We have been aware of the iTaste VV for a while now but are only just getting around to it now. This electronic cigarette is available in a number of places online in the UK but the one we are using for review here was from eciggykings.

E Ciggy Kings is run by a Finnish and Swedish team based out of Malta who are focusing more on providing ‘performance type’ e cigarettes such as the EGO V6 and the E-Lips starter kit.

Despite the over seas location the package was sent and received in good time. The e cig was also received free of charge for the purposes of the review. As always though we will give an honest opinion on the product.

In The Box / Presentation

itaste-electronic-cigarette-reviewThe iTaste e cig comes in a tidy presentation box an includes the following.

In the box you will find:

1 Variable Voltage Battery, 800 mAh
5 Tank Cartridges
4 Atomisers – 2, 2.6 ohm & 2, 3.2 ohm
1 USB Charger
1 Mains charger

First impressions are very good, the whole package looks very well put together.

Battery/Responsiveness

The Innokin iTaste comes with just the one manual vv battery which is 800 mAh and as a moderate vaper this sees me through a full day with no need for re-charging.

E Ciggy Kings only sell one colour at the moment (Cameleon) but it is available in a few other options as well.

For me though the Cameleon colour way, which is a black colour that has a small flecked finish to it, is definitely one of the nicest finishes available.

iTaste Review

The other thing that makes the iTaste instantly recognisable and at the same time different from other similar e cigarettes in this category is the square shape of the battery. For me it sits nicely in the hand and the change from the usual cylinder shaped e cigs is a refreshing change.

The finish of the battery on the whole is also quality with a solid feel to it, the only issue I had was the buttons that are used to change the voltage could be finished a little better as they do rattle around quite a bit at the moment. Not a massive deal but some might find it a bit annoying.

VV Function

Of course the most important part of any variable voltage e cig battery, after the battery life, is how the VV functions work.

In the case of the Innoking iTaste it works well whilst being easy to operate. There is a small digital display that shows a Puff Count, recommended voltage levels for the atomiser/cartomiser you have attached and also the actual voltage the e cig is set at.

To set your voltage all you do is press either one of the buttons under the digital display, this will first show the puff count then straight after the current voltage. At this point just press the +/- buttons to reach you required vaping voltage in 0.1V increments. You have the option to choose anywhere between 3.3V and 5V.

The puff counter is not a massive amount of use really, it doesn’t do any harm though and I suppose you can keep track easily how much you are actually vaping. The other function of the iTaste is to recommend a voltage depending on what cartomiser or atomiser you have attached.

iTaste Close UpThis is done by pressing and holding both +/- buttons until a reading shows on the digital display.

The reading isn’t an exact number more of a guide of what you want to voltage may be best to vape between.

For more advanced e cig users this may not be of much use but for those that don’t want to work that stuff out themselves then it at least gives you a good idea where you should be voltage wise.

The battery also has an on off function by pressing the main button 3 times for both on and off. One more thing worth a mention is the fact that you can still vape the iTaste whilst it is charging, this is good considering there is just the one battery. You will have to be near the power point though, this shouldn’t be a problem if you are on the computer.

Overall 4/5– The batteries look and feel are both quality with it’s solid build and slick finish. The battery life performs as expected lasting the day for my vaping habits and the functions work well. The only downside for me was the rattle of the +/- buttons which was more of an annoyance rather than getting in the way of the function.

Vapour/Flavour

The kit comes with 4 atomisers and 5 tank cartridges.

The tank cartridges are only small and fit around 1.2 ml (I think) of e-liquid, you may have to refill a few times throughout the day depending on your vaping habits.

The iTaste is different again in that it is designed with a magnetic fitting so the atomiser slots onto the battery and is held together by magnets.

iTaste Atomiser & Cartridge

Sounds like it won’t work very well but I found it to be good, it stays nice and firmly in place.

The good thing about the magnetic connection is that you can swap out cartomisers quickly without the need to screw them in. The downside is that Innokin have their own thread that is not compatible with the more common 510/KR808D connections.

There are adaptors available to allow you to use your 510/KR808D cartomisers although E Ciggy Kings do not supply these at the time of writing this review.

You will need to buy e-liquid as well as the standard version of the iTaste starter kit doesn’t have any included, E Ciggy Kings do have a good selection though and their prices for a 10ml bottle (3.60 Euros) is very reasonable.

I was sent Cherry flavoured juice which I used for the review and this flavour was decent enough.

iTaste Cartridge

On playing around with the voltage, as expected the higher you get the more throat hit and vapour you get. I found I was getting the best flavour however in between 3.8V and 4.2V, any higher and the flavour starts to diminish a little.

This will likely be different for most but that’s the beauty of this electronic cigarette, finding the perfect setting for your vaping needs.

Overall 4/5– The ‘vape’ is very good as would be expected from a VV device, the throat hit, vapour volume and flavour will change depending on the voltage you go for but you will be able to find your sweet spot. It would be good to see both the 510 adaptor being made available so larger capacity cartomisers/clearomisers can be used but this isn’t a big issue.

Overall

I really liked the Innokin iTaste electronic cigarette, the performance was good and it’s great for giving you a good vaping experience time after time as it adjusts to your personal vaping preferences.

The only things I can find against the product is that you need an adapter to use any 510/KR808D kit that you may have, these aren’t included and need to be bought separately.

This isn’t a must have though, if you don’t have 510/KR808D kit then the ‘out of the box’ product will be just fine.

When it comes to E Ciggy Kings as a retailer of the iTaste there are a few things I would like to see and the main one is to stock the adapters required to use the iTaste with current 510/KR808D kit.

They are a new company though and I can only see them getting better and having more stock options as times goes on.
