OXVA are celebrating their sixth anniversary and as part of their celebrations, they have released the OXVA XLIM PRO 3!
Over the past six years, OXVA have cemented their position as one of the most popular vaping manufacturers, with many of their devices regularly topping the best pod vape lists in a lot of vaping publications.
They have built their reputation with some excellent releases, such as the OXVA SlimStick, XLIM GO 2, NeXLIM GO, XLIM Pro 2 DNA as well as the XLIM SQ Pro 2- and of course the XLIM PRO and XLIM PRO 2.
OXVA don’t just restrict themselves to vaping hardware though, as their excellent OX Passion e-liquid range shows!
What Can We Expect From The OXVA XLIM PRO 3?
OXVA are building on the excellent foundations that were laid by the XLIM PRO and XLIM PRO 2 with the XLIM PRO 3- delivering Pro Taste and Pro Vision, alongside consistent flavour and flagship performance!
The XLIM PRO 3 is powered by OXVA’s first Pulse System and the intelligent Photon Chip, which uses high frequency pulse technology to constantly pulse the coil, delivering stable and consistent flavour from the first puff to the very last.
It works in conjunction with OXVA’s Unitech 2.0 technology to get the very best out of your e-liquids, with multi-layered flavour, extended pod lifespan and a 5 layer leak-proof design that keeps the device clean and pocket-ready.
Each XLIM Top Fill Cartridge takes advantage of the 5 layer premium cotton to optimise e-liquid absorption, producing full vapour and flavour. A bottom-positioned coil structure alongside a balanced pod design makes sure that every drop of e-liquid is locked in for clean, smooth and consistent performance.

Design & Build Quality
One of the stand out features that I immediately noticed when I took the XLIM PRO 3 out of the packaging was that the screen has received a big upgrade over the XLIM PRO 2, not just in size but in visual clarity too.
This takes up a large portion of the front of the device and the peak 300 nits brightness really does mean that it is easy to see and read regardless of light conditions.
I like the fact that it doesn’t automatically illuminate when you take a puff too, as this increases battery life.
You press the power button to activate the screen, and once done this shows you the battery level, lock status, power output, puff count, puff timer and the coil resistance. So, all the information that you need to know!
You’ve also got the ability to customise the user interface too, with some preset options to choose from, giving you options to personalise the device a little further.
In terms of personalisation, there are nine different finishes available for the XLIM PRO 3. Black Leather, Brown Leather, Pro Carbon, Black Carbon, Sky Blue, Race Red, Pink Silk, Purple Silk and Titanium Silk.
In my opinion, OXVA produce some of the best looking pod systems on the market, pretty much every single one that I have had in my hands is a stunner and the Pro Carbon version I received for review is no different too!
OXVA also produce some of the most well made devices on the market, it really does feel like no expense is spared with the Zinc Alloy & PCTG construction here. The end result is a device that not only looks amazing, but feels really comfortable to hold in hand too.
Honestly, I have even had remarks from some of my friends about how good this device looks! It’s smooth and incredibly sleek, with the design of the Pro Carbon version being influenced by racing cars.
With dimensions of 119.9mm x 25.7mm x 15mm and a weight of 77.4g, it’s a slim and lightweight little kit that slips easily into my pocket.
As with other pod systems, the XLIM Top Fill cartridges connect magnetically to the XLIM PRO 3 and are held firmly in place.
These top-filled pods have a 2ml capacity for TPD markets and a 3ml capacity outside. 
OXVA have also designed them so that you can handily see the e-liquid level at a glance, without needing to remove the pod from the device, so you’ll always know when to refill your pod.
Quick Start Guide
How to Fill the Pod
No need to remove the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge from the device to fill it, you can access the filling port at the side easily.
Pop the silicone filling port cover open to expose the filling port, and fill the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge up to the brim whilst taking care not to overfill, as e-liquid will come straight back out the port if you do!
If you are filling a fresh XLIM Top Fill Cartridge for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the tank for five minutes to allow the cotton to fully absorb the e-liquid, this will reduce the risk of dry hits happening and prolong the lifespan of the pod.
Operation
Simplicity is key here, as there’s just a single power button present on the device, and all features can be adjusted through a combination of simple button presses-
- Five clicks of the power button turns the device on and off
- A single click of the power button fires the device if it is unlocked
- Two clicks accesses the menu, where the theme can be changed, LED light can be turned on or off and the puff counter can be reset. Hold the power button down to select which option you want.
- Three clicks of the power button allows you to adjust the wattage output, keep pressing the power button to cycle through wattage.
- Four clicks of the power button locks or unlocks the button for firing, auto draw functionality is present regardless of whether the power button is locked or unlocked.
Charging
5V/2A fast charging is present on the XLIM PRO 3, and it is compatible with Type-C charging cables- you even get one included within the retail kit!
Fast charging functionality works superbly well, and it does offer 80% charge in around 30 minutes. It even worked when I tried it out using one of my powerbanks.
This is fantastic for when you are in a bit of a pinch and need a quick charge!

