Wowee I have been dying to get my hands on the stunning VZone Graffiti mod!

VZone are quite a new company however they have hit the vaping scene with a huge impact! Other products in their exciting range include the beautiful Cultura 100W, The eMask and the Spirit.

vzone graffitiJust look at it – it is a beauty! VZone have really gone crackers with the design on this model!

The mod uses 2×18650 batteries which are not included and can output up to 220W.

On the side of the mod is an 0.91in OLED screen and the fire and adjustment buttons.

Like the Cultura the side panels use the “In Mould Labelling (IML)” – which is an injection coating process on aluminium alloy for a better finish and wear resistance.

graffiti viewsThere are plenty of modes to keep you amused too including KA (Kanthal- Variable Wattage), Temperature Control and TCR . The Graffiti has the HW board 1.0 chipset – which is the same as used in the Cultura.

The HW chipset is also appearing to be the same as used in some Tesla models including the Wye 85W and 200W and the Punk 85W and 220W.

Also four “Taste” modes are available which change the characteristics of how the mod fires.

There are 3 colours to choose from – Gun Metal, 7 Colour and Stainless Steel. I actually love them all!

Oooh I am excited – let’s get the batteries in and get this beauty fired up!

This device was sent to me for the purposes of this review. As always, my views are my own.

Build Quality & Design

The packaging just gives off an air of quality and a strong plastic film is wrapped all around the mod – so the Vzone Graffiti arrived in perfect condition.graffiti size v pen

I received the 7-colour version which has a rainbow body, yellow/gold side panels and the front and rear of the mod have the graffiti pattern.vzone graffiti with Falcon tank rainbow

The pattern as mentioned above is created using IML technology and it is smooth and shiny and wont peel off or flake as it is part of the coating of the mod.

The only flaw to the design to me is how shiny it is, it can get a bit slippy and being a dual battery mod it does have a bit of weight.graffiti with falcon tank

The 510 connector is in the centre and I have the Horizon Falcon tank on the top which is 24mm diameter and this is probably the maximum size I would go before you will get overhang.falcon on graffiti

Give this mod a good waft about with and without batteries and there are no rattles or wobbly bits. The Magnet on the battery door is so strong it keeps attracting items from my desk! See below I demonstrate this by using the mod to pick up some tweezers!graffiti picking up tweezers

The bottom of the mod has some simple branding and some battery vents.graffiti views

This has the same small old fashioned looking screen as the Cultura but again this seems to be very Tesla like – even down to the KA mode (KA is the Tesla mode for VW!). I have been using mods with huge colour screens lately so this seems a bit small and not as user friendly as some- but hey this won’t be draining the batteries like a big screen and loads of sparkly blingy lights.graffiti screen

How Does the VZone Graffiti Mod Perform?

Basic operation

vzone graffiti componentsThe mod has a few controls on the side panel by the screen. There is a fire button and up/down adjustment buttons.

There is a USB port but this should really be for Firmware Upgrades (when available) as it is not recommend to charge removable batteries in the mod.

  • To switch on/off = 5 quick presses of the fire button
  • To lock/unlock adjustment buttons = press hold fire button and down button
  • Adjust settings = up and down buttons
  • Select/confirm = fire button
  • Enter menu = 3 quick presses of the fire button

When you enter the “menu” mode – different parts of the screen can be highlighted, use the fire button to select the value you want to alter and the up and down buttons to adjust. Once finished press the fire button.graffiti home screen

Resistance Adjustment

When you highlight the resistance value and press fire you can use the up and down buttons to fine tune your resistance.

When you highlight the ohms icon and press the fire button you can lock the resistance of the coil – i.e. for temperature control operations – doing this with the coil cold will make sure the mod can make the correct adjustments for the coil resistance when heating up.

Taste Mode

Highlight the “Norm” icon and press fire and you will enter the Taste Mode menu.

  • Norm = the mod operates at a normal output for the power setting
  • Soft = the mod operates in a more gentle mode by heating the coil gently
  • Hard = this sends more power to the coil initially to give a faster heat up to the coil and a stronger vape
  • User = this will enter the “Power Curve” menu. In this you can customise the rate and amount of power during each vape. Each bar on the graph is one second. So for instance you can make it so more power is applied for 1-2 seconds to give a faster heat up and then lower power for the rest of the vape as the coil is already hot.

