The Tauren X-Pod By ThunderHead Creations Previewed
The ThunderHead Creations Tauren X-Pod is a new pod mod device which comes in two variants:
- Mesh version – this has a pod which uses stock coils
- RBA version – this has a pod which uses rebuildable coils.
Apart from the pod the main device is the same for both variants so I will tell you about that first!
Inside the device is a 1000mAh internal battery which can be charged at 1A charging rate.
The mod will output between 1-25W and has a variable wattage operation which is displayed on the 0.42inch OLED screen mounted on the side.
The pod is held in the battery with a magnetic connection.
Moving on to the pod. Both types of pod have a top filling cap.
The airflow on both pods is similar – it is adjustable and is located on the base of the coil / RBA deck.
The Mesh version pod has 2 replaceable coil options – 0.6ohm Mesh coil and a 1ohm mesh coil.
You simply install the coil into the airflow base which then screws into the pod.
The RBA pod version has as the name implies a rebuildable coil deck. It is for a single coil with two posts.
On the base of the deck is the adjustable airflow ring which channels the airflow up through the deck and under the coils in a honeycomb style outlet. The deck also has space for the cotton to sit.
There are 4 colours to choose from: Gun, Black, Red and White.

What a nice looking kit and seems to be full of features. One question I do have is if you can change to the other kind of pod at a later date? For instance if you bought the Mesh Version could you later on just buy the RBA pod and use it on the device you already have? I am not sure.

Thats ok Michelle,Thank you, seems like a decent pod unit, I have the Pasito with the RBA deck and its a pig to build, but its getting easier and using SS316L is a bonus when building

Hi there – sorry I am not sure, I am seeing it in stock at some China vendors – but not all – usually as a guide it is around 2 weeks to get them from a UK Vendor when they are in stock in China?
It looks like Vaping 101 will be getting them in stock as they have them listed on the site – just not in stock yet?