How Does The OXVA XLIM PRO 3 Perform?
One of OXVA’s biggest new additions here is the new Pulse System, driven by the intelligent Photon Chip.
Pulse System technology ensures the flavour stays consistent, even when the battery level is low, whereas over devices may drop to 50% or less consistency as the battery level drops, resulting in a variable and weaker vape.
I know with some other devices that I have needed to pop my device on charge long before the battery has run out, as the flavour has become noticeably weaker, but not so with the XLIM PRO 3!
The pulse technology works fantastically well, so there’s no wild variations in the flavour, just a consistent vape each and every time.
It means that I know the flavour will taste exactly as I expect it to every time I vape and in practice, it has been faultless.
You have an output power range of 5-30W to play with, however you will only be able to go up to 30W with the 0.4ohm cartridge.
The maximum power output is restricted on the other cartridges, so with the 0.6ohm one you won’t be able to go over 25W, the 0.8ohm one maxes out at 16W and the 1.2ohm version is 12W.
I assume this is designed to reduce the risk of accidental firing and to prevent the cotton from burning at too high a temperature.
I’m impressed with the ramp up time here. Regardless of whether I fire the device with the power button or use the auto draw, the firing time is instantaneous, delivering full flavour to my palate.
A great feature here is the ability to detect the resistance of the pod and auto-select a suitable power output. I was impressed when I inserted the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge and it automatically set the power output to 28W- which I actually found ideal for this pod!
With the retail version, the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridges are included, however I received the 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm cartridges as part of my review package!
Flavour
Well, rather unsurprisingly the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge was my absolute favourite here and I have already got more of them ordered and on the way as I write this review!
I had primarily been using the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridges prior to this, but the 0.4ohm version has changed everything for me.
I prefer a slightly higher powered and warmer vape and this does the job perfectly. When I have got it set to 28W it consistently delivers some of the best, if not the best, flavour that I have experienced from a pod to date.
The flavour is rich, warm and absolutely jam packed with all the flavour notes from my e-liquids. And the flavour is delivered to my palate smoothly, allowing me to take long and enjoyable puffs.
However, the 0.4ohm pod is definitely best suited for RDL vaping, which I know isn’t the preferred style for everyone out there.
The 0.6ohm pod offers the option to vape both RDL and MTL, and it suits both styles equally. This still delivers an outstanding vape, best suited to having the airflow open around 3/4 of the way.
It is slightly cooler than the 0.4ohm pod, owing to the restricted maximum power output of 25W. It still delivers a very rich and full flavoured vape that is hard to beat when it comes to flavour quality.
For strictly MTL vapers, the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridges are the ones for you. The 0.8ohm version is suited to a slightly looser MTL vape, whereas the 1.2ohm version is for a tight MTL.
Again, the flavour here is excellent, being concentrated and intense, these pods shine when using high strength nicotine salt based e-liquid, delivering great flavour and a satisfying nicotine hit.
The 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm versions will be excellent options if you are moving from disposables or prefilled pod systems and still crave the draw that they deliver.
All of the pods are excellent at what they do, you just need to select the one best suited to your own vaping style!
Pod Lifespan
I have been using the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges for some time now, with many other OXVA pod systems, and these are some of the market leaders when it comes to longevity.
That means less pod swaps, which is better for your wallet and better for the environment too as less of them go to waste!
On average, I have found that I can get a week and a half to two weeks out of a single pod which is absolutely huge.
I have never had any leaks from them either, occasionally I may get a small amount of condensation build up after extended use which is pretty normal and easily wiped away.
Airflow
Airflow control has been redesigned for the XLIM PRO 3, so rather than the vertical airflow control found on previous XLIM models, there’s now a horizontal airflow adjustment system.
I didn’t find this as smooth to adjust as previous XLIM models but it still does the job, and it may just be that my muscle memory needs time to adjust to the horizontal rather than vertical system that is now in use!
You can run the gamut of pretty much any vaping style here, from a tight MTL vape right through to an airy and cloudy RDL.
With the airflow fully open, and the power output maxed out using the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge, things can get quite cloudy pretty quickly!
Best of all, when the airflow is fully open, the flavour doesn’t really seem to take any kind of hit at all either, it is remarkably consistent.
Battery Life
A 1500mAh battery is built into the XLIM PRO 3 to make this a vaping workhorse, this can quite easily sail through a full day’s worth of vaping even with the 0.4ohm Top Fill Cartridge at the upper end of the power output scale.
Honestly, I could take this device out with me as my sole daily driver and not have any worries at all about the battery life, I would take it off charge in the morning and have it out and about with me all day long without issue!

Final Verdict
OXVA have steadily become one of my favourite manufacturers as they just keep releasing absolute bangers…
In my opinion, the OXVA XLIM PRO 3 is as close to the perfect pod system as it gets!
Starting off with the looks, this just oozes absolute class, the Pro Carbon version that I received for review really is one of the best looking kits I’ve ever laid eyes on, with best in class machining to boot.
Flavour? Well OXVA are the absolute masters of delivering the very best flavour you can get from a pod, their Unitech 2.0 technology wrings every last drop of flavour from your e-liquids and the Pulse System present in the XLIM PRO 3 ensures consistency throughout.
Also, it is accessible too, you don’t need to faff around with different settings to achieve top-level performance, you can just fill a pod and get enjoying one of the best vaping experiences on the market right now with no fuss if you really want to.
Plus, the wide range of different pods that are available for it mean that a lot of different vaping styles are catered to, appealing to the majority of vapers out there.
Alongside the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA, this is one of the best devices that I have had my hands on this year and it is a refillable pod system that I can highly recommend to pretty much anyone.
It has certainly become a permanent fixture of my device rotation!
