iStick 100W Styling & Build Quality

In terms of build quality the iStick 100W is decent. It certainly doesn’t have the kind of weight and durability you would expect from a Sigelei mod but to be fair considering the excellent price it is good for the money.

It feels sturdy but it is a lot more lightweight than other high power vape mods so this is one mod I wouldn’t like to ever drop.istick 100w vape mod

Nevertheless the fact that this device is so well priced it’s pretty incredible. To be honest when you see how nice the device looks I think it would be fair to say Eleaf could have easily added a little bit more.

For 100W of power this is probably the most affordable high power mod you could get your hands on.

The 510 pin is spring loaded and made from stainless steel for added durability so it should last you a long time. The 510 pin is a little odd because some of my atomizers sit flush with this device and some have a minor gap but it’s not bad and nothing you can’t live with.

Interestingly Eleaf have moved the 510 to the opposite end of the device away from the fire button which is a sensible move and limits the potential for issues if you have especially leaky atomizers.top of istick 100w

The buttons are nice and feel good to use but the fire button itself rattles a lot. You only have to pick up the mod to hear that fire button rattle but even so it isn’t loose and I don’t believe it’s going to fall out on you. However keep in mind the very low price of the device and you can easily forgive some of the shortcomings such as this.

The battery compartment door is nicely made and makes for an excellent fit. It is secured by two pairs of very strong magnets so the door is not likely to accidentally come off. The device has very good venting with several vent holes on each side of the battery compartment.

The iStick 100W requires two 18650 batteries fitted in parallel. In addition it does support pass-through so you can vape while you charge it.eleaf istick battery lid compartment

The overall looks of the device feature the typical rounded edges style of the iStick series. In the case of the 100W it is even more rounded and it curves inward in the middle making it especially comfortable to hold.

The only slight issue I have is that the finish is quite smooth and it could slip out of your hand but then again it is no different to other iSticks and I am sure a silicone wrap will soon be available to remedy that problem.

The iStick 100W is available in the typical silver or black finishes. I received the black version to review and I have not noticed any issues with the finish.

The display is just like existing iSticks and features all the typical information you might want such as coil resistance, wattage and voltage. In addition the battery charge is also displayed. The display is bright and easily readable apart from coil resistance which is a bit too small.

I actually like the overall design of the device and it’s not trying too hard to beclever with its sense of styling since it looks pleasing enough and is comfortable to hold.

If I have one issue it is the decision to locate the USB charging port on the base of the device which is really going to annoy people who like to use RDA’s because it means you can’t leave the mod stood upright when charging.

Ease of use

The iStick 100W works just like existing iStick models with of course far more power at your disposal. Unlike previous iSticks it does require you to provide your own batteries and a decent make is recommended such as Samsung 25R’s or Sony VTC4’s.

Further Information: Battery Guide For Sub Ohm Vaping

  • Click the fire button five times to switch on and off.
  • Click the fire button three times to switch between VV and VW.
  • To lock/unlock the adjustment buttons hold both of them down for three seconds.
  • With the mod switched off hold down the plus and minus buttons for three seconds to flip the display.
  • Like all iSticks there is nothing complicated about the operation of this device so most people will get to grips with it very quickly.

How Does The Eleaf iStick 100W Perform?

The iStick 100W performs exactly like you would expect from a high power mod. The only thing I have noticed is that the resistance reading seems to display as an average and can often be 0.1-0.2 higher or lower than the actual reading I get from my Ohm Meter or DNA 200.

To be fair it is not going to bother most users but I would suggest that you don’t use this device as your resistance reader if you are building coils for atomizers to be used on mechanical mods. iSticks have always been a little off with their resistance reading so this really is nothing new.oled display eleaf istick 100w

When adjusting the wattage it adjusts reasonably fast but it does take a little longer to go from 5-100W when compared to many of my other devices. Of course when you bear in mind most users will typically have it set to a specific wattage it isn’t really a big deal.

