The Oumier Wasp Nano RTA is the latest addition to the range of Wasp devices that included the RDA and RDTA.

The brand itself is relatively small, founded in 2013 and with a fairly limited selection of products on the market. One thing they have going for them is the fact that of that handful of products, most of them have received excellent reviews from vapers and reviewers alike.oumier wasp nano rta mainI had the pleasure of reviewing their Wasp Nano RDTA a while back, which I loved and which, incidentally I had been using for about 2 weeks prior to the day the brand new Wasp Nano RTA arrived in the vape mail.

The Wasp Nano RTA by Oumier

Since the Wasp Nano RDTA is most certainly one of my top pics for use with mini vape mods because it packs in flavour like very few mini setups can. Needless to say, I was excited to get a build on the new kid in the range.

Also in their inventory, the Oumier Wasp Nano RDA, the Wasp Nano Squonk Kit and the all new Bulk RTA. Save one or two products, Oumier definitely specialises in buildable and why not?! Judging by my experience, they’re good at it!

This device was sent for the purposes of review. As always my views are my own.

Build Quality & Design

My gold Wasp Nano RTA arrived in a neat little black and white Oumier Box, with that very cool Wasp logo on the front.oumier wasp nano rta end

The Wasp Nano RTA is actually pretty basic in design…no real innovations, as such, just tried and tested features that, by the look of it, will amount to a top class little RTA.

We have a nice, neat 510 connection at the bottom, a short base ring, which is also an adjustable airflow ring with light knurling which echoes the patterning of the wasp (logo) ’s wings.

This airflow ring has one 10 x 2 mm cyclops style airflow slot on either side.

There is a mm tall stable ring sticking out above the airflow ring.oumier wasp nano rta 510

Above that we have the tank section, with the chamber cap visible through the glass of the 2ml capacity tank.

The chamber cap or chimney has the Wasp Nano logo and name emblazoned on it.

Only the thinnest metallic ring is visible where the tank ends, since this RTA is all about saving space, with no room for a thick top cap. In fact, the top cap on this RTA is basically an extension of the 510 drip tip, which is unique in that it is a 510 further down in the throat and an 810 at the top.

The drip tip, which is made of PCTG in a colour matching the colour you chose, is basically a tapering in of the top cap.

This cap twists off easily, with the help of excellent threading and high quality o-rings, to reveal 2 ample top fill slots.

The Deck:

Now it’s time to reveal the deck, so I twist the glass and chimney away from the base, which is equally easy.

I see a super neat, super compact single coil deck, with dual posts, each with a cut out side through which you fit a lead of your coil.

Nicely threaded screws are visible, one at the top of each post.oumier wasp nano rta deck

These cut out sides can be a bitch when you are trying to fit a coil with leads that keep slipping out but Oumier has thought of this and actually added a little lip at the bottom of either cut out which will prevent slipping whilst you are in the process of laying your coil.

The airflow passes up through the posts, coming out right alongside the coil on both sides.

This airflow arrangement should also serve the purpose of minimising leakage, since liquid juice won’t survive right there next to that hot coil.

What this airflow also promises is a high flavour vape…well, we’ll just have to see about that!

This being an RTA, the deck is slightly raised, with a semi circular cut out on either end of the coil, perfect to thread a wick down and around in the recess below the raised deck.

Time to get a build on this beeeuuuutch!

Accessories

Included amongst the accessories, extra o-rings and seals, a little triple screwdriver, some organic cotton and a really nice looking 0.2 Ohm fused Clapton with 5 wraps which will just, JUST fit between the posts on that tiny little deck.

How Does The Oumier Wasp Nano RTA perform

I’ve vaped on a good number of super ‘innovative’, fancy and expensive RTA’s which didn’t come close to the flavour, vapour production or straight up vaping pleasure of the Oumier Wasp Nano RTA.

From start to finish the Nano RTA is a little winner. From the comfort of the drip tip to ease of build and smooth, clean airflow and the lack of leakage…the Wasp Nano gets a firm thumbs up from me.

Flavour on this little RTA is out of control brilliant and I must say that the included coils are really not half bad at all.oumier wasp nano rta top

The Oumier Wasp Nano RTA doesn’t overheat, though, given the flavour enjoyment that I’ve been getting off this tank, I have a tendency to overheat my juice ever so slightly by chain vaping like a lunatic on steroids.

I had no trouble reading and vaping the tank on numerous mods I fitted it to and found the 23mm size was a good in-between size so I can use it on my smaller, medium and larger mods without it looking daft on any of them.

I mean…my only real complaint is that I enjoy vaping on this RTA so much that the 2ml tank tends to empty almost every hour, lol!

How To Fill

  • Twist the top cap counter clockwise
  • Fill through one of the slots
  • Replace the top capoumier wasp nano rta fill

How To Change the Coil

  • Screw glass and chimney components off of the base and deck
  • Once the deck is revealed, loosen the screws with the provided screwdriver
  • Place your coil leads into their places in the posts
  • Tighten the screws
  • Clip the leads of the coiloumier wasp nano rta build
  • Pulse the coil from 40W up to 60W (for the included 0.2 Ohm coil) to ensure an even glow
  • Allow the coil to cool
  • Fit your chosen vape cotton
  • Reassemble
  • Fill
  • Soak
  • Vape

Stock Coil Performance

The included 0.2 ohm fused Clapton is good quality and delivers outstanding flavour and vapour production in between 40 and 70W, I found the sweet spot to be between 55 and 60W.

Ease of build

The included (3mm) coil basically fits this single coil deck with no room for error. It’s a compact fit and you need to be careful that you fit your coil perfectly evenly so that it doesn’t come in contact with either of the posts.
The lip on next to each terminal port prevents slipping while the coil is being fitted.oumier wasp nano rta wick

Once fitted, wicking is easy and a decent wick can be threaded down the sides of the deck for good soakage in that juicy haven under the deck.

Pros

  • Compact size isn’t too small nor is it too big, looks good on most mods
  • Clever airflow, smooth and prevents leakage
  • Compact deck still fits a good sized 3mm coil
  • Comfortable drip tip
  • Outstanding flavour
  • Excellent vapour production from included coils
  • All parts fitted nicely and easy to dismantle

Cons

  • No cons here

Final Review Verdict

Now, there’s nothing flashy about this RTA and it doesn’t necessarily look like it costs an arm and a leg, yet it actually doesn’t look cheap either. The drip tip/top cap gives it a funky aesthetic, as does that cool Wasp logo and… and (this is what really matters) the damn thing vapes like a superstar!

If you want a compact RBA to slip a single coil into, that’ll deliver through the roof flavour and solid vapour production, but you’re looking for it on a budget or you’d like to get all 4 colours at once, then the Wasp Nano RTA is for you.

This little winner gets full marks from me and I highly recommend it for both experienced and beginner builders.

And..

Would I buy the Oumier Wasp nano RTA again if I lost/broke the device? Definitely!
