Vaping COULD Be Banned In America
In his strongest warning yet FDA supremo Scott Gottlieb says if the alleged teen vape epidemic doesn’t show signs of slowing he will ban vaping in America.
He made the threat during the rescheduled meeting to look at how the FDA tackles the so called epidemic in which the option of offering kids medication was discussed – read my piece The American Anti Vape Crowd Has Completely Lost the Plot… for my thoughts on that.
Gottlieb said:
I’ll tell you this. If the youth use continues to rise, and we see significant increases in use in 2019, on top of the dramatic rise in 2018, the entire category will face an existential threat.
It will be game over for these products until they can successfully traverse the regulatory process.
Tough talking indeed however as I keep saying statistics can be manipulated to fit any agenda and given the FDA’s agenda appears to be to do all it can to over-regulate or outright ban vaping in the states these are really worrying times.
Gottlieb goes on to say and despite evidence showing vaping gets folks off lit tobacco [and therefore saves millions of lives] he’s more than happy to throw those millions of ex smokers under the bus to protect the children…
He tweeted:
I still believe e-cigarettes present an opportunity for adult smokers to transition off cigarettes and onto nicotine delivery products that may not have the same level of risks. However, if the youth use continues to rise, the entire category will face an existential threat…
Like I said…and keep saying…these are extremely worrying times stateside.
War On Vaping Escalates In New York
The Governor of New York continues to lump e-cigarettes in with his current ‘war on tobacco’ with possible sweeping new legislation.
Not only is Gov Cuomo asking for legal age to buy anything vape related be raised to 21 – he is also calling for flavour bans and the banning of sales of anything vape related from pharmacies.
Here’s the full list of planned new regulations and reasons for the new laws:
- Raising minimum sales age. “Most underage youth obtain tobacco and vapor products from friends, who are over 18 and can legally purchase products. Raising the minimum age will curb youth tobacco use and remove sources of tobacco from high schools.”
- Ending the sale of tobacco and electronic cigarette products in pharmacies. “(It) will reduce the availability, visibility, and social acceptability of tobacco use, especially to youth.
Prohibit the display of tobacco products and packaging, including e-cigarettes, in all retail stores that are not adult-only. - Clarifying the Health Department’s authority to ban the sale of certain flavored e-cigarette liquids. “Flavors, such as sweet tart, toffee, and bubble gum, make e-cigarettes more attractive to youth. The budget will include a proposal to provide the Department of Health the authority to ban the sale of certain flavored liquids that target youth use of e-cigarettes.”
- Restricting available discounts provided by tobacco and electronic cigarette manufacturers and retailers and require e-cigarettes be sold only through licensed retailers.
The new laws are part of the Governor’s 2019 executive budget and yet another attack on vaping in the US.
Are Nicotine Toothpicks the Next Teen Epidemic?
Yeah you read that right lol – nicotine infused toothpicks could be the next ‘big thing’ US kids turn too now the war on vaping is taking hold.
This is a new way of delivering nicotine to me…apparently they’re perfect for use in restaurants after a meal…what a time to be alive!
OK and apparently the use of the picks by teens is worrying health officials in Tennessee and in particular Chattanooga-Hamilton County who say each ‘pick’ has around 3mg of nicotine and come in kid friendly flavours – in this case cinnamon and mint…
It will be extremely interesting to see if there’s calls to ban all toothpicks ‘to save the kiddies’ – flavoured or none flavoured…
Pakistan Next To Ban Vaping?
The country’s neigbour India is doing all it can to ban vaping and now Pakistan may follow suit.
However to say the Government is confused as to even why they should is as funny as it’s scary for the health of its people.
Pakistan Medical Association Secretary-General Dr Qaiser Sajjad told the media:
There should be a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes. More young people are using e-cigarettes now – We don’t have any data on it…We don’t even know about any diseases caused by it…
Ban vaping without any reason why…it really beggars belief…
For the record 6 million smokers die each year in Pakistan…

Vaping With Vic Burlged #VapeFam To The Rescue
Many of you know that Vic Mullin aka Vaping With Vic had his vape review studio burgled last week.
Thousands of pounds worth of cameras – recording equipment and pretty much most of his vape stock was stolen in the raid which police are currently investigating.
The stolen items apart from the PC were uninsured and for a while your EcigClick UK YouTube vape reviewer of the year for the past 3 years considered quitting – until the so called #VapeFam came to the rescue.
Following social media and video appeals by his partners in the UK Vape Show – TVP – The Devil Vaper and Empire – a Go Fund Me page was set up and Paypal donations to help replace the losses flooded in with over £4,000 raised in just over 36 hours!
On his Facebook page Vic said:
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has donated over the past 24 hours. 24 hours ago I was at an all time low, sitting in an office which had been gutted, on the verge of just calling it quits.
24 hours later, the support from the community as a whole has been massive, a special thanks to the lads from the UK Vape Show, Chris, Deano and Mark for getting the word out about the break in when I told them via messenger yesterday morning.
The response has been huge, and the money raised is now enough to basically hit the big reset button on the office and the channel come Monday the 21st.
Vic has asked that donations should now stop as he has more than enough to cover his losses.
He’s also released a full list of the stolen items – above – please keep an eye out for them and let him know if you see any of them offered for sale – particularly on social media.

A tense standoff at and American gas station ended when a man covered in petrol surrendered thanks to a vape pen delivered by a robot!