Battery life is comparable to typical dual 18650 devices and you should get a couple of days or more out of this if you are a moderate vaper. If you are a heavy vaper it will at least last you all day long.

All this is of course determined by the wattage you use it at but on the positive side of things unlike other iStick models you can at least replace the batteries and not have to wait for it to charge.

Is It Worth It?

For anyone who is not into temperature control vaping and just needs a reliable workhorse of a mod with good battery life then this is a good choice.

Final iStick 100W Review Verdict

The iStick 100W is something that should appeal to many users. It is easily affordable which means high power vaping is more accessible than ever.

While it doesn’t feature the all new bells as whistles like other devices and does not include temperature control it is still a very reliable mod that should serve you well!

The Good

  • Well priced for a 100W device.
  • Good ergonomics.
  • Reliable. Solid performance.
  • Good battery life.
  • Not at all bad in terms of looks.
  • Durable 510 spring loaded pin.
  • Excellent battery door.

The Not So Good

  • USB port location not ideal.
  • A bit lightweight but understandable considering the price.
  • Can be a little slippery to hold.
  • Fire button rattle.
  • Slightly off with some coil resistances but not that much of an issue.
  • Power adjustment could be faster.

I have been vaping for four years now. I was a 20 a day smoker and a friend of mine encouraged me to give vaping a try. He gifted me with a ego/ce4 set up and some juice and to be fair I found it reasonable but not ideal so I was still also smoking. I went to my local B&M and got some good advice regarding what vaping gear would suit me, as well as finding some juice more to my liking. For a couple of months I used a Vamo V5 but I kept seeing these shiny tube mods and I wondered what they were. After some investigation I discovered they were called mechanical mods and I had to buy my own. From that point I was completely off the cigarettes and quite satisfied with my set up. I eventually moved on the rebuildable devices with my first RDA and RTA. I love vaping and I have no plans to ever stop because there are so many new flavours to discover and a vast amount of different devices with newer technologies to try. While I still own a couple of mechanical mods my preference these days is VW box mods and I really do enjoy a vape with temperature control. I also make my own e-juice as time allows.

  1. Your site is effed up there’s no way I can order one how the hell do you order a battery can’t you just put on their order or add to chart

  2. I’M waiting for one of these and a bit trepidatious – I am a long time Heisenberg 18mg vaped in an Aspire Nautilus on top of an itaste sd2 at 10 w. Can I use the Nautilus still on top of the Istick and if so at what setting?

What sub-ohm tank would everyone recommend to a box newbie for the same juice and at what settings. Also have a Koopor 60w mini – same questions.

    Thanks vaping world.

    Cheers

    Dave

    • Hey Dave,

Yeah you can still use the Nautilus on the iStick no problem. Just start on a low wattage and work your way up unitil you find the vape that’s right for you. It may well still be 10W if that is what you liked before.

Sub Ohm Tank – We have our favourite sub ohm tanks here.

Just so you know, sub ohm vaping is ‘direct to lung’ vaping. Whereas the Aspire Nautilus , that you are using now, is a ‘mouth to lung’ tank. Please ask if you are not sure what the difference is.

You can still vape Heisenberg e liquid but with a sub ohm tank you will want to drop your nicotine to around 6mg. Sub ohm vaping is at higher temperatures so hits harder than what the Nautilus would.

I personally use the Aspire Cleito as my go to tank with the 0.4 Ohm coil. I vape around 30-35W depending on the eliquid.

Again, whatever tank you go for, just start on the lower wattages and work your way up.

Any questions on the above please don’t hesitate to ask!

Also, be great to hear what you go for!

      Cheers

      Jonny

  3. The Istick 100 was the first product of Eleaf the 100 Watt brought with exchangeable batteries and power the posive in the eyes of Vaper to the coil. For negative is the high weight and the lack of temperature control. But it is a Istick who knows the advantages Handy easy to appreciate know Him!

  4. This is a solid Eleaf device. It has quite a bit of power, and very user friendly. Do recommend this to any vaper whether it be a newbie or a vet.
