What Is The GFN?
GFN stands for the “Global Forum on Nicotine” and each year has a different theme.
This year the theme is “Economics, Health and Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR)”.
Since it began in 2014 the GFN conference has focused on the role of safer nicotine products for harm reduction – i.e. helping people switch from harmful combustible tobacco to safer products such as e-cigarettes (vapes), snus, heated tobacco (HNB – Heat Not Burn) and nicotine pouches.
The forum is driven by the latest science and evidence and promises to tackle controversial subjects head on.
In addition to the public health role of safer nicotine products, the forum this year will also investigate the economic impact. Subjects such as healthcare savings, tax revenues and restrictions and how they will be impacted if more people switch to safer nicotine alternatives will be explored.
Every day there will be presentations, panel discussions and opportunities for Q&A (Question & Answer) sessions.
Many well respected THR advocates will be there in person and the annual Michael Russell Orations (held in honour of the late Professor Michael Russell) will feature a talk from a prominent THR advocate.

Also the popular “GFN Fives” will be running again. Basically you can submit a five minute video on the subject of tobacco harm reduction. Event Details
The event will run from Thursday 13th of June to Saturday 15th of June.
