The Aspire Zelos Nano vape kit review, and this is the very latest release in the hugely popular range of mods and kits carrying the brand name.

As the word ‘nano‘ suggests, this is a tiny little vape set-up and comes topped with the new Aspire Nano tank.

aspire zelos nano kit review

That little beauty also features the brand new Nautilus 1.0ohm mesh coil, and of course we’ll be taking a look at how that performs.

The original Aspire Zelos kit blew Jonny away when it was released back in 2017.

I recently reviewed the Aspire Zelos 3 kit, and whilst I gave it good marks, I wasn’t blown away, but still a solid vape kit..

What Can We Expect From the Aspire Zelos Nano Vape Kit?

This is predominately an MTL vape kit and that means we should be expecting a tight/ish vape.

There’s x2 coils in the box which as well as the new 1.0ohm, includes the BVC 1.8ohm.

The Aspire Zelos Nano is refreshingly easy to use and there’s a choice of power options – more on those later.

It’s topped by the pretty as a picture Aspire Nano tank which is 2ml capacity and has x5 airflow options.

OK, on with the review and this was sent direct from the good folk over at UK Aspire Vendor – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are not swayed by freebies.

Incidentally, according to Wiki, Zelos is a diety from Greek mythology that personifies dedication, emulation, eager rivalry, envy, jealousy, and zeal….now you know 😉

Let’s see if you guys are going to be envious that I’ve been sent this one…

Aspire Zelos Nano Kit Key Features

This is a Mouth To Lung [MTL] vape kit and is simple enough to operate making it ideal for the smoker looking to quit or those of us that like a tight draw – just how tight it is we shall see.

There’s no screen or menu to worry about, instead you get a three-stage power setting in variable mode OR a Bypass mode which sets the wattage to the max the chosen coil can take.

There’s two coils in the box – both MTL but expect the brand new 1.0ohm mesh to pump out a little bit more vapour than the 1.08ohm – I’ll be looking at how both coils perform in a wee while.

Speaking of coils, the Aspire Nano tank is compatible with all Nautilus BVC coils over 0.7ohm.

The Aspire Zelos Nano mod is powered by a decent sized 1600mAH internal battery and there is USB-C fast charging.

It’s topped by the 2ml capacity Aspire Nano tank which is a top fill and has adjustable airflow.

Build and Design Quality

I think it’s fair to say it’s extremely rare to find a bad build from this company and the Aspire Zelos Nano kit is no exception…the mod any way.

The Aspire Zelos Nano mod is made from aluminum alloy and has a premium if a little slippy feel to it – slippier if you get any juice on there.

The x2 buttons have a nice throw to them and apart from the x3 power settings lights – there’s a tiny LED that lights when vaping and shows the juice left in your battery.

battery voltage levels

Design wise, and the mod is elegantly simple with no gaudy logos and the Zelos Nano name has a nice font and is not at all in your face..

The Aspire Nano tank is very smart to look at, maybe a little long, and I’d loved to have seen a bubble glass option – not only for extra juice capacity – I think it might look pretty good too.

The only issue I’ve had build wise is with the Nano tank top cap. The threads are a little crunchy and a couple of times I’ve almost cross threaded…it’s small and needs a gentle touch 😉

Aspire Zelos Nano Tank Airflow

The Nano tank offers x4 airflow settings:

How Does the Aspire Zelos Nano Kit Perform?

In a nutshell, the Aspire Zelos Nano kit performs flawlessly!

It’s an intuitive vape kit with no real bells and whistles, and it does the job simply, efficiently, and dare I say with an elegance to it.

filling

The only niggle I have is the filling.

The threads on mine, are as I’ve mentioned, a little crunchy, and being small means you have to be careful getting them to bite – plenty of reversing is key!

OK< let's take a look at the coils and up first the brand new Nautilus Mesh Coil 1.0ohm. For the taste test on both coils I've used my go to Pachamama Sorbet nic salts – a lovely drop of vape juice.

Aspire Zelos Nano Kit – Nautilus Mesh Coil 1.0Ω

OK with the x3 power options you get: 13W – 14W or 15W – not such big steps.

To be honest I found on the lowest and mid level power settings, the flavour, whilst good wasn’t as tasty as it is on the max setting of 15w – only a tad mind.

Trust me the flavour is very very good indeed, maybe bringing out more of the sweeter notes in the nic salt – but still very tasty.

As for airflow?

The tightest setting is extremely tight with both coils, with 10 being super tight it’s a high 8 early 9.

I found my perfect setting on the third 1.2mm hole, and incidentally with the airflow wide open, you can get a decent restricted lung hit.

If vapour is your thing – this little coil certainly pumps it out.
aspire zelos nano coils

Aspire Zelos Nano Kit – 1x Nautilus BVC Coil 1.8Ω

Wattage settings from low to high are: 9W – 10W and 11W.

I’m on record as stating I don’t really enjoy any of the BVC coils, I just don’t find them as flavourful.

It’s the same with the 1.08ohm that comes with the Aspire Zelos Nano kit – for me at least.

No matter what setting I chose, I just wasn’t getting the flavour I expected.

What I will say is – and as you might expect – this is a ‘proper‘ MTL vape – mid 9’s with the airflow closed right down.

If you like it tight then this is the coil for you…very good vapour once again.

Pros

  • Classy design
  • Great build – mod
  • x3 power options
  • Dead simple to operate
  • Great flavour off the new 1.ohm mesh coil

Cons

  • Fill cap a little crunchy
  • 1.8ohm coil not as flavourful – subjective

Final Review Verdict

Despite a couple of niggles I really like the Aspire Zelos Nano kit.

Design wise there’s a slight niggle, as in, if you’re a matchy matchy type the tank only comes in stainless steel, and no matter what colour combo you choose.

No biggie in the scheme of things and my Space Grey version matches well enough as does the black…OK I’m nitpicking here lol.

I’ve run at least a dozen fills and still those fill-cap threads are dodgy, so do be gentle and precise.

It’s simple to use – even for the newest of vapers – it’s elegant to look at – compact and is IMHO opinion one of – if not the best vape starter kit released so far this year.

Let’s put it this way, I usually give my review samples away to smokers or new vapers – however, I might hold onto this a little while longer.

You could say I’m jealous of seeing the Zelos with someone else…

*tumbleweed rolls in*

So…

Is the Aspire Zelos Nano kit high on your vaping wish list?

Or are you already using it?

Please let me know your thoughts and comments below…we don’t bite…mostly 😉

I have simpler vape tastes these days - I never leave home without a Caliburn G, a Vaporesso Luxe 40 or Innokin EQ FLTR and a CBD vape pen or bottle of CBD drops in my rucksack...or indeed an Aspire Nautilus Prime X in my pocket... At home I'll be using various mods topped with the GeekVape Zeus X RTA or the Signature Mods Mono SQ topped with the Augvape BTFC RDA... I'm a former journalist and now a writer and sometimes author... I'm ex Army - adore dogs and never happier than hiking over the hills or with a good book on a beach.
