The Black Note V e-liquid range is a relatively new addition to what many of us think is the best tobacco flavoured juice money can buy.

You might also be thinking the V stands for value – and to some extent you might be right.

black note v e-liquid review

However, don’t think value as in cheap ingredients – as you shall see, this range is as far away as you can get from those nasty pound shop harsh tobacco e-liquids.

Yes they are cheaper than the flagship Black Note classic e-liquids that I bloody adore, but are they worthy of the brand and what’s the difference to make them cheaper?

Simply put, the original range of juice are made from small batches of single tobacco leaves whilst the Black Note V e-liquids uses a combination of several different leaves but all from the same variety.

Kind of like a pint of craft beer compared to a pint of tap beer 😉

What Can We Expect From the Black Note V E-liquids?

As always – we want flavour – bags of it lol.

As to if they do deliver – we shall see.

OK, the full range of 5 juices – all 50/50 VG/PG – were sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review from our very good friends at Vapour.co.uk – thanks very much Carla 😉

Here at EcigClick we have a very close working relationship with this awesome UK based online vape store and as you know, they kindly sponsor our hugely popular Vape Awards – so another thanks 🙂

vapour-uk

Despite all that, as always I cannot be swayed by freebies and my thoughts and opinions are my own, though as I keep saying, these days toilet rolls might tempt me to sway…

Keep in mind taste is subjective and given I can be a cantankerous old bugger when it comes to e-liquid reviews, please bare that in mind 😉

As always for my MTL e-liquid reviews, I used the flavourful GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA wicked with Kendo Gold cotton at 21w.

As you can see, the range is named after certain genres of music, so let’s see if they’ve rocked my world and are vaping virtuoso performers – ouch sorry 😛

Black Note V E-liquid – Italian Blend – ROCK

black note v range rock italian blend review

Black Note Says:

Strong and Complex

A fire-cured Italian Kentucky blend is at the heart of this robust blend, the same variety of tobacco found in the Italian Toscano cigar.

This distinctive blend maintains the unaltered characteristic of its leaf, which you’ll experience as a caramelized sweetness upon exhalation.

I Say:

I’m on record as saying, and despite being a vaper, that I still enjoy a good cigar on special occasions…hey don’t come for me lol.

Indeed I was a very regular cigar smoker back in the day and have enjoyed some exceptional ones – if a little expensive!

OK, enough about my bad habits! Has Black Note pulled off the perfect cigar flavoured vape?

Absolutely they have and trust me this is e-liquid blending wizardry!

The aroma from the bottle is a little muted if I’m honest, with a hint of dry sweetness.

However, on the inhale your brain really is ready to clamp your lips down on a fat cigar and the throat hit is bloody awesome.

The magic continues on the flavour layered exhale – with that lingering hint of caramel tamed by the rich yet dry tobacco.

The clouds really do smell like an expensive cigar – like I said – magic!

This is bloody delicious – replicates a cigar perfectly and really does ROCK!

Black Note V E-liquid – American Blend – JAZZ

black note v e-liquid review american blend jazz

Black Note Says:

Smooth and Fruity

This American blend gets its special flair from aged and fermented tobaccos in oak barrels, which adds a woody tone to its overall essence.

The extremely pleasant and satisfying taste features just a hint of natural sweetness that further enhances the complex blend.

I Say:

I was also a big red pack Marlboro smoker before switching to roll-ups and was expecting this one to taste similar.

I was wrong!

Once again the aroma from the bottle is low key, but you can definitely tell this is a lit tobacco blend – remember that tangy, sweet almost musty smell from an opened packet of cigs?

The inhale is dry – very dry, replicating a smoother lit cigarette than the deep robust density of the Marlboro mix.

I say smooth, however, the throat hit is perfect and really does give your tonsils quite a heavy tickle.

It’s on the exhale and just as the vapour hits your taste buds where that earthy natural tobacco sweetness lays in waiting in the background.

The end result is a perfect balance of dryness lifted by those gentle sweet tones.

No JAZZ or razzmatazz with this one – just an almost perfect taste of a lit cigarette.

Black Note V E-liquid – English Blend – POP

black note v e-liquid review pop english blend

Black Note Says:

Rich & Relaxing

A fruity background works behind the scenes in this English blend, producing a fully aromatic experience reminiscent of pipe tobacco.

This rich and relaxing blend is both pleasant and impressive, with a vivid flavor that stirs up the senses.

I Say:

Yeah, I’m going to say it – I smoked a pipe too!

It was back in my ‘wanting to be a novelist‘ days and I was in my mid-twenties and probably looked a right twat…a hipster before they were cool lol.

So, as you can guess, this Black Note V e-liquid is meant to replicate pipe tobacco.

