The Logic Pro 2 Review – Plus 6 Flavours

The Logic Pro 2 starter kit is a Vape Pen device which is an update from the previous Logic Pro model and uses a similar E-liquid capsule system. The Pro 2 is slightly smaller than the original model and has a different outer finish.

The capsules can be changed at any time if you want a different flavour – no washing tanks out! Also no changing or buying coils to worry about – the capsule contains a disposable coil already installed.

The capsules come in 6 flavours and various nicotine strengths. I would advise current or recently ex-smokers to look for E-liquid with around 12-18mg nicotine. You can read more about E-liquid and nicotine strengths in our guide here.

Marketed towards new vapers the starter kit is as easy as it gets and widely available from shops, supermarkets, petrol stations and online!

Build Quality & Design

The box includes all you need to get started apart from the capsules.

The Logic Pro 2 is a slim device with a top cap which holds the capsules and mouthpiece and a bottom part which is the battery.

The finish is a black rubber style and feels lovely in the hand.

It is light to carry but a bit too tall to stand up on its own.

You can see the capsule liquid level really clearly through the cut outs in the top cap.

The fire button has a blue light ring around it and the light illuminates when pressing fire, switching on or off and when the battery is low.

The really thin diameter mouthpiece/drip tip is a bit strange and it is made from metal which I kept knocking against my teeth. You can unscrew the drip tip but it is a non-standard size so no idea if you can replace it.

A few times when using the drip tip came loose. I was pressing fire and sucking until my lungs were by my eyebrows and nothing was happening. I then found the drip tip was loose. Screw it back on and all is groovy again.

The build quality is solid. You might just get this out of the box and think “she’s a liar”!

Without a capsule installed it really rattles when you move it. However install a capsule and not a rattle or wobbly bit in sight.

How Does the Logic Pro 2 Perform?

Basic operation

You will need to press the fire button 5 times to turn the Logic Pro 2 on or off.

The light around the fire button will flash 10 times when the battery is low and requires charging.

After 12 minutes if the fire button is not pressed the device automatically turns off.

How To Charge The Logic Pro 2

• You will need to remove the battery from the top part of the pen.
• The battery screws onto the end of the USB cable as shown.
• Plug the USB end into a suitable outlet.
• The light indicator in the charger will be red whilst it is charging.

• The indicator on the charger will turn green when charging is complete.

How To Change The Pro Liquid Capsule

This is super simple – just make sure to buy the Logic Pro Capsules as you cannot use a bottle of E-Liquid with this.

• Unscrew the top part of the pen.

• If a capsule is installed it should simply drop out.
• Remove the shipping covers from the new capsule – if you don’t the capsule won’t fit – I know because I have tried! Doh….

• Insert the capsule into the top cover as shown.

• Screw the top part onto the battery and voila!

Flavour & Cloud Production

In general the vapour and flavour are not hugely strong – but this isn’t a high powered device. With a long inhale though you can get enough to make you cough so there is definitely a throat hit. It is quite deceiving though as it is such a cool vapour you think you are not getting a lung full then wallop cough cough!

It takes a few vapes after putting a new capsule in for the full flavour and vapour to kick in and then it is great!

I find both the flavour and vapour to be what I would expect from a similar device – so no issues there!

The airflow is very tight but it is perfect for the market this device is aimed at – smokers or ex-smokers. I am a dual fueller (smoking and vaping) and I found the airflow really natural for me.

The Logic flavour capsules are available in a range of nicotine strengths – so I can only comment on the strengths I was sent to review. A stronger nicotine strength will give more of a throat hit than a weaker one.

The Logic website and capsule packaging does not state the VG/PG proportion of the E-Liquid so this does make it difficult to judge if the vapour is as expected. A higher VG proportion usually means more vapour.

As always when I review flavours it is less about my personal preference and more about whether the E-Liquid taste matches the description. So marks are usually awarded on that. Sometimes even if one isn’t quite as described but still lovely I can add an extra mark here and there!

Tobacco Flavour – 18mg Nicotine

I am generally not a fan of Tobacco flavour E-liquid – I often find it tastes and smells very chemically to me.

I have bought lots of tobacco liquids in the past and found them horrible, then given them to other people who have loved them – so there is something very weird about me!

So as expected I didn’t really enjoy this tobacco flavour – but it is by no means the worst I have ever tasted. Like the other flavours it is quite subtle – to the point I could probably vape my way through a capsule of this.

