The Artery Pal 2 Pro is up for review today, a collaboration between the brand and Tony B of the VaporTrail channel.artery pal 2 pro reviewI must say, this little guy is a pod mod with a difference! Adjustable wattage, massive flavour and replaceable coil heads…all stuff you’d never expect to see in a package as compact as this!

I’ve built up a bit of a collection of Artery Pal’s, having reviewed the original Artery Pal, the Artery Pal II and, more recently, the Artery Pal Stick.

While the brand does have a handful of regular sized sub-ohm vapes, what they really specialise in is itty bitty, compact vapes and pods.

Let me tell you all about it..

This device was sent free of charge for the purposes of review. As always my views are my own.

Design and Build Quality

First up, while the Artery Pal 2 Pro boasts a features list far longer than the original Pal, it’s considerably more compact. While it still has a credit card shape, with a 19mm thickness, it is now considerably smaller than a credit card.artery pal 2 pro main

It is, in fact, the same height and length as the Pal II, but a couple of millimetres thicker.

Which is fine, considering the screen and adjustment features.Pal 2 mod size

This zinc alloy box has a scratch-proof, matte finish, with decorative panels either side, one of which is removable.

There is a large selection of colour options, mine has gorgeous multi coloured swirls and seems quite scratch resistant.Colour options

The narrow side closest to the mouth piece has a dual airflow intake at just under the Pal2I Pro brand at the top.

At the bottom of that same side is a small hole that must be a reset hole and below that is a micro-USB port for charging.

The Side Panels

The non removable coloured panel is home to the fire button, which is in the top left hand corner. It is square, about 1cm squared, clicky and extremely quick to fire.

The removable panel has a feature of the same size and shape, which mirrors the fire button. This is not a button, however, but a little viewing window through which the coil can be seen within the cartridge.

I find this a little odd, since it is really just a hole in the panel, with no glass or screen, it looks like something is missing.

It’s not very easy to read my juice levels with any accuracy through this window.

The Screen and Controls

The panel is secured with two strong magnets, visible on the inside of the panel, once you lift it off.

Also visible once the panel is removed are a couple of those impressive new features.

A tiny OLED screen positioned on the right of the battery section, which displays battery level, pictorially, as well as resistance and wattage.artery pal 2 pro oled screen

If you can believe it, this pod has adjustable wattage…toggled with two tiny, triangular adjustment buttons, located just below the screen.

The wattage is, however, capped depending on what coil is installed. The chipset will recognise which coil is inserted and restrict to the following:

  • 1.0Ohm Coil – Max Output 13.5W
  • 0.6Ohm Coil – Max Output 22W

The screen and buttons are placed on an indented rectangle, so as to conserve space.

The Cartridge

Above the battery section we see the clear plastic, rectangular pod, which slides in from the side and protrudes out of the top, in the form of the mouthpiece.artery pal 2 pro parts

The mouthpiece has a stainless steel base ring which takes up most of its height and the rest is a removable, miniature delrin drip tip. The SS ring gives it a rather spiffy look and the drip tip is small but comfortable.

How To Fill The Arter Pal 2 Pro Pod

On the side of the pod cartridge is a silicon plug, which can be opened on one side for easy refilling.

The cartridge doesn’t need to removed from the body.how to fill the artery pal pro 2

What sets this cartridge apart is the fact that (like the Pal II) the coil head within is replaceable.

How To Replace The Coil

  • Remove the pod from the mod
  • Grip the airflow ring and unscrew
  • Once removed from the pod unscrew coil from airflow base
  • Place new coil in the airflow base and screw back into the pod
  • Important – After filling leave to sit for 10 minutes to allow the coil to soak up your e-liquid.

Airflow

The airflow, as can be seen above, is located on the bottom of the pod. You have to open the back cover to change this airflow but when you’ve got your preferred setting you don’t need to mess around with this again.

I did make the mistake of screwing my coil base in slightly skew and losing about three tanks worth of juice before I realised my error… so watch out for that!