Given the closest I’m getting to a good shag these days is through pipe flavoured e-liquid – [steady now shag is a tobacco mix you dirty minded buggers!] – and given I love deep rich tobacco flavoured juices, I was very excited to try this one.

Weirdly, and again, the aroma from the bottle is subdued to say the least with the merest hint of a citrus tang – and I mean the slightest.

The inhale is a sheer joy, which makes me sound frightfully posh, but there’s no other way to describe this one.

Those deep dense tobacco notes fill your mouth with layer upon layer of depth whilst that stunning citrus natural sweet lingers on the back note.

There is a throat hit, it’s but smooth and satisfying, before those sparkling fruit notes combine creating one of the most delicious and moreish flavours I’ve ever tasted!

This one most definitely hits the spot and one all tobacco flavoured loving vapers should POP into their tanks as soon as they can – wondrous stuff!

Black Note V E-liquid – Menthol Blend – REGGAE

reggae mint flavour e-liquid

Black Note Says:

Menthe & Crisp

Reggae starts with a bright base of blended flue-cured bright Virginia tobacco grown in the French plains.

The blend is then enhanced with an overlay of natural mint, extracted from fresh peppermint and spearmint leaves, for an invigorating fresh menthol taste.

I Say:

I really struggle to enjoy menthol flavoured e-liquids, so my nose wrinkled a little at the prospect of tasting this one.

However, as a big fan of reggae – especially old school dancehall style – [showing my age again lol] – I was intrigued.

And of course being the consummate vape reviewing professional [that’s pushing it a bit] I of course have to put it to the taste test.

OK, menthe is French for mint, and as you can see by the ingredients there’s peppermint and spearmint added to the mix.

As you might expect with a minty vape, the smell from the bottle is spectacularly fresh.

The inhale really and I mean really reminds me of those Trebor Extra Strong mints I love and really does refresh your taste buds before delivering an almost icy hit to the back of your throat.

Strong on the menthe this one ain’t!

The exhale brings in a lovely natural sweetness, that lingers and feels like it’s cleansing both your mouth and palate – awesome scented clouds too – very fresh!

For someone who tends to shy away from menthol e-liquid, this one has won me over and those tobacco and mint notes really are JAMMING in my mouth!

Black Note V E-liquid – Oriental Blend – HOUSE

oriental blend house

Black Note Says:

Pleasant and Light

A flavour blend created from the classic small leaves of Oriental tobacco.

Grown and cured by the sun in complex Southern Mediterranean soils.

While delicate, the blend is likewise complex, spicy, and sweetly aromatic.

I Say:

The use of the word oriental is a little misleading as in fact this is a Turkish blend, it’s just a name that’s stuck through the ages!

I used to bloody love Turkish tobacco, and have enjoyed some very good e-liquid mixes too.

There’s more of an aroma from the bottle with this one, hinting at that gorgeous sweet spiciness to come.

On the inhale you really are in for a treat if you have a sweet tooth, with a cacophony of caramel and natural sweetness with that underlying hint of mysterious spices on the very edge of your taste buds.

There’s a decent throat hit, definitely enough to satisfy those who enjoy their tonsils tickled, before this stunning blend washes over your tongue.

What can I say other than this is a quite extraordinary tobacco flavoured e-liquid – and then some!

It hints of dryness – transforms to a deep rich body – washes in the perfect amount of natural sweetness before that hint of spice adds yet another amazing layer.

Yup – this one brings the HOUSE down!

Final Review Verdict

Just wow!

Once again the mixologists over at Black Note have absolutely smashed it.

I said at the start I wondered if the V in the Black Note V e-liquids stood for value – and whilst they are cheaper than the main range, I reckon V stands for it’s VITAL you try these!

And not just the tobacco e-liquid lovers either, whilst they are of course tobacco based, the depth they’ve put into them will make a refreshing change from the fruits, creams and candy vapers among you.

I can’t recommend these enough and especially to the die-hard fans of the exquisite Black Note flagship range fans – these are just as good with all of them deserving of a spot at the so called top!

What more can I say?

Go buy some 😉

So…have you tried any of the Black Note V e-liquid range?

If so which is your favourite?

I have simpler vape tastes these days - I never leave home without a Caliburn G, a Vaporesso Luxe 40 or Innokin EQ FLTR and a CBD vape pen or bottle of CBD drops in my rucksack...or indeed an Aspire Nautilus Prime X in my pocket... At home I'll be using various mods topped with the GeekVape Zeus X RTA or the Signature Mods Mono SQ topped with the Augvape BTFC RDA... I'm a former journalist and now a writer and sometimes author... I'm ex Army - adore dogs and never happier than hiking over the hills or with a good book on a beach.
