The Vaponaire e-liquid review, and this has peeked my interest given it’s a taste of the mysterious east!

I went along to the first London Vaper Expo the other week, and it was definitely a lot quieter than the Birmingham ones. I think they were really unlucky, with coronavirus basically shutting down China, not to mention that the Circle Line and the Central Line were shut!

Vaponaire Eliquid booth at Vaper Expo

The benefit though (when I got off my TFL bus) was that it was much easier to chat with the people that were there. I spotted this e-liquid line because of their beautiful Japanese inspired artwork, and I had a really good chat with the people running it.

What Can We Expect From Vaponaire E-Liquid?

Vaponaire is described as a new vape brand from Japan, though it was started by a London based company, Sense of Wander.

From their website:

Vaponaire is co-developing the finest Japanese tastes with a Japanese food-based flavouring manufacturer and making unique and tasty flavours like never before.

As well as the attractive booth, the flavours that they had piqued my curiosity, Lemon and Ginger, Green Tea and Honey, Japanese Pear, and more. So I was delighted to have their whole range available to review.

Vaponaire Eliquid Range

These liquids were given to me by Vaponaire for review, thank you. But as always, freebies do not sway what I write, and I will report back honestly with what I think.

All of the flavours I have in for review are available in 70VG 30PG mixes, in a 50ml short fill bottle, allowing you to add a 10ml nic shot should you wish. Because I have 10ml sample bottles, I didn’t add any nicotine for this review.

The normal way we do e-liquid reviews is that we put what the manufacturer has described it as, followed by our thoughts. However in this case I haven’t actually managed to find any flavour notes from Vaponaire! So we’ll just have to go off the names.

As normal, I used my trusty Wotofo Profile RDA for this review, freshly wicked each time.

Vapeonaire E-Liquid – Rich Milk & Asuki Ice Cream – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Rich milk and Azuki ice cream

I Say:

The smell from this one is giving off strong biscuit notes, and I’m half expecting it to feel quite “dry” because of it!

Vaping it and all of that worry disappears, this is a warm comforting vape. On the inhale you get a butterscotch/vanilla combo. Exhaling and the taste is exactly like condensed milk.

You do get some hint of that dryness that I noticed on the smell, but it is more like a biscuit undertone to the whole thing. It’s a slightly more interesting vape than other ice-cream desert liquids I’ve tried and it’s not too sweet.

As a vape, this is the closest I have ever found to vaping one of my dads school day deserts, semolina and connie onnie!

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Lemon Ginger – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Lemon and ginger

I Say:

Lots of lemon in the smell, with just a subtle hint of some spiciness underneath.

I’m a big fan of ginger, so I was looking forward to trying this one. It’s a hard taste to get right without it feeling really artificial, there’s something quite special about the spiciness you get with real ginger.

When I started vaping this, I was initially a bit let down, the inhale gives you lots of lemon, but the ginger seemed to have gone MIA.

Exhaling and the ginger finally appears. You actually feel it up in your sinuses, just like when you have a really good lemon and ginger drink to fight off a cold!

That spiciness of the ginger lingers in the aftertaste, and as I kept vaping it I started to resent the lemon a little bit. It is beautifully balanced though, though I’d love to see one with the ginger on it’s own.

Green Tea & Honey – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Green tea and honey

I Say:

It looks like Vaponaire has perfected the “one, two” punch. As with the lemon and ginger, you’ve got one very dominant flavour that you can smell and comes through strongly on the inhale.

In this case, it’s the honey that is at the forefront. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a honey flavoured vape before, and in all honesty I don’t think it’s something I’ll seek out again.

In terms of flavour accuracy though, it is absolutely spot on with the honey, strong sense memories of having honey sandwiches on white bread. Very rich and sweet.

The green tea comes through on the exhale, but I’m not sure it’s dominant enough as a flavour to balance out the honey. It does add a level of interest to the vape, and it would just be far too sickly without it.

It’s a very enjoyable vape, but with the richness of the honey, it’s definitely not something I could vape a lot of in one go.

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Ice Mango – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Ice Mango

I Say:

A slightly more traditional flavour now, and as you would hope, there’s a strong smell of fresh mangoes coming from this one.

Inhale and exhale are rich and juicy. The cooling is the type that chills the roof of your mouth, and is far more pronounced on the exhale.

It’s not just mango I get from it though, the cooling has a slight wintergreen taste to it and it sets off the mango perfectly.

I always like a bit of cooling, and this ice mango is definitely a flavour I could quite happily have as an all day vape.

Passion-fruit – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Passion fruit

I Say:

I’m don’t think I’m the best person to ask about the authenticity of passion-fruit flavours, I’m not sure I’ve ever eaten a real one, and I don’t think the slice in a pornstar martini counts!

Having said that, this is very fruity right from the beginning, taking a whiff of it I think it’s easily going to be the sweetest of the range I’ve tried so far.

Vaping this, and I was left with a “that’s fine” feeling. It’s definitely got a strong taste of passion-fruit, but it’s also quite a sweet vape with none of the complexity that they have in some of their other flavours.

Nothing wrong with it at all, and it’s a decent fruit flavour. Just not terribly exciting!

