In this review we have the HQD Glow Air to look at- a prefilled pod kit that provides dual flavour switching and a whole lot of puffs!
lock button hqd glow airShenzhen HanQingDa Technology Co. LTD, or HQD for short, were established in Shenzhen, China in 2014 and are committed to the research, development, production and sales of vaping products globally.

HQD put quality first and foremost in everything they do, boasting a high standard quality management system, modern production and office facilities, and advanced technology to ensure that their products are compliant with international standards.

They have recruited highly qualified, experienced research and development and management personnel, with a wide range of international certification obtained such as CE, FCC, ROHS and MSDS.

We’ve reviewed a couple of HQD devices in the past, such as the Comma Pod Mod and the Wave, but this is the first device from HQD that we have had in for review since 2022, so it will be interesting to see how they have developed in that time!

What Can We Expect From The HQD Glow Air 70K?

HQD’s Glow Air 70K is billed as a 4 in 1, dual flavour switch pod system that comes with 4 prefilled refill containers in the pack, and allows you to switch between two flavours on the go!4-in-1 hqd air pod vape

So, there’s a total of 44ml in each kit, and HQD say that you can get up to 70,000 puffs out of a single kit- that is a whole lot of vaping!

You can switch between the two included flavours easily, simply by sliding the switch on the base.

And the real time battery display shows which pod is currently in use, along with the remaining battery life, and you can easily see how much e-liquid remains in the pod thanks to the transparent design.

1.1ohm coils are built into the pod featuring a Dual Split Mesh design and Smooth Draw Technology, which makes every puff a premium experience and allows you to feel the fruit party vibe with each puff!

HQD have designed the Glow Air 70K to be your perfect every day carry, with a compact design that fits any pocket, and a grippy style that makes the device comfortable to hold.

For safety, there’s also a pocket safe child lock, which gives you peace of mind. An 850mAh battery is built in for those extended vaping sessions, and you can continue re-using the device over and over thanks to USB-C charging functionality.

Many thanks to HQD for sending the Glow Air 70K range in for review, let’s have a look at what these kits have to offer!

And as always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality

What we have here is a box styled prefilled pod mod, that has dimensions of 102mm x 25.6mm x 47mm once assembled, and it is capable of holding around 20ml of e-liquid once the refill containers are installed!

HQD have designed this with ergonomics in mind, designing a device that is comfortable hold and is also pocket friendly too.
graphics hqd glow air
I like the fact that HQD have opted for a transparent design with the refill containers, as this allows you to easily check exactly how much e-liquid remains so you’ll always know when it is time to replace a refill container.

There are seven different colours available for the kits, and the one that your kit has will depend on the flavours in your kit.

On the front of the device, the HQD Glow Air 70K logo features prominently, underneath this is a real-time battery display that lights up during use, telling you exactly how much battery is left as a percentage.

There’s also a locking switch present, which allows you to lock the device for peace of mind when not in use.

Quick Start Guide

As these are TPD compliant pre-filled pod kits, there’s some assembly required before you start vaping.

  • Detach all the protective seals on the device, pod and refill container and remove the stickers.
  • Twist off the caps on the refill containers, keep the bottles vertical (this is important so the e-liquid doesn’t leak out!), verify that you are inserting the correct flavour onto the correct side of the pod holder and slide the bottles into place.
  • Gently shake the device 3-5 times before vaping to prime the coil.

During the set up process for a couple of these kits, I did notice that some of the refill containers were quite difficult to slot onto the pod holder, and needed a bit of force to fit them in- almost like they hadn’t been machined correctly!

Once you have got the HQD Glow Air 70K set up, just take a puff to vape. You can lock and unlock the device by pressing the lock button three times, and to switch between the two pods just slide the switch on the base.switch pods

Charging

The Type-C charging port is located on the side of the device, so just plug a Type-C charging cable in and use a suitable power source to charge the HQD Glow Air 70k.usb-c charge port

Charging status is displayed on the screen, so you’ll see the battery level increase as a percentage in real time. Once it is full, remove the device from charging.

