The Urban Chase 50/50 e-liquid review and these juices originate from a UK based manufacturer in Accrington, Lancashire.

Over the last decade or so, Urban Chase has considered themselves the ideal e-liquid partner for vapers, catering for the vast majority with a range of edgy and complex flavours.

At the same time striking a careful balance between throat hit and cloud production.

The full range is stocked by The Electronic Cigarette Company (TECC) hence their logo appearing on the labeling but it’s by no means exclusively as I noticed other online sites selling Urban Chase vape juice too.

I guess TECC got there first?

What Can We Expect From The Urban Chase E Liquid Range?

There are a total of thirteen e-liquid profiles available ranging from menthol, beverage, fruit, dessert and tobacco sub categories.

This number only applies to the 10ml TPD compliant versions.

All flavours are produced as a 50VG/50PG ratio meaning compatibility across a vast array of vaping devices but certainly more so to the lower powered restrictive MTL set ups.

Sub ohm vapers are catered for too as the range includes nicotine strengths of 0.3mg or 0.6mg. If MTL style vaping is your bag or you’re a relatively new vaper with a starter kit then strengths of 10mg or 18mg will be ideal.

The line up of flavours is restricted to eight with the 50ml short fill versions although I would imagine all the most popular ones have made it across.

The ratio is also altered to a 70VG/30PG mix and of course, Urban Chase have you covered with their own 70VG/30PG 18mg nicotine shots.

Presentation

Orange appears to be the predominant colour with all the 10ml TPD compliant bottles and is present on every child safety lid. Boy are those lids large too! Indeed Urban Chase have plumped for those smaller, fatter bottles.

I’m not the biggest fan to be honest although nicotine strength, flavour and relevant warning info is still clear enough to read. The “squeeze-ability” of the bottles is good too. Nice to see arthritic vapers being catered for, it’s not always the case.

TECC Urban Chase bottle presentation pic

It’s also great to see the use by date clearly visible on the bottle, although the stamp on the underside of the carton is harder to view. The outer carton displays the profile names on an aptly colour coded background.

For example red to represent strawberry and blue to represent an ice cool menthol.

OK. It’s time to delve in and look at eight of the thirteen 10ml 50VG/50PG flavours sent in free of charge for the purposes of review.

Please note my views and opinions may/will differ from those of your own should you decide to participate.

There are an incomprehensible number of vaping devices on the market and each one is likely to offer subtle differences to flavour and cloud production.

What Set Up Am I Using To Test The Urban Chase E-liquid Range?

As these flavours are all 50VG/50PG I’m using my trusty Wotofo Cog MTL RTA and opting for a good old fashioned restrictive mouth to lung vape.

A 2.5mm Wotofo fused Clapton coil with a resistance value of 0.50 ohm has been installed along with Cotton Bacon V2 as the wicking material.

I found 22.5W to be an optimal setting for flavour and vapour production.

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Fizzy Cola

Urban Chase e liquid Fizzy Cola

Urban Chase Says:

The fizzy and sweet notes of cola fuse together throughout for an authentic tasting E-liquid

I Say:

There’s a very satisfying throat hit created by the nicotine content and vapour production is suitably thin and stealthy.

Urban Chase has pulled out all the stops when it comes to the level of sweetness used for Fizzy Cola.

It’s there in abundance during inhale and long after the final exhale. It’s not quite the kind that settles on the taste buds but has a tendency to linger round the palate instead…very pleasant.

The beverage content feels very concentrated and syrup like and there’s no denying the cola flavour that spills out during exhale.

By combining with a high level of sweetness it certainly bares more relation to those teeth rotting cola cube sweets heavily coated with sugar.

I didn’t really manage to pick out any fizzy qualities to the juice, only snap, crackle and pop from the RTA. It acted as a worthy enough substitute for me.

Just like those corner shop treats there’s something very moreish about Fizzy Cola and it didn’t take long to “down the bottle“…

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Fruit Blast

Urban Chase e liquid fruit blast

Urban Chase Say:

A bittersweet fusion of grape and strawberry on inhale is combined with a sharp twang of pineapple for a layered vape

I Say:

The very first thing I pick up on with Fruit Blast is the grape content. It’s also predominant during the smell test.

