Check out the latest Innokin CoolFire reviews:

I recently reviewed the Innokin Cool Fire II hand grenade inspired APV and have to say I loved it.

So keeping with the Cool Fire family we are now going to review the Innokin Cool Fire I, another design that looks inspired by military gear.

In the box / Presentation

The Innokin Cool Fire I comes in a compact acrylic case with everything neatly presented.

In the box you will find the following:

  • 1 X Cool Fire I
  • 1 X Innokin iClear 30B Clearomiser

Build Quality and Design

This MOD is a fixed wattage device set at 8.5 watts and is designed to be used with an 18350 battery (sold separately), same as the Cool Fire II, which may not be ideal for heavy vapers but for me personally as a moderate vaper is just fine.

If I was to take this out though I would take a spare battery just to be on the safe side.

Innokin Cool Fire 1 review

Back to the design which I have to say, like many of the Innokin designs, I like it a lot. Finished in stainless steel it has a solid yet smooth feel in the hand.

It looks (to me) similar to a large bullet casing so maybe it has been based on something like that, I could be wrong though!

The MOD itself breaks down into 3 parts (minus the clearomiser); the bottom cap, the main body and the collar that finishes things off. Everything fits together nicely, no threading issues.

Innokin Cool Fire 1 MODThe bottom cap contains the vent holes as well as a spring loaded connector that helps keep the battery firmly in place, the main body has a slightly dome shaped firing button, that has a good clicking action to it, and is finished off with etched Cool Fire I branding on the side.

The collar sits on top of the body between that and the clearomiser, this not only makes the whole device look better but also contains the two air holes to help with air flow so the draw doesn’t tighten too much when the collar is on.

The Cool Fire is then finished off with a 510/EGO thread so is compatible with a host of different clearomisers.

Features

Standard features:

  • Reverse Battery Protection Circuit.
  • Built in 7A fuse for protection and stability.
  • Short Circuit Protection.
  • ON/OFF battery switch. Click 3 times to turn off and on.
  • LED Battery Power Display, lights green, amber and red to show the life of the batery.
  • Low Voltage Warning.
  • Overtime Vaping Warning (10 second switch cutoff).
  • Battery safety protection (Vent holes).

Onto the actual functionality and again it doesn’t disappoint, the expected safety features are there as listed above and as would be expected the standard 3 clicks on/off function.

What I did find refreshing with the Cool Fire I is that Innokin have decided to go with a set wattage device rather than the usual set voltage devices we see around.

Innokin Cool Fire & iClear 30b

Not ideal for some of course, if you prefer a warmer vape above 8.5 watts then of course this isn’t for you. I personally vape between 8-9.5 watts depending on the e-liquid I’m using so I found this to be just right for me.

I can just throw any clearomiser on (regardless of the ohm rating) and get a good vape. It suits me down to the ground as the 8.5 watt will deliver the same output no matter what you have on top. You know what you are getting every time.

Overall

The design of the Cool Fire I for me is great and the finish excellent. I personally vape around the 8.5 watt range so this is great for me however for those that vape at higher wattage this is probably not going to be of use to you.

For those that don’t want to get involved with a myriad of different settings this could be for you.

Vapour / Flavour

Innokin have included the new iClear 30B clearomiser Dual Coil, bottom coil clearomiser. The tank is made from polycarbonate and has a 3ml capacity.

Innokin iclear 30b

As mentioned before the Cool Fire I has a 510/EGO fitting and when the iClear is in place on the APV complete with the collar it certainly looks the part.

After using the iClear 30B for a couple of weeks with a variety of e-liquids I was having a couple of problems with leaking so was having to take the clearomiser off, blow out the e-liquid and mop up the juice on the battery connector.

When it worked though (which at first it did very well) it did a good job giving me a decent flavour and vapour volume. So a bit of a mixed bag for me on the Innokin iClear 30B front.

Overall – The iClear 30B did produce some good flavours and vapour volume for me…. When it wasn’t leaking and flooding which after a while became a bit of a pain. The Cool Fire I is compatible with EGO/510 tanks though so there is plenty of great options out there to try.

Returns/Warranty

At the time of writing Vapour Room offer a 7 day return policy on unused/unopened product. As always though please check out their website for upto date terms.

Overall – Or For those that Skip to the end!

I loved the design and finish of the Innokin Cool Fire I, they have yet again produced a quality APV and in creating a set wattage device have brought something different to the market.

With it being a fixed wattage it goes without saying that if you vape at a higher wattage then 8.5 then this isn’t going to hit the mark. I personally vape anywhere between 8-9.5 watts and this I found was great for me.

I would think this would appeal to vapers that want to keep things simple and don’t want to mess around with an e cig with lots of different settings.

The only issue I really had was with the iClear 30B tank. I was getting flooding and leaks which while not the end of the world can be a bit of a pain.

When it did work though it was providing me with good flavour and vapour volume. There are numerous tanks available that will fit though so there are plenty of good replacement options out there.

So would I recommend this? For sure, if you are happy vaping at 8.5 watts then this is a great option in my book and at a decent price.

  1. Nice & easy for me to use, the power is fixed but that’s good for me as I dont want the messing around with different power levels.

The design was one of the first things that attracted me to this e cig and in the flesh it doesnt disappoint.
