Convenience. A word which I love for a number of reasons when it comes to vaping, its one of the reason why disposable pen products have become incredibly popular.

So for a more expensive ‘Non-disposable’ product to be successful, such as the Geekvape 1FC on review today, it needs to be convenient. Especially now that it’s now got some serious competition.

So how could the small, portable pod system compete with a simple pick up, use and bin disposable device?

The answer is to be more convenient!

But what’s more convenient than literally just opening the packet and vaping away till it dies?

Perhaps its more convenient to be re-usable, and rechargeable? Meaning less shopping trips, perhaps once a week to pick up a new bottle of your favourite e-liquid and a spare pod every now and then?

To go another step, you could add a super fast 15 minute charge for super convenience?

Well that’s exactly what Geekvape are trying to do with the 1FC, and they’re also promoting a ‘One’ which in simple terms just has a larger battery but doesn’t feature quite the same speed charging.

What Can We Expect From the Geekvape 1FC & One Pod Kit ?

The Geekvape 1FC pod system features a 2ml pod which had non replaceable coils, but has a 3-step power output, along with an LED indicator, automatic draw and a USB-C port for a full charge of the 550mAh battery in just 15 minutes!

The Geekvape One is extremely similar although it has a larger 780mAh internal battery and only has the 1 LED indicator. But apart from that, they’re extremely similar.

So let’s crack on with the Geekvape 1FC & One Pod kit review and see what this kit is all about.

This kit was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of review.

All views and opinions are solely those of my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of others.

I received sample packaging from Geekvape which included both pods – however the retail packaging is different and you only get the one system in the box, so below is the information for the 1FC kit in TPD regions.

Design and Build Quality

I received the Silver/Blue version of the Geekvape 1FC and black version of the ‘One’ which are extremely similar in looks. In general, I’ve made more use of the 1FC to really test out its charging capabilities.

The Geekvape One Pods

The 2ml capacity pod contains either a 0.8Ω mesh coil or a 1.2Ω coils. Which are non replaceable which means once you start to get that burning taste, it’s time to bin the whole pod and start a new one.

The mouthpiece is oval shaped but comfortable on the mouth and is also removable in order to fill/re-fill the pod. It removes simply by gently bending it off, which surprisingly isn’t too difficult but its fixed in place well enough that it wont fall off with a light tap or knock.

It might be worth keeping hold of the mouthpiece when the pod has done its time, just in case you damage or lose your mouthpiece.

At the base of the pods are two small contacts and also etched into the pod base is the resistance of the coil and recommended wattage. The pods click nicely into the device thanks to a magnetic connection.

Geekvape 1FC & One Pod In the Hand

Both devices are about the width of a USB stick but clearly longer, which means they’re very minimalistic in the hand, and comfortable to vape on.

In the hand they feel comfortable and lightweight, the Aegis style leathery/plastic cover on one side ads a little grip and a little more comfort

Thanks to the automatic draw there’s no real need to use the fire button, unless you want to adjust the power output. But the fire button clicks nicely and protrudes the right amount. If not an unusual shape!

One final thing to mention. There is no way of adjusting the airflow with these devices, so I’ll do my best to describe the draw.

How To Fill the Geekvape One Pods

Here’s how to fill the pod with e-liquid:

  • Remove the mouthpiece from the pod
  • Push your bottle tip into the larger of the two holes (Smaller hole is a breather hole)
  • Fill the pod
  • Re-fit the mouthpiece and leave the coil to saturate for approx 5mins.

Geekvape 1FC & One Pod Functions

The 1FC and One pod has a simple method of adjusting the power thanks to its 3-step’s of power output.

Three clicks of the fire button will adjust the power between Red (Low 3.1v), Blue (Medium 3.4v) and Blue (High 3.7v)

How Does the Geekvape 1FC & One Pod Perform?

Seeing as this small, slender device is suited for a new vaper.

I whipped out a bottle of 50VG/50PG Lickwid Mango Unchained which is a 10mg nic salt.

0.8Ω Pod – Flavour and Clouds

After a lot of toying around with the power modes, I’ve generally kept this pod at the highest Green setting with this 0.8Ω coil.

With regards to flavour, its a nice, warm enjoyable vape. Flavour is sweet and smooth if not maybe a little lacklustre, but its still tasty enough to be enjoyable.

The draw/restriction of the 0.8Ω pod is certainly a mouth to lung experience but it is a little on the loose side. Don’t get me wrong, its comfortable, smooth and acceptable but for me, I prefer a little more restriction.

1.2Ω Pod – Flavour and Clouds

Just like the 0.8Ω coil, I ended up on the highest power setting with the 1.2Ω pod and the flavour in general is on par with the 0.8Ω however the draw experience is a little tighter, a little more of an MTL draw which for me, is a little better than the 0.8Ω pod, plus because of the lower power output, you’re saving on battery life.

Battery Life and Charging

The big selling point of the 1FC is the 15 minute charge time thanks to the 2A USB-C port. So of course, I put this to the test.

Thanks to my trusty Innokin MVP 5 mod with the current output on display, I timed the Geekvape 1FC from dead battery, to fully charged in a little under 11 minutes! And as you can see, that’s with the Innokin pushing out 1.9amps.

