In today’s review we are checking out an exciting new kit from JNR- the P5 GlassRock!
Just No Reason, or JNR for short, derive their name from their mission statement, as they are a company that are passionate about trying new things and taking the risk to explore unknown territories in vaping.
They represent self-expression, and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
As a company, they also have a focus on being environmentally friendly, ensuring that all electronic components in their devices are recyclable for multiple uses, with strict adherence to international quality standards.
What Can We Expect From The JNR P5 GlassRock?
With the JNR P5 GlassRock, JNR are going big here and looking to re-define ultra-capacity refillable pod vaping, with a kit that has plenty of e-liquid and a huge battery, designed to last!
Also, JNR state that each P5 GlassRock device will last you up to 100,000 puffs, which is an incredible lifespan if that is true…
The P5 GlassRock comes equipped with not one but two prefilled pods and refill containers, with two different American-developed flavours in each kit, as well as four 10ml bottles of e-liquid giving you a total of 64ml worth of vaping!
Each pod has a 1.2ohm dual mesh coil set up, delivering a consistently smooth and powerful vaping experience with three times the lifespan of other, similar refillable pods.
A 1000mAh battery keeps you vaping throughout the day, with a smart battery screen letting you know exactly how much battery life remains, and Type-C fast charging capabilities charge the battery back up in no time at all.
There’s also ten different kits to choose from, giving you plenty of choice when it comes to flavours!
The JNR P5 GlassRock is fully compliant with MHRA and TPD standards, to ensure maximum safety, quality and peace of mind for vapers.

Design & Build Quality
It came as absolutely no surprise to me that once assembled, this is one big vape kit! This is head and shoulders above a lot of the prefilled pod systems that I’ve used recently.
The boxy, rectangular design is actually quite nice to hold in hand, and it is surprisingly lighter than it looks, though this definitely isn’t the most pocket friendly pod system to carry around.
There’s a nice two colour gradient finish on each kit, which differs depending on the flavours in the kit, on one side is the JNR P5 logo and on the other is the GlassRock one. At the base, a Type-C charging port is found.
Of course, the pod and refill container need to be assembled before use, so that the P5 GlassRock remains compliant with MHRA and TPD regulations.
Once assembled, this connects to the device magnetically, and the frosted design allows you to see exactly how much e-liquid remains in the tank.
I will say that with a couple of these kits, the pods had a tendency to leak some e-liquid, which wasn’t just condensation build up- this was a pretty noticeable leak from where the refill container connects to the pod!
Quick Start Guide
Two prefilled pods and refill containers are included in the kit, so to get started all you need to do is remove the stickers and silicone plugs from the pod and refill container, push them together, then decide which one you want to vape!
Aside from the Watermelon Ice kit, there are two different flavours in each kit to choose from, and the pod can be refilled once you’ve vaped that and the refill container dry.
How to Refill the Pod
On the side of the pod is a large silicon filling port cover (seriously, you can’t miss it!), simply pop this open and insert your bottle nozzle into the filling port before filling it all the way up.
Charging
On the base of the JNR P5 GlassRock is a Type-C charging port, though there isn’t a charging cable supplied with the device so you will need to use one you already own or purchase one separately.
Connect a Type-C charging cable to the charging port, then connect this to a suitable power source to charge the device. Charging status is displayed on the smart battery screen on the bottom of the device.
Flavours
JNR have developed 19 different flavours for the P5 Glassrock range, across ten different kits. Each one has two different flavours included in it, with the exception of the Watermelon Ice kit which only contains the aforementioned.
I was sent all ten kits to review, and here are my thoughts! No manufacturer descriptions were available, so you’ll just have to go off of what I thought of them…
Mixed Berries/ Mr Blue
Starting off with Mixed Berries, I get a very sweet combination of blackberry, raspberry and some blueberry too, there’s definitely a fair amount of sweetener present in this blend as it pretty much coated my mouth with each puff!
With Mr Blue, I get a strong note of blueberry with background notes of raspberry, finished off with a very refreshing menthol chill at the end.
Watermelon Ice
This is the only kit that features a single flavour, so if you love watermelon then you will be in luck here as you’ve got 64ml of it in the kit to enjoy!
Previous readers of my reviews will probably already know that I am not a fan of watermelon e-liquid however…
Anyway, with the JNR version, the watermelon is a candied version, and this is also loaded with quite a bit of sweetener which gives it a watermelon sweet vibe. The chill at the end is nicely done, being quite robust too.
Peach Mango Pineapple/ Watermelon Mango Peach
Oh my, I very much enjoyed the blend of peach, mango and pineapple here! I get the peach and mango flavourings first, bursting with sweetness and juiciness, before the sour pineapple comes in to finish it all off.
Watermelon Mango Peach substitutes the pineapple for watermelon, so there’s a peach and mango blend to start things off with a subtle note of watermelon at the end, and a bit of a chill too.
Blue Razz Cherry/ Blueberry Raspberry Cherry
Of course, no self respecting range can be without some blueberry inspired mixes!
Luckily, I’m pretty partial to blueberry e-liquids. Blue Razz Cherry is a decent one to start off with, the blueberry and raspberry notes are enhanced with some thick and syrupy cherry flavouring and a bit of fizz.
To be fair, I didn’t taste much difference with Blueberry Raspberry Cherry, apart from there wasn’t a fizz that I could pick up on! Other than that it tasted extremely similar to Blue Razz Cherry.
Blueberry Red Raspberry/ Blueberry Pomegranate Ice
Blueberry Red Raspberry is a pretty straightforward classic blend of blueberry and raspberry, so there’s a lot of sweet berry flavouring mixed with some sourness from the raspberry.
