Reduced Sweetness So Does That Reduce the Flavours?
The Twelve Monkeys Origins e-liquid range is from an award winning e-liquid company that are based in Canada and have a superb track record of producing some of the best loved juice flavours in the world.
They’ve won Best Fruit – Best New Brand and been runner up and outright winners in the Best International Company category in our very own EcigClick Vape Awards and for good reason as I’ve found out reviewing their Intelligence line of e-liquids.
The ‘Monkey Mix’ Origins range is pretty much going back to the original roots of e-liquids – meaning less sweetness a crisp fresher flavour making them perfect for all day vaping [ADV] or as the company puts it ‘Designed for the everyday vaper’.
One bug bear for many vapers is the sweet juices tend to clog up your vape coils and can after a while become too overpowering. So have the Twelve Monkey mixologists pulled this off? Enough monkeying around – let’s put them to the taste test.
They are available in short fill bottles containing a choice of 0 – 3 and 6mg nicotine. The website says they’re 70/30 PG/VG whilst the bottles say 65/35%. So they are great for most coil/tank types.
For the record the full range of 8 was sent to me for the purpose of review direct from Twelve Monkeys – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are not swayed by freebies. Saying that…lol…I did also receive a drip-mat – mod pouch and stickers so thank you for those too:)
For the taste test I used my go to RDA the Augvape BTFC freshly cleaned and wicked after around 10mls of each juice and on board the Augvape VX200 mod at 77w. As always keep in mind taste is subjective.
12 Monkeys Origins: Galago

Flavour: Grape / Lychee
When the tribe needs a pick me up, they always give Galago a go! Vivid grape highlights infused with spirited lychee to awaken those taste buds.
I Say:
I’m yet to try a grape based e-liquid that I like and my only experience of real lychees were out of a tin in far too sweet syrup.
The smell from the Galago was a little off putting too – with that perfumy chemical aroma that had my taste-buds thinking more grapes of wrath rather than I’m gonna likee this lychee.
I should have had more faith in those Canadian mixologists – this was delicious to say the least.
So good is the blending here you actually taste the skin of the grapes before the juiciness explodes on the tongue. And just before you can pluck another from the vine in comes the lychee which whilst threatening to oversweet the whole thing instead creates a fruit bomb flavour that really does pop off your palate…bloody delicious!
12 Monkeys Origins: Papio

Heyo, it’s Papio! A juicy and vibrant pineapple for your all day vaping pleasure! Experience the bright and balanced notes that will keep you thinking of the sunny shores all day long.
I Say:
Until I tried Papio one of my all-time favourite e-liquids was Pineapple POW from VaporFi – God I love that stuff.
On opening the bottle once again I was a little unsure with the smell suggestive of those hard candy pineapple chunks.
However once that juice is heated on the coils the magic happens with your mouth filling with just the right side of sweet fresh ripe pineapple. It’s very clever blending again with just the right level sweetness allowing the citrus to cut through.
Definitely an All Day Vape [ADV] and definitely in my top five vapes of all time pushing Pineapple Pow out of the list or should I say…KaPOW!
12 Monkeys Origins: Lemur
12 Monkeys Say:
Flavour: Lime / Lemon / Gently Cooled
The Lemurs have just the right fix for those hot days in the jungle. Tangy lime and lemon intermingle in wonderful synergy! Smooth citrus notes on the inhale and a light, gently cooled exhale.
I Say:
Bang on my flavour profile though I was a little worried they may – like so many – have gone a little top heavy with the coolada.
I needn’t have worried – wow these guys can mix showing once again absolutely perfect blending.
This time the smell was delicious and promised a tangy sensation for my tongue and that was exactly what I got.
The taste notes have it bang on – just the right fruity sweet citrus bang on the inhale before the slight and I mean slightest coolness comes through on the stunning exhale.
Think a hot summer day in a pub garden sipping on an icy still lemonade and lime and you’ll get the idea…refreshing and definitely another ADV…love it…
12 Monkeys Origins: Saimiri
12 Monkeys Say:
Flavour: Strawberry / Coconut
A special treasure from deep within the Tribe12M jungles. Succulent, ripe strawberries gently dipped in a light coconut cream.
I Say:
As I’ve said before not a big fan of coconut based vapes to say the least…nor do I tend to enjoy any flavours classed as creamy.
On opening the bottle the smell was a little disconcerting reminding me – dare I say – of sun tan cream…
However on the inhale whilst I do get strawberries – if a little over ripened as in too much time in the sun [ahem]…the coconut lingers on the back note – or should I say sensibly stays in the shade…
OK enough sunbathing puns…
I’m a little unsure about this one if I’m honest. The coconut doesn’t overpower and neither does the strawberry whilst the cream is light rather than cloying.
It’s just not one for me…but a nice twist on your regular strawberries and cream juices and one to try if that’s your thing…
12 Monkeys Origins: Patas Pipe
12 Monkeys Say:
Flavour: Chocolate / Tobacco / Vanilla
Not just the ordinary pipe, Patas’ packing something special! Full bodied tobacco, topped with a small scoop of creamy vanilla and sprinkled with rich chocolate.
I Say:
I vape tobacco flavoured juices all day every day and have done since I first took up vaping.
I’m a kind of old school unadventurous type when it comes to trying tobacco e-liquids with what they call a ‘twist’ – as in adding all sorts of concoctions…I prefer mine rich – dry and just the way I used to smoke them.
Therefore the idea of chocolate and vanilla added to tobacco had my nose wrinkling. Not from the smell I hasten to add indeed the aroma from the bottle was divine and definitely reminiscent of good pipe tobacco.
And guess what…that’s exactly what I got and bloody lovely it was/is too.
Believe it or not I did used to smoke a pipe – being voted Pipe Smoker of the Year in primary school 3 years running…my granddad was so proud…
This is the closest I’ve got to a genuine shag [steady now] in a long time…I highly recommended this one especially if you’re looking to replicate those pipe smoking days of yore…
12 Monkeys Origins: Gattago