The One Pod with its 780mAh battery is no slouch either, charging in around 30 minutes. Still very good thanks to the 2A charge.

One thing that did concern me, was whether the 1FC with its 550Mah battery could survive a full day of vaping. Which is where it got a little sticky for me.

Using the 0.8Ω pod at its highest setting, you may find the device will need charging during the day, but I’ve found the 1.2Ω pod does just fine.

With regard to the One pod system with its 780mAh battery, the device manages to last just fine all day, regardless of which pod you decide to use.

Does the Geekvape 1FC and One Pods Leak?

Its not all too often I say that there is not a drop of e-liquid or condensation inside the device pod housing, or on the base of the pod itself. Nice job Geekvape.

Pros

  • Decent battery life and good charge rate
  • More than acceptable flavour
  • Well made with solid construction
  • Comfortable mouthpiece
  • Easy filling method
  • Auto-draw is fast and responsive.

Cons

  • Airflow is not quite restrictive enough
  • Adding an airflow adjustment slider would be ideal.

Final Review Verdict

Overall I’m fairly impressed with Geekvape’s attack at the simple, smart pod system game.

They’ve done a decent job overall.

I kind of feel like the two options are too similar to really distinguish the differences between the two, I suppose it really comes down to an almost guaranteed full days life of battery, or a super quick charging device?

Apart from that, regardless of which device you choose, you’ll be happy with your choice.

There are many many pod mod vape devices on the market, many of which I’ve tried and tested. Honestly, the 1FC and One Pods by Geekvape wont be at the top of my list, but they’re not too far off.

Would this device be long lasting and still work 3, 6 or even 12 months from now?

I don’t actually think pumping a 2 amp charge into a tiny 550mAh battery every day is a good idea, so i would try and keep those fast charges for times of desperation.

The device will charge nicely with a 1 Amp charge – So as long as you treat the batteries well in these devices, I have no concerns over the durability of the Geekvape 1FC and One Pod kits.

Does this device deliver the flavour, vapour and general experience I require, in order to be enjoyed?

Generally the devices vape really nice, there will be some who feel the restriction of the airflow is too loose, but I’m not suggesting the too loose, just for some, they may prefer a tighter draw.

Is this device versatile to suit a new vaper, and an experienced one a like?

This device is ideal for a new vaper – its certainly convenient, portable, easy to use and a nice vape.

For the pro vapers out there, it’s just another pod system.

Have you bought the Geekvape 1Fc or One Pod kit?

Or have you given it a try?

Flat Cap Vaper Reivews
FlatCap Vaper

Hey Folks. Im Gaz, The Flat-cap Vaper. I’m 35, married with 3 kids and I just love Flatcap's and Vaping! I started my e-cigarette journey in 2014 when I entered my local vape shop and got so well looked after, I ditched my 10 year habit of 15 roll-ups a day within 48hrs. Following on from this, my Vaping journey began. I started a Youtube Channel at the beginning of 2019 and so far has had over 500,000+ views. I quickly upgraded my device and that’s when my geeky side took over and I began to experiment with making my own liquid, building my own coils and even my own mods! As a trained electrician I suppose ohms, wattage and voltage runs through my veins so Vaping has become my hobby and a passion that I want to share with everyone.

geekvape-1fc-one-pod-reviewA very simple starter pod system from Geekvape that lives up to their reputation and quality. Simple as that.

  1. I’ve had my 1fc for about 2 months now. I use the 1.2 pods and they seem to work great for about a week or so, then they start to leak. I am an industrial maintenance tech and it’s my profession to find out what’s wrong with things. I feel like these seals give out and it leaks from the sides, not the air holes. Also, the battery life has decreased significantly since new. I would get almost 2 days at full charge on the low setting when new. Now I have to charge every 6-8 hours, which does only take 10 minutes, still annoying. This is my first refillable vape after leaving Vuse’s ridiculous prices and terrible quality, so I have no idea if there is a better option out there. After 2 months I am “meh” on this device, it works but has it’s issues.

  2. thanks for the great review/instructions on changing the settings bought this as an emergency replacement, didn’t read the instructions and took it away with me have been accidentally changing settings and not known how to change them back, also they didn’t explain the difference in the shop about the 2 pods just said one was a replacement, first pod I think had some sort of fault worked for 4 days and then just kept flashing red assuming this is something to do with me changing settings and not know what I was doing, second pod is going strong. Hopefully last longer than 90 days as the one i replaced had been going strong for 12 months the refills just became hard to purchase locally

  3. Deleted my review because they are thieves. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. BOUGHT ONE AND WENT FAULTY AND THEY WON’T EXCHANGE OR REFUND. WHAT PRODUCT ONLY LASTS 90 DAYS. CHINA RUBBISH.

  4. I recently purchased this vape and it constantly leaks I changed to the other coil head which does exactly the same it leaks into the inside and all I taste is the liquid I haven’t overfilled this vape I think it’s just faulty has not worked since I bought it I have several different vapes and never had this problem please help wasted my money

  5. Does it have two small air holes on the side for a more restrictive draw? The Xros mini and Uwell Caliburn A2 both have holes on the side. I think my Suorin air pro does too. I guess it works kind of like a carb on a bong. Lol!! Thanks for the review.