Flavours

Each HQD Glow Air 70K features two different flavours across four prefilled refill containers. hqd-glow-air-flavoursThe available flavour combinations are-

Strawberry Ice/Strawberry Cherry Cranberry, Cola Ice/Fantasi Ice, Cherry Ice/Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice, Grape GB (Gummy Bear)/Strawberry GB (Gummy Bear), Mixed Berries/Cherry Berry, Bear (Gummy Bear)/Rainbow (Skittles), Watermelon GB (Gummy Bear)/Strawberry BG (Bubblegum), Blueberry Cherry Cranberry/Blue Razz GB (Gummy Bear), Summer Dream/Blue Razz Cherry, Mr Blue & Mr Blue Razz Ice, Blueberry Raspberry/Blueberry Sour Raspberry, Kiwi Passionfruit Guava/Strawberry Kiwi, Fresh Mint/Lemon Lime, Juicy Peach/Peach Mango and Pineapple Peach Mango/Pineapple Ice.

Phew, that is a lot of flavours to choose from!

HQD sent me eight different Glow Air 70K kits to try out, and here are my thoughts on them-

Bear/Rainbow

Bear conjures images of a dangerous, wild animal (or a cuddly one depending on which way you look at it!) but the e-liquid blend here couldn’t be further from it!

In reality, this is a decent enough representation of a gummy bear flavour…a white gummy bear at that! HQD have got the texture spot on, right down to the thick, syrupy sweetness.

Rainbow is a straightforward skittles-style of blend, and it’s like having a mouthful of all the different skittles flavours in your mouth all at once!

I get everything here from a candied strawberry and blackcurrant flavour, right through to lemon, orange and a tangy lime too. This one is seriously sweet so definitely one for those that have a sweet tooth!

Cola Ice/Fantasi Ice

cola ice fantasia iceThis combination was one of my favourites out of the eight kits I got to try out!

Cola Ice features a well blended, traditional cola sweet styled flavour that has a sweeping chill running right through it. There’s a lot of sweetness in the blend, but it goes well with the cola flavouring and the icy finish.

Fantasi Ice delivers a cold, orange soda flavour and as expected, it’s a sweet one too! There’s almost a hint of fizz in the blend, and the orange soda flavouring is well done and authentic tasting.

Fresh Mint/Lemon Lime

fresh-mint lemon-limeFresh Mint is exactly that- this tastes just like fresh mint leaf which might be a boring flavour profile for some, but I enjoy it myself!

Lemon Lime is a pretty straightforward lemon and lime blend, accented with a lot of sweetener. Both the lemon and lime flavours tasted like candied versions, it reminded me of lemon and lime flavour skittles!

Pineapple Peach Mango/Pineapple Ice

pineapple peach and mango pineapple iceAlong with the Cola Ice/Fantasi Ice, this was another favourite for me.

Pineapple Peach Mango appealed to me immediately as it is a blend of three of my favourite exotic fruit flavours.

The pineapple flavour seemed to be the strongest out of the three, with the peach being more of a background note and the mango becoming more prominent on the finish.

Pineapple Ice is very well done, this features a pineapple candy flavour, like the pineapple cube sweets I enjoyed as a child. It has a good sweet and sour blend, with a pleasingly chilly finish to it.

Mr Blue/Mr Blue Razz Ice

mr-blue-mr-blue-razz-iceWith Mr Blue, I wasn’t really getting a lot other than a candied and very sweet blueberry flavour, there wasn’t much else to it if I’m honest!

Mr Blue Razz Ice takes the candied blueberry and blends in some sour raspberry, before finishing off with a nice chill. It had a real slushy type of flavour to me!

Summer Dream/Blue Razz Cherry

Summer Dream had a flavour profile that had me guessing, and with no manufacturer flavour profile to go off of I was going in blind here!

What I got was primarily a blueberry flavour, with a mix of other berry flavourings such as raspberry in the background. Again, it’s a very sweet blend, appealing to those that love a sweet vape.

Blueberry Cherry Cranberry/Blue Razz GB

blueberry cherry cranberry-blue razz gbBlueberry Cherry Cranberry was an interesting combination on the face of it, but it was a little flat when I vaped it.

