The Big Boss 250W Mod by JDI Previewed

Oooh what do we have here I hear you say! Well the JDI Big Boss 250W mod is a piggy bank busting high end stab wood mod. But will a pretty exterior alone make is a best vape mod contender?

big boss componentsStabilised wood (called Stab Wood for short) is wood which is mixed with a resin which stabilises the structure, protects it and also adds some lovely colour and pattern to the finish.

I cannot find JDI as a company online – wonder where they are hiding! I did find an Instagram account which does appear to be the same company but no link to a website.

The Instagram page however did have this gorgeous shot of the Big Boss – in an Aqua style – and just corr isn’t it a stunner!

jdi big boss instagram picThe Big Boss 250W mod as the name implies is a 250W output from 2×18650 batteries which are not included in the kit. The batteries are installed under the gold screw off battery cap covers in the mods bottom.

JDI Big boss specsThis is a very expensive mod it really is. Even at pre-order prices it is eye watering. Put it this way I have had old second hand cars which cost less than the standard price!

I am not sure if it is hand made or a limited edition – the numbers etched on the front below the USB connector do seem to be a model number. So that might explain the price.

It is beautiful and fully functional – but I think if I was spending that sort of money I would like to be able to choose at least the main colour of the device. I know Stab Wood will be random but if I could pick a Blue or Green colour base that would be enough.

Would you buy the JDI Big Boss Stab Wood mod? Comment below with your thoughts.

  1. Thanks for this might be interested had some good promos from hg before that’s where I got my first stab wood mod adt Arthur still can get the orion for $174.99 and free shipping so I’d probably go for that instead. But thanks for the heads up!

  2. Yeah seen for 280 usd which is too much. Actually aesthetics wise prefer the adt orion 250w as it’s far less angular and priced for 100 usd less. I have a couple adt stab wood mods Adonis and Arthur and recently ordered the aspen 68w for 70 usd they are ok, not the greatest build quality rough around the edges poor components plus their chips aren’t that good particularly in temp control but serviceable in wattage mode. I’d be hard pushed to spend 280 dollars on this 200 dollars perhaps but ultimately too expensive for what is essentially a mass manufactured device.
