Eleaf iCare Review

The Eleaf iCare is another addition to the nano vape device market, closely following on from the iNano.

The iCare is not too dissimilar in terms of the way things work but it is different in the way it looks. Lets jump straight in to the review.

Design and Build Quality

The Eleaf iCare is tiny! There’s no two ways about it, this is one of the smallest vape devices currently available. It even slips into the coin pocket in my jeans with ease.

You barely notice it’s there.

The weight is barely noticeable either, even with the tank fully topped up. Not hugely surprising as the juice capacity is 1.8ml.

The Eleaf iCare is finished with smooth, rounded edges and although the top cap on the e cig, which is fully removable, is a garish plastic that sits on the side of ugly, it does fit into the overall design well.

The overall look is a no fuss, clean looking e cigarette.

After a few hours use, I got used to the unfamiliar drip tip and actually found it to be OK to use. The draw is tight but for mouth to lung vapers it’s spot on.

There are two airflow holes located in the top cap and when removed it reveals the air pipe and a rubber bung that helps keep the top cap in place.

How To Change The iCare Coils

With the top cap removed it’s a simple case of removing the metal air pipe by unscrewing and then screwing one of the coils to the opposite end.

Before replacing carefully fill the tank to the marker that is visible on the window on the outside of the iCare.

Once the juice is in simply slot the air pipe with connected coil back in and screw finger tight.

Nice and easy. If you are new to vaping just have a practice removing/replacing the coils and the air tube before filling with juice.

Charging

The micro USB charging port is on the base of the iCare, simply use the supplied cable to attach to a laptop or USB power source and you will have a fully charge device in a couple of hours at most.

How Does The iCare Perform?

Now, the Eleaf iCare isn’t going to win any awards for the amount of vapour or flavour it gives but I have to say I didn’t expect much and the results were good, for an e cig this size.

There are no buttons to press, simply take a draw and the device automatically activates producing a maximum 15W power output.

It is responsive and while it’s no SMOK TFV8 the flavour was good.

Vapour volume was also good for such a small coil head.

The battery life is also good, it’s only 650 mAh battery but still saw me through 4 hours of heavy vaping.

The only thing that was a negative for me was that it’s a noisy vape. When taking a drag it does crackle and make a bit of racket. This did settle down after breaking the coil in so you may or may not experience this.

Apart from that I had no problems with this device and it was leak free.

Final Review Verdict

The Eleaf iCare actually delivered more than I expected. The flavour was good as was the vapour volume, for an e cigarette this small.

It goes without saying this isn’t going to be a device for everyone.

Me personally, I have found myself chucking this in my pocket more and more as I go out as a back up for my main vape and it hasn’t let me down. As a backup you don’t even know it’s there.

If I’m just popping to the pub to watch the football I can take this as my only device and it serves it’s purpose.

There is also another version available, the Eleaf iCare Mini, which comes with a PCC (Portable Charging Case) that has a 2300 mAh battery which you connect the iCare Mini to for charging on the move.

So if you are looking for a tiny backup or are a light/moderate smoker looking for a very small and discreet e cig then this should definitely be considered.
