Design & Build Quality
The Geek Bar Spark is a pen-styled device that is simple, elegant and chic, with a familiar cylindrical design that makes the Spark comfortable to hold in hand as well as being easy to slip into your pocket.
Geek Bar’s logo is subtly found above the screen, and on the opposite side to this is the GB logo along with the relevant CE safety markings.
There is a little design flaw present, whereby the screen did not sit flush to the body of the device on all of the Spark kits that I received for review.
It’s something that doesn’t really bother me, and as I was reviewing pre-release devices this may well be fixed on the retail versions.
As for the screen itself, it is pretty basic and straightforward, lighting up when I take a puff to display the battery life and a nice animation that is reminiscent of a meteor shower.
It is basic but it does the job and definitely doesn’t overload you with information!
Quick Start Guide
There’s an extremely simple set up process with the Geek Bar Spark!
- Just take the pod out of it’s wrapping
- Remove the silicone from the pod
- Pop it into the top of the Spark device, where it will connect magnetically and be held firmly in place.
Each prefilled pod is ready to vape, so you just take a puff on the mouthpiece to vape.
Once you have finished the pod, dispose of it and replace it with a new one.
Charging
A Type-C charging port is located on the base of the Spark device, and the device charges at a 5V/1.5A rate, meaning that you can get up to 80% charge in just under 20 minutes.
Ideal if you are in a hurry!
Whilst the device is charging, the display will show you how far along it is.
Flavours
At launch, there are 19 flavours available, with more planned to come in the future.
Tropical Punch
With this Tropical Punch blend, I got three dominant flavours with a citrus vibe most definitely taking centre stage.
The citrus element comes from a strong Florida Orange type of flavour, that is backed up with strawberry and peach notes in the background.
The three flavours combine together seamlessly and provide a very pleasant vape!
Lemon Lime
This Lemon Lime blend goes for the lemon and lime ice lolly type of flavour, but it lets the lemon and lime take centre stage with only a small hint of a cooling sensation in the background.
The sweetness level is dialled down slightly when compared to some of the similar blends out there, allowing the citrus notes to really become prominent.
Apple Cider

And coming from that part of the world, I am most definitely accustomed to that taste!
The apple flavouring is pleasantly crisp, and I was definitely left with a very similar mouthfeel to a swig of cider…
Moonshine Cherries
Moonshine Cherries is an interesting one, I was expecting a full frontal cherry flavour here!
Well, I still got a full frontal red cherry blast, but it was paired with a tangy raspberry flavour that becomes more prominent on the exhale.
Pink Lemonade
I’ve noticed a bit more of a trend recently where the ‘pink’ part of pink lemonade is provided by a watermelon flavour, but thankfully this blend bucks that trend!
Geek Vape’s Pink Lemonade blends grapefruit, with its sour and tangy notes, with a citrus lemonade flavour that has a bit of tang to it, finished off with a refreshing coolness.
There’s perhaps a little too much sweetener here for me as I couldn’t vape this one continuously but if you have a sweet tooth you’ll love this!
Watermelon Ice
Not too much to say here, this is your pretty standard candied watermelon flavour with a cooling element present. The watermelon isn’t overly artificial tasting, and I think the cooling element takes some of the edge off of it here.
It is one of the few Watermelon Ice blends that I find to be vapeable!
Strawberry Ice
Again, a pretty straightforward blend, I got fresh and sweet strawberry with a pleasant icy finish to it.
The strawberry is backed up with quite a lot of sweetness, which might put you off if you don’t like overly sweet blends, but I found it to be very vapeable and moreish!
Kiwi Passion Fruit
Ah, the old disposable vape favourite!
Geek Vape have done a great job of distilling the disposable styled Kiwi Passion Fruit blend, so you get an exotic blend of passion fruit with an undertone of kiwi with a robust amount of sweetener and a subtle cooling note too.
Blueberry Ice
Blueberry Ice is one of the more popular flavours on the market and Geek Vape’s version is one of the better ones out there.
This blend is positively packed with blueberry flavouring, and the icy finish is subtle and cool to compliment the sweet blueberry.
Mango Smoothie