Urban Chase has remained true to their description because there is a clear fusion of grape and strawberry.

They’ve actually produced the blend very well because it’s not a mix I would assume to work.

It may be down to the synthetic nature of the strawberry though because it’s anything but authentic. Reminds me of those strawberry shoe laces from way back.

So the level of sweetness on inhale and exhale is insanely high and that only helps with the enjoyment while vaping this 50VG/50PG ratio.

Unfortunately I found the pineapple to be something of a distant relative and was unable to find the twang Urban Chase mention. Don’t get me wrong, it does ghost on the exhale but never really fuses with the other flavours.

Does it need to? Not really if I’m honest because this is still an e-liquid profile bursting with flavour.

Did I have a blast vaping this one? Most definitely.

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Blue Raspberry Slush

Urban Chase E liquid Blue Raspberry Slush

Urban Chase Says:

Juicy blueberry and raspberry combine with a sugary tutti frutti candy and a cooling menthol kick for a complex vape

I Say:

Well there’s certainly a candy like edge when taste testing Blue Raspberry Slush on the back of the hand.

It doesn’t translate into the actual vape though as the flavour is generally much broader as opposed to concentrated.

The output is also quite subtle but there is a very nice fusion of Blueberry and Raspberry during the exhale. The menthol properties kick in at the point of inhale but aren’t too intense. This helps with realism in terms of the drinks profile it’s intended to be.

This menthol also tickles the taste buds and refreshes the rear of throat, combining well with the minor kick created by the nicotine content.

Any sweetness does diminish somewhat against the menthol and curiously enough, after around four hours of vaping I developed a degree of vapers tongue.

By this I mean the fruit content was becoming less noticeable and the vaping experience a little bland if I’m honest.

However, when those flavours are at the surface Blue Raspberry Slush has potential to be an ideal accompaniment for the long, hot summer months.

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Rhubarb Crumble

Rhubarb Crumble

Urban Chase Says:

The buttery taste of pastry and cream custard notes create a rich flavour on inhale, given a sharp note thanks to the rhubarb undertone for an authentic vape

I Say:

When smelling the bottle there’s definitely an oat/biscuit aroma escaping and bodes well for the vape.

This is a sugary affair yet not too sweet on the taste buds. Usually I find Rhubarb vapes to be too harsh for my liking often causing coughing fits.

That’s not the case with Rhubarb Crumble because the pastry sub notes soften the edges during exhale and work a treat. A damn fine combination with delicate biscuit like sub notes ensures that Rhubarb alone isn’t the star player.

Towards the end of the exhale, a few trace hints of a creamy custard are thrown in for good measure. It’s a shame they’re not more prominent and the relative low power settings from the single coil used nullifies any welcoming warmth during inhale.

That’s down to my choice of device though and Rhubarb Crumble will no doubt improve even more on alternative devices. Very much so if included in the Urban Chase 70VG/30PG line up.

It’s very easy to kill a profile like this from the first vape but Urban Chase has done a fine job of mixing this dessert inspired profile. Very tasty indeed.

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice Strawberry Delight

Strawberry Delight

Urban Chase Says:

The light and sweet notes of strawberry are present throughout, given an added rich layer thanks to the smooth tasting vanilla ice cream for a well balanced flavour

I Say:

This one is very light and fluffy!

There’s nothing intensive about Strawberry Delight and flavour quality is on the mellow side. That’s by no means a bad thing and actually works in its favour. Think Angel Delight dessert topping and you’re getting the experience.

A healthy dollop of cream is produced throughout the exhale and helps to create texture after a very smooth inhale. I noticed much less of a throat kick from the nicotine content.

This smooth vape almost lends itself to ice cream undertones but doesn’t work for me in the way Urban Chase describe it. Had a proportion of cooling agent been applied it could have been another story.

The strawberry is far from being the natural, authentic variety and I’ve been here before but that takes nothing away from the enjoyment.

By not overloading the juice with sweetener, Urban Chase has succeeded in creating what I personally believe to be an all day vape for any season of the year.

So does Strawberry Delight delight me? Hell Yeah!

