A box mod that is versatile and multifunctional is pretty important these days due to the amount of different ways we all vape, and the Wismec Luxotic MF Box Kit offers quite a few different functions to suit most vapers!

Build Quality & Design
Guillotine v2 RDA:
The drip tip is 810 sized and made from Ultem. You also get an different version in the spares if you wish to use that.
Top Cap & Airflow Barrel:
The top cap is made from stainless steel and has two ultem ‘blades on it.
This is for when you flip the airflow barrel upside down from bottom airflow to side airflow, then you can adjust the airflow by twisting the top cap.
The airflow barrel is made from stainless steel, it has a wood grain effect on it as well as two airflow slots.
The deck has a dual post design with clamps that are adjusted with 4 grub screws at the top.The juice well is extremely deep, so if you’re prone to over dripping or squonking, leaking shouldn’t be an issue.
At the base of the RDA you have the usual branding as well as a hollow 510 pin.
Guillotine v2 RDA – Overall:
Overall, the construction and look of this RDA is pretty good! I like how it looks and how it performs. The flavour is pretty good using the coils supplied. I would say that the flavour and airflow is a lot better when you have it side airflow mode though. It just seems a lot smoother and purer. Overall, A great functioning RDA, but not overly amazing flavour.
The Luxotic MF Box Mod:
At the top of the device we we have the 510 connector which set towards the front of the device. You can fit 25/26mm atomisers easily up here.
The positive 510 pin has a hole in the middle to allow you to use it in squonking mode
There is also some branding up the top, just to remind you of what you’re vaping on!
The Front of the Device
On the front of the Luxotic MF Box there is a 0.91″ OLED screen that shows all the information that you need.
To the right hand side of that is the + and – buttons for controlling and adjusting the different functions on the device.
All of this is surrounded by a woodgrain style pattern which looks pretty good. I’m not sure why they went for wood, but it is what it is.
The externals are pretty much standard and box mod like. You have a fire button to the left of the device which is protruding by a couple of mm. It has a nice click to it though. Other than that, there is nothing else to say about the externals.
The Battery Door
At the back of the device there is the battery door. To the bottom right there is a rectangular section that is held in with magnets and can be removed to allow the user to press the squonk bottle through the battery door.
To remove the battery door, there is a small cut out to the top left of the door so you can dig a nail in and pop the door off. The door is held in by a single magnet, as well as a small tab at the bottom of the door.
Behind the battery door you are met with a battery tray that has the polarity clearly marked, gold plated contacts and a ribbon to help remove the batteries.
As said previously, you can have the Wismec Luxotic MF in multiple different modes using a combination of connectors and battery sleeves.
Direct Output Mode:
One of the features the Luxotic MF has, is that you can exchange the regulated board for a direct output board. With the removal of multiple teeny tiny screws, the front cover pops off and the board can be exchanged.
Blanks on the Direct Output board also fill in the gaps where the screen and buttons are, just so that you’re not left with any unsightly holes in your device.
These are also available to buy separately if you require replacements.
The Luxotic MF Box – Overall:
As a dual 18650 box mod, it isn’t too bad. The battery life is a little poor and the little squonk door tab gets rattled by your finger, which is a bit annoying.
In single battery squonk mode, it doesn’t do it for me. Yes it functions well as a squonker, but the single battery-ness of it is just poor. I personally prefer dual 18650 squonkers.
And finally, in Direct Output Mode… Why, just… WHY? I can see why they’ve done it, to cater across the board. But I don’t think that people will specifically buy this because it has a replacement board to allow direct output. It’s fiddly and pointless in my opinion.
But I would give Wismec a pat on the back for trying something new.
- Looks good
- The finish is a bit iffy. The logo up the top wore out after a few days of use
- Fiddly board replacement
- Poor battery life
- Overall, an overcomplicated device.
Final Review Verdict
To round things off, I think that the Wismec Luxotic MF Box, while looking to try something different, is a bit of a pointless kit on the vaping scene.
As a dual 18650 box mod, it is poor, as a single battery squonker is performs just like any other on the market, and the Direct Output is just an absolute ball ache to change over, which has deterred me from using it more than once.
On the other hand, the Guillotine v2 isn’t that bad of an RDA. It’s not amazing though.
