The Onevape Mace 55 kit is yet another pod system!
It has a large inbuilt battery and has adjustable voltage, with a simple, yet exquisite design.
But is it just another pod kit?
OneVape is based in both Los Angeles California USA and Shenzhen China, meaning, they have dual headquarters enabling them to both design and manufacture their products.
They don’t have many products and those they do are all pod systems.
We were fortunate enough to previously review their Lambo and Lambo2 pod kit.
What Can We Expect From the OneVape Mace 55 Pod Kit?
OneVape has just launched this new device, it is a powerful pod kit that reminds me somewhat of some other AIO Pod devices we have seen recently seen hitting the market such as SMOK RPM40, and the VooPoo Vinci.
The Device is made of Aluminum Alloy, it has a large 1500mAh Integrated battery that will fire up to 55 watts with the right coil and has 3 different Voltage settings.
The 3.5ml Pod is made from PCTG and has a unique top filling system.
The kit is supplied with 2 coils and a USB-C charge cable for fast charging.
The Onevape Mace 55 kit is available in 7 coloured designs: Silver, Blue, Gunmetal, Gunmetal Scarlet, Blue Peacock, Rainbow and Bright Silver.
The Mace 55 coils are suitable for use with 70/30 E-liquids.
So what are my thoughts on the Mace 55 Pod Kit?

Design and Build Quality
The Onevape Mace 55 kit comes nicely displayed in a cardboard box with a paper over sleeve and a foam tray inner.
As you can see I have been sent the Gunmetal version.
OneVape Mace 55 Kit Mod Overview
The OneVape Mace 55 kit is slightly bulky but not heavy at all.
The mod is slightly bigger than other pod devices measuring in with a body diameter of 28mm, the pod space measures at 26mm, the device has an overall length of 102mm with the pod in place.
The design is a hexagonal shape and a little unusual, however the device feels very comfortable in the hand.
I would say the design is well done with a good quality of manufacture.
From the Top
Looking into the top of the mod, you will see 2 gold plated spring loaded contact points, and 2 small magnets that hold the pod in position.
Around the top edges of the mod you will see 2 liquid viewing windows, and 2 sets of 5 airflow holes under each window.
Below one set of airflow holes you will find the USB-C charge port.
The front of the Mace has a fire/action button, along with a holographic sticker for decoration, and this sticker has “Mace” printed on it.
The bottom of the mod has the design mark, however there are no visible CE or recycle mark, and the rest of Mace the body is plain.
OneVape Mace 55 Kit 3.5ml Pod and Coils Overview
This is for me the most interesting part of this kit!
You only get one pod with the kit, which is fine as the coils are replaceable.
The pod has a diameter of just less than 26mm and is made of PCTG material.
It fits really well into the Mace body, with very minimal movement.
You are able to see your liquid very easily from the 2 windows when the pod is in place.
The pod has 2 protuberances at its base that holds matching magnets to those of the body and has a large hole for the insertion of a plug n play coil.
The top of the pod has a black plastic removable mouth piece which has a large hole for the vapour draw, removing the mouth piece you will see it has 2 plastic plugs to fill the fill holes, so no liquid escapes after filling.
Looking at the pod we can see that the top surround is made of stainless steel, it has 2 fill holes that have tiny O-rings embedded for a tight seal around the mouth piece plugs, the chimney is raised and also has a small O-ring around it.
There’s also a metal collar around the pod for decoration.
Included with the kit are 2 types of plug n play coil.
- 3Ω (Dual Mesh Coil)
- 6Ω (Single Mesh Coil) which was pre installed when I received the kit.
OneVape do offer a further 2 types of coil, that can be purchased separately.
- 2Ω (Triple Mesh Coil)
- RBA deck for use with your own coils.
I understand the mod will not read coil resistances lower than 0.2Ω.
The Pod is well constructed, the design and quality is very good, and the pod is well built with a substantial feel to it.
How Does the OneVapeMace 55 Kit Perform?
For this example I will be using the supplied DM0.3Ω.
The liquid I will be using is Ohm Baked apple and rhubarb crumble – one of my favourite flavours.

The Pod and Coil
- Choose which of the 2 supplied coils you wish to use.
- Prep your coil by dripping a few drops of liquid into the top of the coil.
- Place the coil into the pod by simply pushing into the pod from the bottom.
- To fill the pod with E-liquid remove the mouth piece and fill through one of the fill ports.
- Replace the mouth piece.
- Place the pod into the body of the Mace 55, leave the kit standing for 2 or 3 minutes before use, this is to allow the cotton within the coil to soak up more liquid.
When it comes time to change out the coil for a new one, I would suggest that you empty the pod first or risk a flood.
Mace 55 Mod
Make sure your battery is fully charged before using this device for the first time.
Pressing the fire/action button
- 5 times will turn the device on and off.
- 1 press will activate the fire function; the mod will fire with a Blue light.
- 3 times will switch between the 3 Voltage modes

Fast charge 1.5hr, support 5V,1A
Connect the cable, the current power will be shown after the LED flickers x3 and then gradually brightens and fades out. You can use the device as a pass through, in other words vaping is allowed while charging.

The device has a number of in built safety’s including:-

OneVape Mace 55 Kit Flavour and Vapour Production
3.3 – 3.0 and 2.7 Volts
The vapour production I’ve got to say was quite impressive, not hot by any means neither was it a cold vape either.
The flavour was good with each setting not stellar, overall very enjoyable.
Using the 0.3Ω coil for this test, I felt the draw was a little too much on the loose side, the airflow for the Mace 55 is not adjustable – which is a shame as I personally feel the device could have benefited from it.
On the strength of this I went on to test the 0.6Ω coil head.
It was a little more of a tighter draw, but not substantially.
I wouldn’t class the 0.6Ω coil as a mouth to lung more like a restricted direct to lung coil.
The vapour production with 0.6Ω coil was ok and the flavour was just a tiny bit better.
Battery Life
Battery life for this kit is quite acceptable from full charge using the Green setting and the 0.3Ω coil the charge lasted me approx 3.5 hours.
The Blue setting lasted me 4.5 hours
And the Red setting lasted well over five hours.
Some of this time I spent chain vaping the device, I am sure that those that are not such heavy vapers as I, will get more life from the battery than I did.
Notes
While the pod is easy to fill with a thin nosed bottle, I did find it difficult to remove the mouth piece cap.
I do recommend that the pod is removed from the device for filling.
It is so nice to have a pod device with a tank that lasts a while, rather than having to keep filling it all the time!
In my tests I did shake the device to see if the pod came loose, it does but it has to be a very violent shake!

Final Review Verdict
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time testing this kit!
It is so nice to have a pod kit with a decent battery life and a large capacity liquid pod.
I would class the OneVape Mace 55 kit as a direct to lung device as there is no way of restricting the airflow.
Would I recommend the Mace 55 Pod Kit from OneVape?
“Yes” I would recommend the kit however I would only recommend it to those with intermediate experience with vaping.
Would I buy this Mod again due loss or damage?
“Yes” I would be seeking a replacement for it!
The reason I’d replace it is 3 fold, good flavour, good battery life and the size of the pod.