For more info read our Guide on Power Curve Settings.

Power Mode

When you highlight the KA icon and press fire you will enter the power mode menu.graffiti menus

  • KA = variable wattage mode – allows you to adjust the wattage you require with the up and down buttons.
  • SS316, Ni200, Ti = these are the Temperature control modes where you can specify what temperature to heat the coil to. We tell you more in our guide to Temperature Control.
  • TCR = this is the “Temperature Coefficient of Resistance” setting. This is also a form of temperature control but with this you can customise how the mod will calculate the resistance/temperature equation with more accuracy.

Memory Modes

You can save any of your customised settings – including power curves to the memory. You have three slots in the memory and by highlighting the M icon you can recall these settings from M1, M2 or M3.

Mod Information

Highlight the battery icon and click fire to find out the mod information including firmware version.

How To Install The Battery

  • The side panel comes off to get access to the battery compartment.
  • Look on the base of the mod for the slight cut out.

graffiti battery cover cut outs

  • Put your nail in the cut out and pull the battery cover off. This is held on magnetically.graffiti battery cover
  • Using a pair of matched batteries install them according to the polarity marked on the battery sled. You will need to keep the batteries quite parallel to the mod as the connections are spring loaded and if you tilt the battery too much it won’t go in.graffiti battery sled
  • Make sure to keep the battery removal ribbon under the batteries to help you to remove them.graffiti battery installed

It is recommend to remove batteries for charging. Use a good brand of battery and charger. Keep batteries in pairs so they keep the same level of charge and degradation. We tell you more in our guide to battery safety.

VZone Graffiti Performance

The performance for me was spot on. I used tanks I am familiar with and have used on other mods. The power output of this appears to be accurate with other mods I have used.

I mainly ran this at 80W with my Horizon Falcon tank as the match was so beautiful. It didn’t skip a single beat, no drop in performance – just nice and steady and reliable.

I mainly stuck to the Normal taste mode – I did have a little play and with the Hard taste mode the ramp up is loads faster – I was having to take really short vapes as whoa it’s intense! So I was happier with the Normal mode.

Battery Life

The battery capacity and user settings will always mean there is no fixed “battery life” specification.

So to give you a guide – I have a pair of matched Samsung 25R batteries and at 80W I got 17.5 hours of vaping. This was spread over 2 days though and may differ for you depending on battery condition and vaping habits. Like mentioned above I been using a lot of big colour screen, LED adorned mods lately and to be honest I am blown away with that battery life I really am! I am almost converted to less bling… almost…

Pros

  • Build quality is excellent, no flaws or rattles
  • Beautiful finish and design
  • Uses same chip as some Tesla models
  • Wonderful battery life
  • Performance was perfect
  • Reliable and sturdy mod

Cons

  • The styling might not be to everyone’s taste!
  • Slightly small and old fashioned looking screen/menu system – could be a pro as less to drain the battery!
  • Very smooth finish so might be a bit slippery to grip

Final Review Verdict

I know some people might look at the VZone Graffiti mod and think it’s louder than someone who has just trod on Lego with bare feet. But hey this range is not for those people. The Graffiti range are big and bold and bright.

Underneath all the bright stuff is a solidly build mod which just performs and does all you ask of it. Having the same chip as the Tesla mods is a bonus as they are well loved by many. Despite the crazy styling this is a serious mod built to perform and not just look pretty.

The battery life of this at 80W was just so impressive! I loved it. Normally I favour single battery mods for being more portable in my girly hands – but I have really fallen in love with this Graffiti and just how practical is it. I barely even had to check the battery level as it hadn’t moved from the last time I looked!

Personally I prefer a nice big colour screen – but that is my preference and of course big colour screens soak up the battery life.

vzone-graffiti-reviewYes the exterior of this mod is fun - and wants to be light hearted. But this is a serious performer. The looks might make some people not take this seriously. This mod just works, the battery life is excellent and it is super well built. The display and menu system is not the most modern - but it works.

    • I am not sure really as I think VZone seems to have disappeared? So I think it is unlikely you will find an update? I have tried Google and nothing is showing sadly.