The blueberry and cherry flavours seemed to overpower the cranberry, losing some of the tartness and tang from the cranberry that would have blended in well with the blueberry and cherry.

Blue Razz GB is a fresh twist on blue raspberry blends, there’s a sweet and tangy blue raspberry flavour blended in with a gummy bear note- one that certainly kept my tastebuds on their toes!

Cherry Ice/Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice

cherry-ice-strawberry-raspberry-cherry-iceCherry Ice is a pretty straightforward one, it wasn’t terribly inspiring but I got a decent enough red cherry flavour with a bit of menthol at the end- I definitely would have preferred a stronger menthol hit here.

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice fared much better, the three flavours intertwine very well with each other and I could pick out each of them individually, before a subtle chilly finish sweeps in to tie up the blend.

How Does The HQD Glow Air 70K Perform?

Each HQD Glow Air 70K pod has a dual mesh coil set up built in, with a resistance of 1.1ohm.

Airflow and output power is fixed, designed to deliver a smooth mouth to lung draw that is suited to beginner vapers.screen on front hqd glow air

Personally, for myself, the vape is a little bit on the weak side, but I am an experienced vaper that prefers a stronger and more powerful vape.

For beginner vapers, the mouth to lung vape delivered by this device will suit them just fine.

Vapour production is quite discreet, even with a long puff on the device, so this definitely isn’t one for the cloud chasers!

Battery Life

An 850mAh battery is built into the device, which is perfectly fine for a full day’s use, in fact most people will likely get more than a full day’s use from a fully charged battery.

Recharging the battery is quite speedy too, so you don’t have to wait around long for the battery to fully charge up.

How Many Puffs Do You Get From A HQD Glow Air 70K?

As the name might suggest, these kits are rated to deliver up to a massive 70,000 puffs. That’s quite a phenomenal claim if true!

Now, I think that claim may relate to how long the battery will go on for, rather than 70,000 puffs from the four included refill containers and pods with a total of 44ml of e-liquid.

Inside each pre-filled refill container is 10ml worth of e-liquid, and I measured how many puffs I got from a single pod.

During testing, from a single pod I got 3,066 puffs with fairly frequent vaping, which if that was consistent across the four pods, I would get in the 12,000-13,000 puff range from a single kit.

Of course that is not anywhere near 70,000 puffs but that is still a lot from a single sub-£15 reusable kit!

Your mileage in terms of puffs will vary, as your own vaping habits will affect your total number of puffs.

Pros

  • Wide selection of flavours on offer
  • Can switch between two flavours easily
  • Decent battery life
  • Auto draw system
  • Good choice for beginners- set up for a MTL vape

Cons

  • Vape may be a bit weak for some
  • Some pod and refill containers were difficult to fit together
  • No ability to adjust airflow or output power
  • Quite a lot of waste produced during the set up process

Final Verdict

HQD have developed a kit here that absolutely maximises the amount of vaping you can get, whilst offering the convenience of switching between two flavours easily to switch things up.

And this range has a hell of a lot of flavours to pick from, with a lot of fruity combinations, and these are set up to appeal to new vapers.

Whilst using this kit, I can’t help but feel that it would have benefited from some sort of boost function, to provide a bit more of a powerful vape, perhaps that is something to consider for a future Glow Air model.

For a kit that is available for under £15 in the UK, you do get plenty of vaping here for your money, and there is everything you need in the box to get you going- which is well worth considering!

Vaping full time since 2012, started on cigalikes for a while then curiosity got the better of me and I moved onto an vape pens, a month or two later I was seeing people walking around with these interesting shiny tubes and I thought 'I gotta get one of those'. Before I knew it a trip down to my local B&M got me my first VW mod, an Innokin SVD, paired with an iClear 30, and I was hooked. Soon after that I was jumping to VW mods both box and tube shaped, before I then made the jump to rebuilding and thus sub ohming, with my first RDA and mech mod. These days I've come back to convenience and mainly use pods, disposables and the VOOPOO Drag H40. Most importantly I am still loving vaping!
