OXVA have been firmly establishing themselves as one of the top manufacturers out there, and the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra is the latest device from them!
This is a special release alongside the recently reviewed OXVA XLIM PRO 3 to celebrate OXVA’s sixth anniversary, and over those past six years OXVA’s devices have regularly topped the best pod lists in many vaping publications.
The XLIM range is now regarded as one of the best ones out there, with the XLIM PRO and XLIM PRO 2 kicking things off and being followed up with additions such as the XLIM GO 2, XLIM Pro 2 DNA and the XLIM SQ Pro 2.

Design & Build Quality
Much like the OXVA XLIM PRO 3, the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra takes design cues from racing cars, and is constructed from Zinc Alloy and PCTG.
I received the Ultra Carbon finish for my review device and the racing car design inspiration is more evident when I turn the device over to reveal the beautiful gold and black carbon fibre finish.
I must say that I absolutely love the looks and design of the device and it is a real stunner to look at, one of the best looking pod systems that I have ever had my hands on!
It is only just a touch larger than the OXVA XLIM PRO 3, with dimensions of 121.9mm x 16.5mm x 28.9mm and a weight of 90g, making this device a very comfortable one to hold and a pocket friendly device too.
A range of eight premium finishes are available, with Ultra Carbon, Mocha Brown, Midnight Black, Bordeaux Red, Metal Gray, Metal Silver, Cherry Pink and Mint Green to choose from.
Touchscreen devices have really taken off over the past year or so and it seems like with each new release, the technology behind them is refined even further.
OXVA really take this technology to the next level with the 2.2inch full high definition touch screen that is present on the XLIM 3 Ultra, offering a level of clarity and input responsiveness that is almost on par with touch screens found on smartphones.
The touch screen takes up a large portion of the front of the device, with the 220×700 resolution, 331PPI and 60Hz refresh rate delivering one of the clearest screens I’ve encountered yet.
Surface hardness is rated to 3H, allowing it to withstand drops without cracking the screen, and there’s a Nano SiO2 reinforced coating and anti-fingerprint finish which keeps the screen clear and readable at all times.
A magnetic connection allows the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge to connect to the XLIM 3 Ultra, with the cartridge being held firmly in place ensuring the resistance of the cartridge is accurate and consistent at all times.
XLIM Top Fill Cartridges have a 2ml capacity for TPD markets and a 3ml capacity outside of TPD regulated areas, with a transparent design allowing me to see the full e-liquid level at a glance.
This is handy as I can keep tabs on my e-liquid level and know when it is time to refill my cartridge without needing to remove the pod!
Quick Start Guide
How to Fill the Pod
Thanks to the design of the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges, not only can I see the full e-liquid level but I also can refill the cartridge without needing to remove it from the XLIM 3 Ultra device.
At the side of the pod is the silicon filling port cover, which can be lifted up to expose the filling port, you simply slot the bottle nozzle from your e-liquid bottle in and fill the cartridge right up to the top.
If you are filling a fresh XLIM Top Fill Cartridge up for the first time, it is recommended that you let the e-liquid sit in the cartridge for five to eight minutes before taking your first puff, as this will allow the cotton in the cartridge to fully absorb the e-liquid which will reduce the risk of burnt hits happening and prolong the lifespan of the pod as a result.
Operation
- 5 clicks of the power button within 2 seconds will turn the device on and off
- To draw on the device, take a puff on the mouthpiece or push the power button
- The power button can be locked by using the dedicated switch on the side of the XLIM 3 Ultra
- Press the power button to activate the touch screen, and swipe upwards from the base of the screen to unlock it
- The screen will turn off and automatically lock after a period of time with no input
- Swipe right on the screen to adjust the wattage and scroll up and down the settings using your finger
- Swipe left on the screen to access puff count data- daily, weekly and monthly data can be viewed
- Swiping up allows you to change the vaping animation or turn it off entirely
- To change the UI theme, long press the homescreen
- Swiping down on the screen allows you to access eco mode, device set up, language, screen brightness and screen lock time, a user guide and system settings to shut down, restart or reset the device
- Swiping right on a screen allows you to go back, or swiping up will return back to the main homescreen
The quick guide setting is a really handy feature to have, as you have an instruction manual on the device at all times, and you can even get a QR code to display on screen which if you scan this with your smartphone, it will take you to a video guide on how to use your OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra!
Charging
There’s a Type-C cable included in the kit, and the XLIM 3 Ultra supports 5V/2A fast charging so you can charge the battery up to 80% in just half an hour, which is ideal if you are in a pinch.
Charging status can be checked by pressing the power button whilst the device is on charge, this will display battery status as a percentage and even give you a time estimation as to how long is left until you hit 100%!

