The Kanger Dripbox kit is a ‘squonking’ style kit.

For those that are not familiar with squonking this means that you have a mod that has a refillable juice bottle, you fill this with e juice and squeeze it to feed juice up to a re-buildable dripping atomizer with a bottom feed pin.Kanger Dripbox Review

The e juice then goes up into the atomizer and saturates the wicks, essentially allowing you to drip without needing to remove the top cap of your RDA.

Kanger’s Dripbox Kit features the Subdrip RDA, which is the first RDA to feature replaceable stock coils, these can also be rebuilt as well and as standard have a 0.2ohm coil build pre-installed.

The Dripmod features an easily refillable juice bottle with a 7ml capacity and can fire up to a maximum of 60w.

Build Quality and Design

As with any Kanger kit, the Dripbox Kit is available in different colors. The build quality of this kit is a touch lightweight but for the price still feels really well made.

The Dripbox Kit is made up of the Dripmod and Subdrip RDA, the Dripmod features a fixed power output that is capable of outputting up to 60w.Kanger Dripbox Squonker Review

It takes a single 18650 battery that needs to be inserted through the base of the mod, by removing the cap, and there is a USB port for recharging.Kangertech Dripbox Review

The power button feels nice and responsive, without it being overly clicky.

You’ll see there is a juice bottle at the side of the mod, this is easy to remove and fill, and you give this a squeeze to feed juice up to the Subdrip RDA.Kanger Dripbox Tank refill

You can use other RDAs with the Dripmod but you must ensure these have a bottom feed pin installed!

The Subdrip RDA features replaceable decks, which is a great feature. You can buy pre built decks itself so you can swap builds in and out easily.Kanger Dripbox and Subdrip

You’ll notice that there are tiny juice feed holes around the edge of the deck, you need to make sure these are free of cotton so that juice can flow through easily.

As standard, the Subdrip RDA features a 0.2ohm build that is wicked with cotton, you can rewick and rebuild this, or simply swap the whole deck out for a new one!Kanger Subdrip RDA

Subdrip RDA Airflow

The Subdrip RDA features adjustable top airflow, with two airflow slits on either side of the RDA.

There’s enough airflow here for some huge clouds, and the airflow control is easy to use and adjust as well.Kanger Dripbox Subdrip review

How Does The Kanger Dripbox Perform?

The Dripbox is capable of outputting up to 60w. Depending on the atomizer build, and combined with the 0.2ohm coil build included with the Subdrip RDA, you get some big clouds with this kit!Kanger Drip Box review

The flavor is very good too, with organic cotton used as the wicking material, and a true dripping experience.Kangertech Subdrip RDA head

Battery life unfortunately isn’t great with the Dripbox Kit, mainly down to the very low resistance coils included with the Subdrip RDA.

When using this heavily, you will get an hour or two battery life from the kit, and it’s a little on the fiddly side to change batteries.

You can recharge via USB as well but this does not support pass-through, so you cannot use the kit whilst charging.

The 7ml juice bottle is enough to last the vast majority of people an entire day or at least the majority of it.Kanger Drip Box Review

It’s easy to squeeze the bottle to get juice up to your Subdrip RDA, even right down to the last drop, and it’s easy to refill as well.Kanger Dripbox Squonker

What I Liked

It’s a very good little squonking kit, which means you can carry around enough juice to last you the day and it’s easy to feed juice up to the Subdrip RDA with a squeeze of the bottle.

The bottle itself deserves a mention, it’s easy to squeeze and the refill system is easy and mess free as well.

Removable decks with the Subdrip RDA is a great idea.

You can have many different builds ready to use or if you aren’t confident enough to build yet, you can simply buy pre made ones.

These are easy to rewick as well and with a quick dry burn and wick change every so often, these do last you a while.

I’m a fan of the Kanger styling and the Dripbox is another great looking kit from them. It’s small, light, functional and priced cheaply as well.

What I Didn’t Like

Even though the 7ml bottle should last you a full day, your battery will not with the 0.2ohm coil.

Battery lifespan is very limited and you would need to take a few spare batteries out with you or have easy access to a USB port for charging! Remember, don’t under any circumstances carry spare batteries loose in your pocket or bag.

Buy a cheap battery carry case to carry them.

Changing batteries isn’t the quickest process either, with it being a little on the fiddly side.

The kit itself is very basic, which is ideal for beginners or those looking for a fuss free vape but there is no option to vary the power output.

Knowing Kanger, I’m sure a variable wattage version is only just around the corner!

The Subdrip RDA features 0.2ohm coils, which can be rebuilt, however this may be a little bit much for a beginner.

It’s pretty powerful, and some vapers may find it a little overwhelming.

Final Kanger Dripbox Review Verdict

The Dripbox Kit is a very good, entry level squonking device that makes dripping on the move very easy.

Simply squeeze the bottle to feed juice to your coil, hit the power button and vape away. It’s straightforward, easy to use and offers good flavor and cloud performance.

I would love to see a variable wattage version of this device, and some higher resistance coils available for newbies, however knowing Kanger this is surely only around the corner.

The Dripbox Kit is a great first effort from Kanger however, and at the price you can’t beat it either!

Pros

  • 7ml bottle capacity means you can carry round enough juice to last you the day
  • Removeable decks so you can interchange builds
  • Great flavor and clouds from the Subdrip RDA
  • Easy to rebuild
  • Another great looking kit from Kanger
  • Loads of spares included in the kit
  • Squonking style kit makes dripping on the move easy

Cons

  • Fixed power output means you cannot vary the power output and change your vape
  • 0.2ohm coils may be a little too much for some
  • Battery lifespan is very short
  • Changing batteries is fiddly

Vaping full time since 2012, started on cigalikes for a while then curiosity got the better of me and I moved onto an vape pens, a month or two later I was seeing people walking around with these interesting shiny tubes and I thought 'I gotta get one of those'. Before I knew it a trip down to my local B&M got me my first VW mod, an Innokin SVD, paired with an iClear 30, and I was hooked. Soon after that I was jumping to VW mods both box and tube shaped, before I then made the jump to rebuilding and thus sub ohming, with my first RDA and mech mod. These days I've come back to convenience and mainly use pods, disposables and the VOOPOO Drag H40. Most importantly I am still loving vaping!

kanger-dripbox-reviewThis isn't of course going to be a mod for every vaper. If you want to drip on the move then the Kanger Dripbox, for the price, is a great kit to have in your arsenal.

  1. I ordered one and tried it, the liquid spits out and hits your face like a spike and the tip get boiling hot which burnt my lips, I could barely even take a puff out if this.
    Totally disappointed.

  2. This looks really nice! Never knew that this thing even existed! Nice cross between a tank and a dripper without having to actually drip to saturate the wicks, very cool!