How Does The Artery Pal 2 Pro Perform?

Using both the lower wattage and the higher wattage coil options that are included, I experienced better flavour and greater cloud production than I’ve experienced before on a pod mod.

This is the ideal pod for tricksters who need an MTL and restricted DL pod with huge soul, with which to do their thing…it’s very impressive.artery pal 2 pro replacement coils

The airflow range is perfect for anything from semi VERY restricted MTL to a restricted DL and perfectly balanced for the included coils. I found the airflow, even when highly restricted, to be incredibly smooth.

The adjustable wattage feature is a pleasure on this pod, specifically when vaping on stronger nic salts.

You will be quite surprised by the flavour and vapour production here.

I found that at the topmost wattage for the 1.0Ohm coil head, which is 13.5 watts, I’m actually getting far too much action for my stronger juices. So, it’s rather handy to be able to lower my wattage.

I also like the fact that the wattage tops out at the upper limit of the coil you have installed…so you don’t risk a burnout, as long as your coil stays damp.

This really is like a pod mod on steroids…I’ve got to say, I’m quite impressed.

Once I’d screwed in my coil base correctly, the leaking completely stopped and it has been clean vaping ever since.

1.0 Ohm 9-13W HP Coil

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best coil of this size that I have ever vaped…thick, rich, slightly warm vapour, with a full and satisfying flavour profile.

If you are using this device as a stealth vape, be sure and turn the wattage down to 9.

There is, quite simply, nothing stealthy about the vapour production of this coil head at 13W.

It’s interesting to note that, while I vaped this exact coil on the Artery Stick and enjoyed it, it performs considerably better with this device.

0.6Ohm 15-22W HP Coil

Another absolute beast of a teeny-tiny coil head.

I can taste every nuance of flavour in my vape juice and, while vapour production is excellent at the top of this coil head’s range, compared to the other, it is a little less at 13W.

I do find that vaping this coil head at 22W, while it provides a very satisfying vape, it does drain the battery a little too fast for my liking.

Battery Life

Charge is nice and fast, at under an hour…and you can expect to get 5 hours of 13W vaping, with that value diminishing if you up your wattage.

Pros

  • Extremely compact and easy to use
  • Adjustable wattage
  • Replaceable coil heads
  • Perfect for MTL and restricted DL
  • Phenomenal flavour
  • Phenomenal vapour production
  • Smooth adjustable airflow
  • Artery Pal 2 pod will work in the Pro

Cons

  • Fast battery drain at the higher wattage
  • Viewing window is unnecessary and a bit of an eyesore

Final Review Verdict

There are very few pod mods with the capacity to satisfy a sub-ohm vaper for any extended period of time.

Usually, they will get something of a cloud and flavour withdrawal, when forced to use only a pod for a few hours on end.

The vapour and flavour production on the Artery Pal 2 Pro, however, are so great that I have no trouble leaving my sub-ohm tank behind and just popping this one in my pocket before I go.

A convenient, high performance pod that truly ticks all the boxes, I recommend this pod for beginners and experienced vapers alike.

When I finally got back on the vaping train I decided to make it my business to educate beginners and vapers in general, so that they don’t jump to the conclusions that I did. 1. I think I can answer my own question – apparently, from what I can imply from the info on the product web page on the official web site, the new “HP Cores” coils are compatible with the whole line – they’re advertised as better replacements for the Pal 2 on its product page, so they’re not just for the Pro. They also look pretty much identical.

  2. Is the 1 ohm coil compatible with the non-Pro version? I’m thinking about how to get the best of both worlds because you liked the tip of the other one, and I hate the big / round ones like on this one.

  3. I disagree w build quality 9, I give it 4/10

The item is way too fragile compared to other mods. I have an experience when cleaning the circuit from leaking cartridge + the cartridge itself, and end up all of them is broke instantly(cus the build is bad, they just put a silicone at here and there to glue/combine the parts) for the cartridge, the pin is way too thin, once u open it. u won’t able to put it together tightly like the factory did, and it will cause a leaking after.