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Ultimate Menthol

Urban Chase e liquid Ultimate Menthol

Urban Chase Says:

The chilled taste of menthol is partnered with a peppery yet sweet combination of spearmint and peppermint for a layered, icy fusion

I Say:

When I read the label to this juice I wasn’t looking forwards to it because I’m not really a fan of straight menthol, as the title would appear to suggest.

One whiff from the bottle eased my mind.

Definitely mint of some description and the aroma is quite strong. On the inhale a significant cold blast lines the rear of the throat and combined with the mildly abrasive mid level nicotine content sets the tone for Ultimate Menthol.

I picked up a lacing of peppermint on the inhale as well, although by no means a key player.

A very clean tasting spearmint spills out during exhale with flavour qualities far outweighing the stealthy vapour production. These minty sub notes are consistent and never fail to deliver, lingering long after the vape itself.

There’s a minty freshness about it that leaves the taste buds revitalized.

This is a classic fusing of menthol and mint and for me, certainly has that vape-ability factor in shovel loads.

Very good stuff. Best we move on before this one starts sounding like a toothpaste ad lol!

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Raspberry Lemonade

Raspberry Lemonade

Urban Chase Says:

A soda blend with fruit notes. On the inhale, the fizzy citrus taste of lemonade plays between tart and sweet, complimented by the juicy notes of raspberry

I Say:

A bit of a strange combination going on with this one.

It’s clear enough on the smell test that lemonade is present, yet in combination with raspberry notes, something completely new is offered.

Instead of working alongside each other the fruits fuse together and I’m left with a synthetic almost floral taste.

Meanwhile there is a tarty sweetness that helps to lift the flavour but doesn’t quite do enough to brighten what is a rather still lemonade.

There’s also a tendency for the flavour to disappear during the final throes of exhale which doesn’t happen with any others in the range.

It certainly lacks any fizz and the raspberry is more candy like than juicy. Maybe the addition of coolada could have improved Raspberry Lemonade but as this stand it’s the worst of the bunch in my opinion.

It’s not quite the drinks profile I was hoping for and doesn’t have the same impact as say, a pink lemonade.

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Cool Mango and Pineapple

Urban Chase E liquid Cool Mango and Pineapple

Urban Chase Says:

A tropical fruit blend which plays between sweet and sharp notes. A ripe tasting combination of mango and pineapple makes up the body of the flavour, cooled on exhale by a wave of menthol

I Say:

A sharpness bites through this one from the inhale and on the way out. The cooling menthol is instantly recognised and joins forces with a sweetness that lingers on the tip of the tongue.

It’s the sweetness that helps to drive the flavour along, allowing it to remain consistent throughout the exhale.

The menthol combines well with the nicotine, providing a pleasant kick during inhale. Flavour properties are much more subtle than others in the range but are still delicately balanced and make for an enjoyable vape.

It seems Urban Chase has a knack of combining or fusing flavours together but in this case mango submits to the pineapple which is the main ingredient here.

It’s still a very refreshing vape and at times seems to develop a cream like texture.

Cool Mango and Pineapple is another one to try over the long hot summer months.

Urban Chase 50/50 Vape Juice – Review Summary

Urban Chase certainly hasn’t pigeon holed themselves with these flavours and there’s pretty much something for everyone.

Based on originality they would score maybe a two or three. It would’ve been great to sample something a little bit different.

They may also be relatively generic profiles too, not complex at all but the end product lives up to the description in almost every way and that’s something I find very important. This is helped by the majority of the flavours being authentic and quite natural tasting.

The Urban Chase 50/50 e-liquid range is one I would recommend to a new vaper wanting to try out dual layered profiles for the first time.

I’ve discovered in general that the flavour notes are bright, clean and vibrant. That should be enough to wean any ex smoker off the stinkers.

..and that’s the most important aspect of all.

urban-chase-50-50-eliquid-reviewThese dual layered 50/50 profiles are bound to hold the attention of the new vaper thanks to some clever flavour combinations that generally make for an all day vape. If you're keen on a no nonsense fruit, dessert or menthol profile the Urban Chase range may be worth considering.
