Plus, it benefits from not only being compatible with the included 0.6 and 0.8ohm Ayce Pro pods, but the full range of OXVA Xlim V2 and V3 pods too!

Ayce Pro pods have a 2ml e-liquid capacity with an easy to use top filling system. There are condensation-absorbent cotton layers in the base to guard against condensation and leakage. A durable coil set up increases lifespan of the pods and enhances flavours, especially with sweet and cooling flavours.

Design and Build Quality

I was sent the Nacre Silver kit by Vape Club for the purposes of this review and my god is it ever a looker! I had absolutely no idea what Nacre was, a quick Google tells this man of little culture that Nacre is “Mother-Of-Pearl” – so there you go!

The Nacre texturing ensures that each individual Ayce Pro pod kit has a unique texture to it and it really does make for a pretty device. It has got to be one of the best looking pod systems that I have had my hands on, that is for sure.

dovpo branding

There’s Silver coloured accents around the nacre design, these do however have a tendency to pick up small scratches as well as your fingerprints.

In The Hand

It is lovely to hold in the hand too, the design of the device is very palm friendly. The singular button located underneath the screen as well as the airflow control on the side are both easy to use and operate with one hand.

OLED Screen

Also found on the Ayce Pro is a 0.42 inch OLED screen, that shows the current power level, battery life, puff count and coil resistance.

Pods

Ayce Pro pods come in 0.6 and 0.8ohm varieties, both of which come included with the kit.

These connect magnetically to the Ayce Pro device and stay locked in place until you pull it out.

battery and pod

The pods have a clear viewing window so you can see exactly how much e-liquid you have left in the tank. Though you still need to remove the pod to check exactly how much is left once it drops down to about a quarter full.

Quick Start Guide

Single button operation is the name of the game here, which is handy as there is only the one button present on the kit!

ayce pro operation

  • Five clicks of the power button turn the Ayce Pro on and off.
  • Adjusting the airflow is done by using the smooth airflow slider on the side of the device.
  • Wattage can be adjusted by pressing the power button three times continuously. From there, just keep clicking the button until you reach your desired power output (it adjusts in 0.5W increments), or hold the button down to quickly scroll through power settings. Then just leave it or take a puff to lock in the setting.
  • Push the power button to fire or just take a draw on the pod to fire it, as auto-draw is also present here.
  • If the power button is of no use for you to fire the Ayce Pro and don’t wish to use it (and I don’t, I find a power button for the purposes of firing a pod system that already has an auto-draw system as useful as a screen door on a submarine), it can be locked by pressing the button four times consecutively. You’ll still be able to use it to adjust functions.
  • You can reset the puff counter by pressing the power button eight times in 2.5 seconds.

Safety protections are also built into the device, with low battery, low atomiser resistance, short circuit, overheating and 10 second vape time protections.

How To Fill the Dovpo Ayce Pro Pod

  • Remove the mouthpiece to expose the large circular filling port – don’t use the smaller hole!
  • Insert bottle nozzle and squeeze the bottle to fill up the 2ml pod capacity. Just be careful not to overfill it and have e-liquid come spilling back out.

how to fill dovpo ayce pro podIf using a pod for the first time, Dovpo recommend that you leave it for around 5-8 minutes to allow the e-liquid to properly saturate the cotton in the coil. This will increase coil longevity and help guard against dry hits.

The pod can be filled without even having to remove it from the device.

How to Charge the Dovpo Ayce Pro

The Dovpo Ayce Pro supports 5V/1A charging using the included USB Type-C charging cable.

To charge the device, plug it into the charging port at the base and then into a power source.

How Does The Dovpo Ayce Pro Pod Kit Perform?

You get a 0.6ohm Ayce Pro pod pre-installed on the device, which is designed for restricted direct lung vaping and a 0.8ohm Ayce Pro pod for mouth to lung vaping. Both of these pods feature a mesh coil system.

dovpo ayce pro pod

Power output of the device is determined by the resistance of the coil in your pod. If you are using the 0.6ohm pod you’ll be restricted to using a power output range of 15-25W and 13-18W if using the 0.8ohm pod.

Dovpo state that this is to guard against burning out the coil, but some people might find this restrictive.

dovpo ayce pro full pod

Needless to say, I haven’t been able to test out the full 30W capability of this kit, which I’m sure is unlocked if using pods that feature coil resistances lower than 0.6ohm. Perhaps this option might be available if using the 0.4ohm OXVA Xlim V3 pods for the Xlim and SQ Pro?

Let us know in the comments if you have tried this out!

I’ve also not tested the compatibility with Xlim V2 and V3 pods as I didn’t have any of these to hand unfortunately.