How Does The OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra Perform?
With the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra, you can adjust the power output setting from 5-30W and enjoy consistent performance from a full battery to an empty one thanks to the Super Pulse system.
The XLIM 3 Ultra is compatible with the 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridges, as well as the XLIM series of pods itself, which is handy if you already own a few of those pods.
The chip will auto detect the resistance of your cartridge and immediately set a suitable power output for the pod- it is absolutely spot on too, such as setting the 0.4ohm cartridge to 28W which I found to be optimal for virtually all the e-liquids I vaped with that particular cartridge.
You do have to bear in mind though that power output is limited to the maximum rating for each cartridge, so you’ll only be able to hit 30W with the 0.4ohm cartridge.
The included 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm cartridges are limited to 25W and 16W respectively, and the device will not allow you to go beyond those outputs with each cartridge.
I would imagine that OXVA have user safety in mind here and have done this to prevent the cotton in the cartridge from burning if the power output is too high.
A high sensitivity sensor means the XLIM 3 Ultra fires instantly regardless of whether you utilize the fire button or the auto draw system, with no discernible ramp up time at all.
As soon as I took a puff, I got full and immediate flavour!
Flavour
What has really impressed me with this device is the consistency of the flavour, the Super Pulse system does exactly as advertised and provides a remarkably accurate experience right from 100% battery down to 1%.
There’s no flavour drop off that I noticed during testing, I could run this at 30W all the way and get outstanding flavour from the first puff to the last, and consistent flavour at that so each puff tasted the same!
This means that the XLIM Ultra 3 has an advantage over many other similar pod systems, as the vape will tend to weaken as the battery life drops on some others.
Since I first got to try it out, the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge has become one of my absolute favourites, and I now own plenty of these to keep me vaping well into 2026!
This cartridge delivers a concentrated, warm vape that is absolutely chock-full of flavour, and performs fantastically well in the 28-30W range. This cartridge is best suited to restricted lung vaping.
If you like a strong and intense vape, it is well worth investing in the 0.4ohm Top Fill Cartridges!
You do get the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridges included in the kit, with the 0.6ohm one suited to RDL vaping and the 0.8ohm excelling at a strong MTL vape.
These pods are both excellent at flavour delivery in their own right, and I haven’t been disappointed with either of them, those who vape nicotine salt based e-liquid will find these to be a great fit.
If you need a tighter MTL vape, then there is the option of the 1.2ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge, which does an excellent job at this with the airflow closed right down.
There are plenty of options on offer with the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges to suit pretty much any style of vaping!
Pod Lifespan
I have got a lot of experience with the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge and have found that I’ll get around a week and a half to two weeks from a single cartridge before I need to change it, which is some of the best longevity on the market right now.
Not only do the pods last ages, saving you money in the process and reducing waste from spent pods, but they are leak free too, with only a minor bit of condensation build up from time to time!
Your mileage will vary with pods, as vaping habits will ultimately determine what you get out of them. The resistance of the pod, wattage setting, how frequently you vape along with the viscosity and sweetness of your e-liquid can all affect lifespan.
The puff counter on the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra really helped me to get an exact figure of how many puffs I got from the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge before I needed to change it, which is helpful if you like keeping a track on that sort of thing.
With one 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge, I got an astounding 7,274 puffs before I needed to change it out, it just kept going and going!
Airflow
With the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra, OXVA have opted for their tried and tested vertical airflow set up, with an airflow control that is extremely smooth to adjust using only my thumb.
And once I have selected my preferred airflow setting, it stays locked in place too!
You’ve got a wealth of different vaping options present here, from a cheek-suckingly tight mouth to lung hit right through to a restricted lung hit.
If you like your clouds, the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra caters to you too, as this is a device that is capable of producing some pretty impressive levels of vapour.
I found that with the 0.4ohm cartridge I could get some very dense clouds with the airflow fully open and the power output maxed out!
There’s no hit to the flavour too even with the airflow wide open, it is still concentrated and intense.
Battery Life
Just like the OXVA XLIM PRO 3, there is a 1500mAh battery packed into the device, which is more than enough to carry me through a full day’s worth of vaping using the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge at 28-30W.
With the higher resistance cartridges, such as the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm ones, at lower power outputs, I could quite easily vape into a second day!
I do vape quite heavily too so those who vape less frequently could expect to get even more out of the battery built into the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra.
It certainly packs enough battery life in to remove any anxieties around battery life for me, especially if I am taking it out of the house as my sole device for the day!

Final Verdict
In my recent review of the OXVA XLIM PRO 3 I described it as a device that is as ‘close to the perfect pod system as it gets’…well the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra raises the bar even further and I would say that this is the ultimate pod system!
To sum the device up, it is just flawless. From the gorgeous high definition touchscreen right down to the reliable and market-leading performance, the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra is a pod system that really does it all.
The XLIM 3 Ultra is OXVA’s most feature packed premium pod system yet and it really does feel like they have packed everything they possibly can into a single device.
What OXVA do incredibly well with their devices is flavour, you can pick up an OXVA kit safe in the knowledge that you are going to get a reliable, consistent and outstandingly tasty vape, with OXVA’s Unitech 2.0 technology optimising each and every puff you take.
Alongside the phenomenal flavour is a device that is an absolute dream to look at too, with incredible build quality!
Now, with all that in mind, I would have expected this to be a bit pricey- certainly in the £40 region! I was astounded however to see that most online retailers are offering pre-orders on this kit for less than £30. That is unbelievable value for arguably the hottest pod system of 2025.
As we close out 2025, I have had my hands on a lot of outstanding pod systems throughout the year, and have been delighted with the innovations that I have seen, but in my opinion the OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra is the absolute pinnacle and my favourite one of the year.
I can’t wait to see what OXVA come up with in 2026!