I say:
Another grape flavour so is it a great flavour?
Having tried both Matata [lovely] and Glagao [OKish] I was intrigued to try this mashup of the two.
The smell from this is divine – very crisp and fresh with a promise of almost palate cleansing freshness and yup that’s what I got.
The inhale reminds me of that posh fizzy pop – Shloer – obviously without the fizz but definitely with a vine full of flavour. The exhale is simply stunning with all manner of grape notes all bursting with fruity goodness off the tongue creating a magnificent mouth-watering vape.
Most definitely an ADV.
12 Monkeys Origins: Shoku

Flavour: Raspberry / Strawberry / Passion Fruit
Inspired by the Swahili word for passion “Shauku”, Tribe12M has created this melodic blend for the berry lovers! Primary notes of raspberry and strawberry, finished off with a juicy kiss of passion fruit.
I Say:
Two of my favourite e-liquid fruit flavours – raspberry and passion fruit – meet strawberry in what I can only describe as one of the best juices I’ve ever vaped and then some.
Once again the blending is magical with wave after wave of tangy tarty yet just sweet enough fruit notes fornicating over your tongue like a fruit lovers orgy…jeez calm down Neil this is EcigClick not 50 Shades of Vaping…
OK now I’ve calmed a little…the exhale…it’s like a long lingering kiss from a wanton lover… your tongue just wants more and more… 😉
I blame the passion fruit for me going off on one…
In all seriousness…this is most definitely an ADV if ever I saw or tasted one…phew!

It’s OK I’ve taken a cold shower…and saved the best to last…
One of the very first juices I was addicted to was the Peach Iced Tea from Snap – I went through gallons of the stuff.
Since then I’ve struggled to find a decent peach to puff on until now.
Puris is almost the best e-liquid I’ve ever tasted and definitely in my top 3 of all time.
The smell is sensational – pure fresh juicy peach with the hint of that citrus back note.
On the inhale you’re hit with peach that punches so well you can almost taste the skin – it really does make you want to bite down on the vapour…
Just before the exhale my taste-buds picked up that zestiness which smashes into the pure peach creating what can only be described as the perfect peach fruit punch…this is the nectar of the Gods…wow…simply WOW!
Be careful…this is an all-day all night all week vape – seriously addictive!
Final Verdict
Well this range has certainly taken me through a gamut of emotions to say the least lol and yeah I know it’s ‘only e-liquid’ but wow credit where credit is due.
As I said at the start you guys voted 12 Monkeys the 2nd Best International Brand in our 2018 Vape Awards and they won the title in 2017 so you lot definitely know quality when you taste it!
The Origins range is designed as All Day Vapes and they’ve achieved this by cutting down on the sweetness. And that’s the key here – not only does that mean a crisp fresh vape but it doesn’t clog up your coils with sugary gunk either.
The team at Twelve Monkeys Vapor Co has most definitely pulled this off – after emptying the 60mls of Puris whilst the cotton was darkened the coils were very clean indeed…excellent…
So if you’re looking for a seriously tasty set of e-liquids – that are awesome ADV’s then I seriously can’t recommend Twelve Monkeys Origins highly enough…wondrous stuff.
I hope they did cut down on sweetener as their original line was awful.
