The Aspire Speeder is the latest mod from, what is, one of the best known brands in the vaping world.

Since 2013 Aspire have always been a pioneer for innovative vaping products, who remembers Aspire Nautilus with the BVC coils, they helped to changed the face of vaping by allowing adjustable airflow for the first time!

Many long term vapers out there will not only remember the Nautilus with fondness but also one of the first Sub Ohm Tanks to hit the market, the Aspire Atlantis. Add to this The Pegasus TC Mod, NX75 mod and more recently the Archon mod and Zelos X kit.Aspire speeder review

Design and Build Quality

Being a person that suffers from arthritis in my hands! The build and design of the Aspire Speeder mod is perfect for me.

The comfort level of the side firing button has just the right tension and the shape of the mod is incredibly comfortable with it’s curved design that fits perfectly in my hand.

Aspire Speeder mod

Made from an aluminium alloy the Speeder is available in 3 colour options, Rose gold and white, dark grey (almost black) and a sliver and grey. The paint work is very good, in my time of using this mod (over a month) there no marks/chips or atty scratches around the 510.Aspire Speeder 200W connection 510

The 510 itself is made of stainless steel with a brass spring loaded centre pin which has a fair throw on it, the bottom front USB port is in just the right place for desk use. This port can be used to charge your batteries.

But as always, I recommend removing the batteries from the device and charging in a standalone charger, the USB port also doubles as a firmware update port, to update your firmware you will need to download the driver software from the Aspire website.Aspire Speeder USB

On the back of device you will see Speeder laser printed and removable QR sticker.

Are handled by a single rocker button, we have seen this before on other mods.

Battery doorAspire Speeder 200W contactsAspire Speeder 200W battery slide

Is a hinged door with a slide release! The inside of the battery compartment has a plastic coating for greater battery safety, the polarity marks are very clear on both the door and inside of the Speeder, the door has eight vent holes and a printed CE and recycle marks.

Screen Aspire Speeder 200W watts

Is a 0.96Inch OLED and is very clear and easy to read, the screen is auto adjustable so whichever way you hold the Speeder the screen is always the right way around.

How Does The Aspire Speeder Mod Perform?

My Speeder is the Silver and Grey version; and I’ve been using the Govad RDA from Vandy Vapes nearly exclusively on the Speeder!

For this review I have a single SS316 0.25 ohm Clapton installed and I have chosen to use a liquid by V-Juice called Yoda.Aspire Speeder 200W liquid and rda

Menu System and other attributes

  • Click the fire button 5 times to turn on and again to lock the device, hold the fire button down for 5 sec to turn off the device.
  • Fire button and up to enter the menu use the left button to select an option fire button to confirm.
  • Click the fire button 3 times put the mod into stealth mode, 3 times again to exit stealth mode.
  • The Speeder also has a 10 second puff count, as well as the normal protection features i.e. auto cut off, short circuit, low resistance, overheat, over charge, over discharge. Reverse battery protection, no atty etc.

The Aspire Speeder in UseAspire Speeder 200W TC

In the main I have used the Speeder in Power mode normally at around 60w to 100w, the Aspire Speeder handles Temperature Control extremely well and at 420F to 450F I have had a very satisfying and enjoyable vape with this mod.

The Speeder will work with SS316L, Ni200 and Ti wire types in Temp Control as well as Kanthal and Nichrome in power mode! All the functions do as they say and in whatever function I have set, be that; Power, TC, Bypass, CPS or TCR I have do not have any bad experiences to report.

What I Like

The most important function of the Aspire Speeder 200w to me is the fire button, the tension is just right and easy to fire in whichever hand I use it.

The screen is large and clear so I don’t have to put my reading specks on every time I want to alter the settings.

I have been using Sony VTC 4’s with this mod and battery life is extremely good I can get nearly a complete day from a married pair at 55/60w and in TC at 420F I can get a complete day.

What I Didn’t Like

I am only slightly disappointed by the engraving of the fire button it is a dirt magnet, also the Oled screen collects finger prints easily. Neither of these minor disappointments are deal breakers and I guess would be really classed as me nit picking lol.

Final Review Verdict

The Aspire Speeder is a very comfortable and easy to use mod that for right now is satisfying my vaping style!

If I was able to ask Aspire one thing it would be why did they set the menu system up the way they did? However, the menu is easy to learn, after using it for a while it gets very easy.

I think you can tell by now that this is my type of mod and yes I would buy it again should I loose or break the device. I would highly recommend the Speeder 200w to those looking for a new easy to use mod – great stuff Aspire.

Pros

  • Does everything it says on the tin
  • Good build quality and design
  • Extremely easy to use
  • Excellent battery life
  • Nice clear screen
  • Works well in both Power and TC modes

Cons

  • No Cons in my book but if pushed I will say the screen is a finger print magnet and the engraving on the fire button has a habit of collecting dirt from your fingers.

Hi my name is Kevin, I started vaping back in 2009 mainly because my little boy at 3 years old was starting to copy the way daddy smoked a cigarette! Over the years I have gained a good amount of experience with different types of vaping hardware but I'm just a normal guy who enjoys sharing my experiences. This is why I started my Youtube vape review channel in 2014. To date the channel has had over 500,000 views. Being disabled, vaping has given me a gateway to meeting people from all different walks of life, many of those I would not have met under other circumstances. The way I look at my reviews is, if I can convince just one person to give up the stinky’s my job is done. I class myself as a tinkerer as I like to take things apart to see how they work and put them back together, yes that includes e-cigarette mods! One day I would like to be able to design my own mod. I am a dedicated father, and husband to my sweetheart of nearly 30 years! Family to me comes before anything else.

  1. I picked up one of these for cheap on ebay as I wanted to retire my last running Aspire Skystar and I am super pleased with this. I also run 3 Aspire NX100’s which has a couple more features but the Speeder handles my Geekvape Griffin RTA superbly, my quad coil Smok TF RTA which is a super heavy beastie also runs well and even ran my 12 coiled Limitless atty which is a real cell drainer so all in all very versatile mod and I am prob going to buy another.