Blueberry Pomegranate Ice mixes blueberry with a very sharp and tart pomegranate flavouring, and has a nice strong chill from the koolada at the end to finish it off.
Fizzy Cherry Cola/ Lemon Lime
This combination was my pick of the bunch out of these kits!
I love a good cherry cola blend, and this one hit the spot for me. The balance between the cherry and cola flavours is spot on, before a very robust icy blast sweeps in to round it all off.
The chill does overpower any hint of fizziness for me however, but I do love a good strong chill in my e-liquids!
The Lemon Lime is nicely done, featuring a lovely sharp citrus tang running through the combination of lemon and lime. I loved the sourness of this blend and found it to be very refreshing.
Strawberry Ice/ Strawberry Watermelon Ice
I’ve got to give credit to JNR, this is a very tasty strawberry ice blend, one of the best ones that I have tried! There’s a heap of candied strawberry flavouring, and of course plenty of sweetener, before a strong chill comes in at the end.
Strawberry Watermelon Ice takes that deliciously well mixed, refreshing strawberry ice blend and ruins it by adding watermelon. No, I jest, actually the addition of watermelon isn’t too bad, it is more of a background note and compliments the strawberry ice pretty well!
Black Dragon Ice/ Passion Fruit Kiwi
I was very intrigued to see what Black Dragon Ice would taste like given the name!
I got a combination of blackberry with dragonfruit, which definitely made for something a little different. Both the fruits combine really well with each other, and compliment each other well.
The menthol at the end is a nice touch, and much like the other blends in this range that feature ‘ice’, the chill is nice and strong.
Passion Fruit Kiwi tasted a little subdued in comparison, and if anything the sweetener in this blend was more overpowering than the actual fruits in the blend.
Strawberry Kiwi/ Peach Berry
Strawberry Kiwi features a lot of strawberry flavouring to start off with, it is almost thick and syrupy in texture, much like a chewy strawberry sweet! The kiwi is more of a background note, and adds a bit of tartness to the blend.
Peach Berry is a very sweet blend of ripe peach flavouring with a raspberry finish, I particularly liked the sourness cutting through all the sweetener here.
Summer Peach Ice/ Green Apple Peach
Summer Peach Ice absolutely bursts with a ripe peach flavour, it is really quite intense for peach, before the ice sweeps in and refreshes my palate ready for the next puff!
Green Apple Peach features a nice interplay between a crisp green apple flavour and juicy peach, with the green apple being slightly stronger than the peach. There’s also a nice hint of koolada at the end to make for a refreshing blend.
How Does The JNR P5 GlassRock Perform?
Each pod has a a built in 1.2ohm mesh coil, with ‘revolutionary heating technology’ to deliver smooth, full flavoured vapour. These kits are set up to deliver a mouth to lung vape, and feature fixed airflow and a fixed power output.
I must say that I really enjoyed the vape that the JNR P5 GlassRock is capable of delivering for the most part, but I did run into some issues…
Alongside the leaking issues I mentioned earlier in the review, I also had some problems with the coils in some of the pods becoming flooded with e-liquid which resulted in a gurgly vape and some spit-back of e-liquid into my mouth, which wasn’t pleasant!
Aside from this, the vape is definitely smooth and enjoyable (when it isn’t gurgling or spitting e-liquid back into my mouth), with a mouth to lung draw that also produces quite an impressive amount of vapour.
Battery Life
A 1000mAh battery is built into the P5 GlassRock, which is enough to get most users through a full day of vaping.
I vape pretty heavily myself, and one of these kits would last me until late evening before I needed to put it on charge!
A nice touch is the smart battery life indicator located at the base of the kit. This tells you exactly how much battery remains as a percentage, and also flashes up quirky emojis like a smiley face and a love heart when you vape!
How Many Puffs Can You Get From A JNR P5 GlassRock Pod?
In the manufacturers blurb, JNR state that these kits are suitable for up to 100,000 puffs, which would be a phenomenal amount of vaping! I also would require a few sets of extra lungs to test that claim out…
I do think that JNR must be referring to the battery, which can be reused over and over again, combined with purchasing new pods and refill containers rather than 100,000 puffs from a single kit! You certainly wouldn’t get 100,000 puffs from 64ml worth of e-liquid.
Also, I haven’t heard of any cotton that can withstand 50,000 puffs! Though a battery can be recharged and reused over and over again, theoretically for up to a couple of years, so the device could take you to that number.
During my time with the GlassRock P5 kit, I got close to 8,000 puffs from one pod before it started having a burnt taste to it and I needed to switch to using the other pod.
Pros
- Huge amount of vaping from each kit
- Generally very good flavours on offer
- Easy to set up and vape, suitable for beginners
- Reusable kit with refill pods and containers available to purchase separately
Cons
- Pretty large kit once assembled
- Some of the pods were quite leaky
- Fixed airflow and output power
- Had some flooding issues with the coils resulting in a gurgly vape and spitback
Final Verdict
JNR have developed a great concept here, as not only do you get two prefilled pods and refill containers, but four 10ml bottles of e-liquid to keep topping it back up, giving you loads of vaping out of the box!
Plus, aside from the Watermelon Ice kit, there are two different flavours to be found in each kit, giving you a bit of variety and the ability to switch flavours quickly.
And the P5 GlassRock is built to last as well, making it an environmentally friendly prefilled pod option.
I did encounter a couple of issues whilst using these kits, namely leaking pods and the coils becoming flooded with e-liquid, which suggests there may be some QC issues here that need looking at!
All in all though, there is a lot of promise to be found with the JNR P5 GlassRock and if the issues with coil flooding and leaking can be sorted, then I am sure that JNR will have a hit on their hands here!