30% Increase In Flavour Intensity?

So, Dovpo market the Ayce Pro pods as offering a 30% increase in flavour intensity when using sweet and cooling e-liquid flavours compared to other pods on the market.

God knows where they got that figure from!

I have got to say that when testing a few of the sweet flavours from the IVG 6000 range, the flavour did seem slightly more intense than a few other pod systems that I have tried, but I wouldn’t say it was any better than the Vaporesso XROS Pro or Voopoo Argus P1s for example.

dovpo ayce pro black with juice

Don’t get me wrong, the flavour is very impressive with the Ayce Pro pods, but I wouldn’t say there’s a staggering difference that would make me choose this over some of my other pod systems for example.

Certainly not a 30% jump in flavour intensity…whatever metric you would use to measure that!

It’s no slouch when it comes to dessert and tobacco based e-liquids either, I got excellent flavour when testing the Unreal Desserts e-liquids in them, as well as a couple of my long time favourites such as The Milkman nic salt as well as Manabush Powwow Sauce and Chiricahua Sun.

Restricted DL Hit / Mouth to Lung

Restricted direct lung hits are absolutely perfect on this kit with the 0.6ohm pod and the airflow fully open. I’d recommend using 20-25W as your power output range as the vape is quite weak at 15-20W.

airflow on dovpo ayce pro

I had no issues mouth-to-lung’ing the 0.8ohm pod at 15-18W with the airflow just under halfway open and at 18W and the airflow fully open you can still get a restricted lung hit with this pod.

Though if restricted lung hits are your thing, stick with the 0.6ohm pod.

Three Day Battery Life?

Another fairly big claim is that the battery technology allows the 1000mAh built in battery to last three days. And I’m sure it would last three days if you limited yourself to about 300 puffs per day on this and dialled the power right down….

However, back in the real world, it doesn’t last three days with everyday usage. I vape pretty heavily and can stretch (and I mean really stretch) battery life to a day and a half with the 0.6ohm pod and two days with the 0.8ohm pod.

Realistically I’m charging this at the end of each day as I’m not confident enough in it to last any longer.

It will get you through a full days’ worth of vaping with no trouble at all, in line with some of my favourite pod systems. And to be honest I always end up chucking my pod systems on charge at the end of each day anyway!

Pros

  • Looks the absolute part and has loads of different attractive colour options
  • Easy plug and play pod system
  • Compatible with a wide range of different pods
  • Top filling system is a breeze to use
  • Offers value for money at £17.99
  • Has variable wattage and adjustable airflow to customise your vape
  • MTL and restricted DTL options
  • Good step up from disposable vapes

Cons

  • Power button is a bit pointless for firing the device, but handy for changing menu settings
  • Battery doesn’t last three days
  • Can be easy to overfill the pod if you aren’t too careful
  • Very occasional episodes of the vape cutting in and out briefly whilst taking a draw
  • Power output range restricted by the resistance of your coil

Final Verdict

In this day and age, especially with the impending disposable vape ban, you really should be looking at picking up a kit like this if you are still using disposable vapes.

Not only do you get a much better vape than you would from a disposable, over time you’ll end up saving money. Also using a pod system over throwaway disposables is much better for the environment. You’ll find a lot of the big name disposable brands have released their flavours as e-liquids too!

Climbing down from my soapbox, the Dovpo Ayce Pro offers a great, customisable vape that suits mouth-to-lung and restricted direct lung hits. It fares very well with both nicotine salt-based e-liquid and traditional freebase nicotine e-liquid.

Plus, having the ability to choose from the Ayce range of pods as well as the OXVA Xlim V2 and V3 range of pods gives you a wide range of pod options to choose from.

Finally, the Dovpo Ayce Pro is a very competitively priced pod system option, there’s a lot to like in this respect.

So, what are your thoughts on the Dovpo Ayce Pro, is this a pod system that is attractive to you?

Vaping full time since 2012, started on cigalikes for a while then curiosity got the better of me and I moved onto an vape pens, a month or two later I was seeing people walking around with these interesting shiny tubes and I thought 'I gotta get one of those'. Before I knew it a trip down to my local B&M got me my first VW mod, an Innokin SVD, paired with an iClear 30, and I was hooked. Soon after that I was jumping to VW mods both box and tube shaped, before I then made the jump to rebuilding and thus sub ohming, with my first RDA and mech mod. These days I've come back to convenience and mainly use pods, disposables and the VOOPOO Drag H40. Most importantly I am still loving vaping!

  1. Great review. Shame Michelle couldn’t have reviewed this one for a more direct comparison to the OXVA Xlim stuff seeing as she’s so familiar with that line.
