The Cthulhu Iris Mesh RDA is a new release promising to be a great performing Mesh based RDA.
Cthulhu – is hard to type and harder to pronounce – have been busy lately with their controversial Squonk Genius and Hastur MTL RTA.
As you may have seen a new trend in attys is using Mesh as a heating surface. It has more surface area to atomise the E-liquid therefore should give a better performance.
However some people have found with rebuildable mesh attys that you can get dry hits as the wicking is really critical – and a mesh dry hit is really not pleasant!
On the Iris Mesh this is a vertical mesh build – so your mesh stands up from the deck.
You can use a single mesh wrapped in a circle or two pieces of mesh by turning the support posts.
The wicking is puzzling me – the Cthulhu website suggests you
“shove a whole ball, folded in half pad or massive amount of bacon at your posts. When compacted it should take up most of the room in the RDA touching the deck and going well above the posts. Please make sure cotton touch every point of the mesh”.
So there you go basically stuff as much cotton in there as you can!
This has a long squonk pin (more of a squonk post tbh!) which stands up in the deck to squirt liquid hopefully up the whole height of the coil. It doesn’t say if you get a standard 510 pin in the kit though.
There are 2 airflow rings included in the kit – to tailor for single or dual mesh coil builds – these attach to the outside of the barrel section and rotate to adjust airflow.
You can choose from two colours – Black and Stainless Steel.

Phew this is pricey! Even with pre-order deals knocking about!
However if this works as promised – the fact that hopefully you get no dry hits from your mesh and the squonk post will spray the E-liquid about nicely – this could be a good buy!
