Elf Bar are expanding their ELFX refillable pod kit range further with the Elf Bar ELFX Mega, which we will be looking at in this review!
Over the years, Elf Bar have quickly grown into one of the most recognisable and one of the largest vaping brands in the industry, mainly due to the success of their Elf Bar and Lost Mary product lines.
Recently, they’ve turned their hand to refillable pod systems with the ELFX line, featuring some excellent options such as the Elf Bar ELFX Ultra, ELFX and ELFX Mini.
They’ve also got a couple of e-liquid lines too to pair with your refillable pod system, with the Lost Mary Nic Salts and ELFLIQ e-liquid ranges!
What Can We Expect From The Elf Bar ELFX Mega?
As the name might suggest, Elf Bar are aiming for Mega performance with the ELFX Mega- a pod system boasting huge battery life and a massive power output!
Elf Bar have designed the ELFX Mega to be a smooth and responsive refillable pod system that has adjustable airflow to cater to both mouth to lung (MTL) and restricted lung (RDL) vaping styles.
With a 2800mAh battery, supported by Type-C fast charging, the ELFX Mega is your vaping companion that never lets you down, with battery life for literal days, making it a smart choice for long-lasting everyday vaping!
There’s a maximum power output of up to 32W, with effortless inhale activation and single button operation allowing you to switch between eco and turbo output modes easily.
An OLED display shows clear information in real time, making it easy to keep track of how much battery life remains and which output mode is currently selected.

Design & Build Quality
For a refillable pod system that boasts a huge 2800mAh battery, this is a boxy and fairly chunky bit of kit, with dimensions of 111mm x 35mm x 26mm.
It does actually feel quite light in my hand however, I was expecting it to feel heavier, due to it’s size it is certainly a pocket filler and definitely noticeable when I carry it around!
There are six different finishes to pick from, with silver, black, purple, green, cyan and navy options. Build materials aren’t premium, not that I was expecting them to be for a device in this price range, but they do the job!
The front of the device features the airflow adjustment slider, my issue with the position of this was that I could occasionally accidentally cover this up depending on how I held the device, resulting in a draw that was tighter than expected!
A basic OLED screen is present, which also has a button at the base of it, this displays basic information including the remaining battery life and whether the device is in eco or turbo mode.
There’s no puff counter present here!
Pods have been specially designed for the ELFX Mega, these feature a 2ml capacity and have QUAQ Mesh Coil technology inside.
When inserted into the device, only the mouthpiece is visible, therefore to check how much e-liquid remains in the pod and to fill it, you’ll need to remove the pod from the device.

How to Fill the Pod
As mentioned above, you’ll need to remove the 2ml ELFX Mega pod from the device in order to fill it.
The filling port is located on the side of the pod, just pop the silicon filling port cover open and insert the bottle nozzle of your e-liquid bottle into the filling port and fill away.
If you are filling a pod for the first time, make sure you leave the e-liquid to sit in the pod for at least five minutes before you use it.
This allows the cotton in the coil to fully abosrb the e-liquid, which cuts down on the risk of dry hits happening and prolongs the lifespan of the coil.
Operation
To lock/turn off the device, press the function button five times in quick succession. An auto draw system is used on this device, so you don’t press the function button to fire it, just take a draw on the mouthpiece of your pod.
Eco and Turbo modes are available, to switch between these just press the function button. The selected output will be displayed on the screen.
You can also adjust the airflow for MTL or RDL vaping by using the airflow adjustment slider located on the front of the device.
Charging
A Type-C charging port is located on the base of the ELFX Mega, just plug in a Type-C cable and use a suitable power output to charge the device.
It charges at a rate of 5V/1A, and the charging status is displayed on screen whilst charging.

How Does The Elf Bar ELFX Mega Perform?
With the ELFX Mega, you get a 0.6ohm ELFX Mega pod included, which gives you the opportunity to vape both MTL and RDL depending on your selected power and airflow setting.
The ELFX Mega is capable of outputting up to 32W of power, which is dependent on the resistance of the pod, battery life and whether the device is in Eco or Turbo mode.
Eco mode will lower the power output, resulting in a more subtle vape that suits MTL vaping well, whereas Turbo mode will up the output resulting in a more intense vape for RDL vaping.
If you are making the switch from disposables or prefilled pods, and are used to the nicotine salt based e-liquids used in those, then you will be pleased to know that this device offers a great vape with nicotine salt based e-liquid, such as the ELFLIQ or Lost Mary ranges!
Flavour
I’ve tried out a fair few of Elf Bar’s ELFX pods over the past year, and thanks to the QUAQ Mesh Coil technology these really do hold up superbly well when it comes to flavour and compete with some of the best on the market.
There’s an intense and flavourful vape present, which is very noticeable when vaping fruity nicotine salt e-liquids, elevating those fruit flavoured notes and delivering a richer vape as a result.
Pod Lifespan
These are rated to last up to 100ml worth of refills by Elf Bar, which will take most users through a week or two’s worth of vaping!
During my time with the ELFX Mega, I got almost a week and a half with the ELFX Mega pod before I started to get burnt hits, which is some very good lifespan indeed.
Airflow
The airflow slider on the front of the device offers a couple of limited options, essentially if you push the slider up to the top it will display ‘MIN’ and have a small airflow hole open, if you pull it down to the bottom it will display ‘MAX’ and have a larger airflow hole.
‘MIN’ is for mouth to lung vaping, you’ll get a tight, disposable styled draw here and it works better with the Eco mode.
‘MAX’ is for restricted direct to lung, you’ll want to use Turbo mode to get the best out of it otherwise the vape will be a bit weak. This is without a doubt the cloudier setting too, rather unsurprisingly!
Battery Life
The massive 2800mAh battery is one of the key selling points of the ELFX Mega, and this delivers some serious battery life!
I can get days out of this, even vaping heavily in Turbo mode I still only needed to charge it after two and a bit days, with Eco mode it lasts even longer.
Given the size of the battery this is a great device to take out and about or on short trips without having to worry about battery life.

Final Verdict
Elf Bar have made another great addition to the ELFX refillable pod range with the ELFX Mega!
This definitely is best suited to a heavy user, given the enormous battery that is built into this pod system powering you through extended vaping sessions.
Though, thanks to how easy it is to use this kit, anyone can get to grips with it, as you can just fill a pod and get vaping, enjoying the tasty vape that the QUAQ-powered ELFX Mega pods provide.
Thanks to that ease of use, it’s a really solid option to consider if you are moving to refillable pod systems from disposables or prefilled pods, you’ll get a bit more out of this device plus the reusablility of it will save you money in the long term!