Mango Smoothie blends a delicious, ripe tasting mango flavour with a lovely smooth finish that has a bit of a creamy texture to it. The blend is absolutely spot on, I could close my eyes and almost be slurping an authentic mango smoothie through a straw…
It’s a very easy going and moreish vape that I couldn’t get enough of, so much so that I blasted through the two pods I had for review in no time at all!
Strawberry Lime
Strawberry Lime pretty much does what it says on the tin- it’s a balanced blend of fresh tasting strawberry and lime.
The strawberry is juicy and authentic tasting, with the lime flavouring complimenting it by providing a zingy citrus texture and a bit of sourness to contrast with the sweet strawberry.
Pulse Ice
With Pulse Ice I got an energy drink vibe to this, which isn’t usually my cup of tea but I actually didn’t find it too bad!
The energy drink element isn’t too harsh or artificial tasting like some other blends that I have tried out in the past, and it contrasts well with some tropical fruit notes to be found in the blend.
Sour Apple Ice
Sour Apple Ice provides a bitingly sour apple flavour, much like the flavour profile from a sour apple chew sweet.
The sourness gives way to a subtle icy finish, which takes some of the edge off of the sour apple flavour and refreshes my palate ready for the next hit.
For a fan of icy sour flavours like myself, this blend was a real treat!
Grape Ice
As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, I love an authentic tasting grape vape but I don’t get on too well with the artificial grape soda type flavours!
Thankfully this one goes for an authentic black grape flavouring, and the icy finish gives it a mouthfeel similar to eating fresh grapes straight from the fridge.
This one was definitely a winner in my books!
Sour Pineapple
Remember those pineapple cube sweets you could get as a kid in pick n mix? I used to buy them by the bagful from my local newsagents!
Sour Pineapple captures that vibe perfectly, from the sweet taste of pineapple that gives way to a tangy sour finish at the end.
Geek Vape have crafted this one pretty much perfectly!
Pineapple Lemon Fizzy

There wasn’t much in the way of pineapple or a fizzy note here for me, the pineapple was relegated to more of a background note as a very sharp and sweet lemon flavour is the most dominant one to be found.
The vibe that I got from this was more of a Lemon Sherbet than a Pineapple Lemon Fizzy combo!
How Does The Geek Bar Spark Perform?
Adaptive Output ensures that the Geek Bar Spark provides a consistent vape by automatically adjusting the power output depending on the resistance of the coil in your pod.
This can vary depending on whether you are using the refillable 0.8ohm Spark pod or the 1.1ohm prefilled version!
I did not receive the refillable pod for review, but based on my testing with the 1.1ohm prefilled pod I did get a consistent vape from the start of a fresh pod to the end of it, and the battery life didn’t affect this either.
Vapour is quite plentiful too, which was surprising when this provides a fairly tight mouth to lung vape that is comparable to the pen shaped disposable vapes of old.
When it comes to battery life, the Geek Bar Spark is absolutely solid for a pen-styled device of its size.
Whereas other similar devices will struggle to see you through a full day’s worth of vaping, the Geek Bar Spark is able to last the whole day with ease- it even lasted me well into a second day before needing a charge on more than a few occasions and I do vape heavily!
The fast charging capability is really handy too, as if you are running one of these as your sole vaping device you won’t have to wait around long whilst it recharges.
How Many Puffs Do You Get From A Geek Bar Spark Prefilled Pod?
Each pod is rated to last up to 1000 puffs, but this can be affected by how frequently you vape and how long you puff on the device.
When testing out the Mango Smoothie version, I got 622 puffs from a single pod, which might not be 1000 but it is far higher than a lot of prefilled 2ml pods that I have tried out in the past!
In fact, this is one of the most economical when it comes to e-liquid consumption, and it does this without compromising on vape quality.
I also had absolutely no leaks from the pods when using them.
With many other 2ml prefilled pods, I could vape through a single pod in less than a day, but with a Geek Bar Spark pod I would always get just a little more than a full day from a single one.
Pros
- Solid flavour line-up
- Pods do pack a flavourful punch on the whole
- Extremely easy set up process
- Beginner friendly pod system
- Reusable device
- Cost effective vaping option
Cons
- Screen is not actually flush to the device
- For MTL vaping only, no RDL option
- Very fruit-heavy range of prefilled pods
Final Verdict
I have tried out some Geek Bar disposable vapes in the past, and I was impressed with the strength of the flavours whenever I vaped those.
I feel that this is a real strength with the Geek Bar Spark range of prefilled pods, as these provide bold and intense flavours with each prefilled pod, which were certainly more full bodied than a lot of other competitors!
The device is compact and very easy to get to grips with, offering instant familiarity to anyone that used to use a similar shaped disposable device.
The draw is similar too, so if you are transitioning over from disposables then this is an excellent option.
It’s one of the easiest reusable pod systems you’ll get your hands on, as all you need to do is install a pod and vape!
Plus, you can get plenty of vaping out of it as well thanks to the 800mAh battery.
Many thanks to Geek Bar for sending the Spark in for review!