There is a good throat hit and you can feel this dry out the back of your tongue like a cigarette would. So although it is not the first flavour I would pick I think it is a decent tobacco liquid. The high nicotine strength would be ideal for someone switching from cigarettes to vaping and I think they wouldn’t be disappointed with this.

Berry Mint Flavour – 12mg Nicotine

Blimey Berries and Mint and you get a huge blast of both!

This is so weird!

You can really taste both – the mint is a really cool sensation on the inhale and then you exhale a lovely blackcurranty taste.

The throat hit is crazy as you get an icy blast from the mint but the nicotine also makes it tickle – this is not just a flavour it is a feeling too!

Some of the other flavours are a bit meek and polite – whereas this is more of a thug!

This is my favourite so far! In fact am reluctant to take this capsule out to try some of the others now!

When I had tested all the flavours this was the first one I popped back into the Pro 2 to finish off!

Menthol Flavour – 12mg Nicotine

Brrr this is ICY Cold!

This is a right tonsil tickler. More of an extra strong mint taste and a frosty tickly blast to your throat.

With this one the flavour concentration is spot on. This and the Berry Mint are good strong flavours – compared to the rest of the range which are a bit weak.

Vanilla Flavour – 6mg Nicotine

A definite vanilla is coming through, but it is quite muted. Would like this to have a bit more of a “Kick”.

It is a nice ice cream style vanilla rather than a sickly air freshener taste. It is a lovely flavour if only it was a bit stronger!

You can tell the nicotine strength is lower in this capsule as the throat hit is a lot less too.

I think in a 12mg nicotine strength this would be great.

Strawberry Flavour – 12mg Nicotine

I have to admit I have been chomping on Haribo sweeties a lot and the taste of this reminds me of the lovely heart shaped red sweetie with the white back!

It isn’t a strong flavour – the Logic Pro device doesn’t make a hot flavourful vape but the taste is definitely there.

I do wish there was a bit more of a flavour hit from this though. It is pretty mild and it is a nice flavour so a bit more wouldn’t hurt.

Only problem is this keeps making me hungry and want to grab more sweeties!

Cherry Flavour -12mg Nicotine

More of the same really – a lovely cherry taste but on the weak side. I would like this to be a lot stronger as it really does taste good.

There is a real strong throat hit with this one – more than with the other flavours – but it is a 12mg – same nicotine strength.

I would really enjoy this if they cranked the flavour up a few more %!

Battery Life

Put it this way…

The battery charge lasted long enough for me to vape the entire contents of 2 and a half capsules!!

In total I got 4.5 hours of constant pretty heavy vaping!

What a pleasant surprise!

What I Like

You don’t need loads of tissues on hand to top this up or change the capsule. Totally clean liquid free hands!

It is so easy to set up and use – it just works!

What I Dislike

There is no real battery capacity display. The light will flash 10 times when the battery is low – but how much use is that if you are nowhere near a charger?

Final Review Verdict

This isn’t a high power cloud generator. This is in a starter/low maintenance category and it does exactly as you ask of it!

I urge smokers if they can to avoid the mini e-cigs and go straight for a vape pen like this – they will get a much nicer experience from vaping.

The capsules are easy to buy online or over the counter in local shops and are so easy to change. The capsules are bought in packs of three for around £5 and these are a really good buy – a lot cheaper than smoking!

The flavour, vapour and throat hit are all as good as I was expecting. I do wish a few of the flavours were a bit stronger as they do taste a bit diluted. Go on Logic crank up the taste a bit – they do taste lovely so add a bit more flavour!

I did find I could get through a capsule quite quickly but that was a few hours of constant almost chain vaping. Plus I need a lot of Nicotine at the moment!

You could do a hell of a lot worse than this!

Pros

Cons

• It can take a few vapes to get the capsule to kick in so don’t be disappointed at the first few inhales.
• The packaging calls this the “logic Pro” however the website calls this the “Logic Pro 2” so it could be confusing if you are buying replacement parts or another device.
• The battery capacity display concept is very poor – only warns you when the battery dies – not good is it!
• Metal drip tip keeps clanging against my teeth which isn’t pleasant and it is a non-standard style drip tip so you can’t replace it. Also the drip tip becomes loose.
• Some of the flavours are a bit weak so it would be great if the flavour concentration could be increased. The flavours are really tasty just need more of it!