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Cool Lime – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Cool lime

I Say:

Another relatively “standard” flavour here.

Smelling it, and like with most lime juices, I’m getting flashbacks to working in a bar with syrupy thick line cordial! Quite an artificial smell

Vaping it, and things don’t improve much. Whilst it doesn’t have the wintergreen taste of the Ice Mango, the cooling also doesn’t seem to be doing much at all.

Overall, it’s just a slight limp, sweet, lime cordial. Not one that I’m going to be coming back to.

Cherry Cola – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Vaponaire Cherry cola

I Say:

Now I love cherry flavoured things, but I’m not usually keen on vaping it. So this will be interesting, as the smell certainly makes me think this is going to be another overly sweet e-liquid.

On the inhale, the cherry flavour is definitely present, but it’s a lot calmer than I thought it might be. Good cherry notes throughout, without tasting like you’ve just gorged on a packet of Haribo.

Exhaling and you get the cola blending in. In fact the cola flavour that they’ve used doesn’t remind me so much of cheap fizzy drinks, but like the slightly more “sophisticated” ones like Fentimans.

There’s a bit of a depth to the flavour here, and it feels like the more you keep vaping it the more flavours start to come through. Like with a lot of Vaponaire’s other flavours, there’s a touch of spiciness here.

When I first tried it I thought I was getting some residual e-liquid from one of the ginger e-liquids, it’s got the slightest tang that the ginger gives. So I washed the atty and put in a new mesh strip just to be sure (I re-wick with every juice anyway).

There’s definitely something else going on in this e-liquid, and I’m impressed that a liquid I wasn’t expecting much of, turns out to be so interesting!

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Ginger Tea – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Ginger tea

I Say:

Opening the bottle, the smell reminds me of freshly baked gingerbread men!

Inhaling and the ginger isn’t quite as aggressive as the Lemon and Ginger earlier, it’s got a slightly sweeter, almost bakery like taste to it.

Exhaling and you can taste the tea notes blending together with the ginger. Still got a sweet almost caramel taste to it, like demerara sugar.

It’s got a very deep flavour profile, dark and smoky would be the best way I can think of to describe it.

An after dinner sort of vape this one, and I think I’ve found the perfect e-liquid to put in my pipe for when I feel like vaping like a sir!

Ice Menthol – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Ice menthol

I Say:

Not much of a smell coming from this one, I thought that might mean this was going to be a subtle vape, how wrong I was!

Vaping this and it feels like you’ve been smashed in the face by block of ice! Wow this one is cold. Not just cold though, there’s loads of menthol flavour here.

Exhaling really gives an opportunity for that menthol flavour to kick in, since it’s not quite as overwhelmed by the cold anymore. You know that open feeling you get when you’ve just had a really strong piece of menthol chewing gum? Like that. Times a hundred!

Honestly I think it’s going to take my sinuses a little while to recover from this one!

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Chestnut Cake – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

VChestnut Cake

I Say:

Now this is one that I really can’t speak much on, I have a nut allergy so I’m fairly hesitant to try anything that might have nut flavourings.

In the interests of science, reviews, and completing the list, I did try this one out.

Smelling it gives a little bit of a caramel smell, but not much else.

It’s got quite a dry, nutty taste to it. Some caramel notes, and quite a strong bakery taste. Exhaling and your left with the feeling of a slightly spongy cake, with a caramel sort of sauce.

Not for me, but then you can imagine I’ve never developed much of taste for nuts!

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Japanese Sweet Pear – 0mg 70/30 VG PG

Sweet Pear

I Say:

Another interesting Japanese flavour to round off my tasting!

The smell is definitely pear, but it’s got an undertone that I can’t quite put my finger on. Some sort of spice maybe?

The inhale is really very subtle with this one, not nearly as punchy a flavour as some of their others. But it’s on the exhale that everything comes together, there’s a crisp pear taste to it, but almost like a slightly under ripe pear.

I don’t mean that as a criticism though, it’s like biting into a pear that’s still crunchy!

There’s still that flavour that I can’t pin down though, it’s almost live a hint of clove. Whatever it is, it keeps me coming back to this one. Clean enough to be an all day vape, but also really interesting.

Very impressed.

Vaponaire E-Liquid – Final Verdict

I’ve very much enjoyed my trip through the Japanese inspired Vaponaire e-liquid range, they have managed to pull of some great mixology by creating flavours that are perfectly blended, but also a little bit different.

I started my vaping journey in 2017 with a little AIO kit. I’d made several attempts to give up smoking over the years, and I finally nailed it with vaping. I knew right away that I wanted to learn as much about all these devices as possible, and I quickly got into rebuildables and replaceable battery mods. I’ve always enjoyed kit and technology, so I’ve built up quite a collection of different tanks and mods. I love knowing how things work and what to do to get the best out of them, so sharing that knowledge and helping more people quit smoking is something I’m passionate about.

vaponaire-e-liquid-reviewJapanese inspired liquids with some interesting flavour profiles! Great mixology, and something a bit more out of the ordinary. A couple of misses, but overall a really strong and interesting showing. Definitely going to be stocking up on a couple of them!
