Kanger have produces some of the best e cig products that cater for all levels of vaper.
This is the review for the Kanger EVOD but as mentioned a new EVOD Mega has been released which comes highly recommended with triple the battery life!
In the box / Presentation
The Kanger EVOD comes in a nice simple designed compact box.
In this kit you will find the following:
- 2 X Manual 650 mAh Batteries
- 2 x EVOD Clearomisers with 2 spare atomisers (There are several Clearomiser options available)
- 7 x 2.2 ohm Atomiser heads (2 of which are built in to the clearomisers)
- USB & Wall Charger
Battery / Responsiveness
The Kanger EVOD starter kit comes with 2 manual 650 mah batteries with an EGO thread. There are a few good colour options available, Creamy Yellow, Brushed Steel, Black and the colour received for this review, Wine Red.
If I hadn’t have seen the Wine Red in person I may not have gone for it but now I have it in my hand I have to say I really like it, it has a matt finish to it that looks quality. It also has a great feel in the hand as well.
The batteries have the on\off function we come to expect with this type of battery, press the button 5 times to activate this. I find this very useful as I tent to carry my ecigs in my pocket and they can be easily activated by accident although with the flush button on this battery this is less likely to happen.
The batteries do however also have a 15 second cut off in case this should happen for any reason though.
How Does The Kanger EVOD Perform?
The EVOD 650 mAh batteries perform well, as a moderate vaper I was getting around 5-6 hours before I needed to pop the battery on charge.
With the two batteries supplied in the kit this should be plenty of power for most vapers to see them through the day.
For any new e cig users out there the best way is to simply rotate your batteries on, they take around 4 hours to fully charge so plenty of time before the battery you are using runs out.
You will know when the battery is fully charged when the indicator light on the charging device turns from red to green.
For the more experienced vapers among us the battery will accommodate any other 510/Ego threaded clearomisers so if you already have compatible accessories such as the CE4/CE5 these can be used with the EVOD battery.
There isn’t much else to say regarding this battery, it looks the part, feels good in the hand and most importantly performs well. Top marks.
Vapour / Flavour
The EVOD e cig kit doesn’t come with any e-liquid so this will need to be purchased separately, I was using King Smokes Swedish Tobacco flavour for this review which we will come back to shortly.
The other two important pieces of kit are the EVOD clearomisers and of course the coils/atomisers. The two clearomisers in the kit come with atomisers already connected. There are also another 5 spare for when you need to change them over.
Putting the atomiser and the clearomiser together is very simple. There are 3 pieces and a few steps to follow
- Screw the coil head into the metal base
- Turn the tank so the mouthpiece is facing down
- Carefully drip the e-liquid down the inside of the tank avoiding the small central tube, be sure not to fill too
- Screw the base/coil into the tank and int turn screw this onto the battery
Reading it back it all sounds more complicated than it actually is, the image above should help make sense of it! You will have this figured out in no time and the instruction that come with the kit explain everything in an easy to understand manner.
The other good thing about changing the atomisers like this is that there is no need to empty out the e-liquid so as long as you are careful removing the tank.
I’d probably have a bit of kitchen roll handy when unscrewing the atomiser from the base otherwise you can get e-liquid on your hands.
The EVOD clearomisers with the 2.2 ohm atomiser did a great job with the Swedish Tobacco e-liquid I was using, the flavour came through very well and there was masses of vapour.
There was some slight condensation in the mouthpiece and with this being clear it is noticeable but apart from that all was very good.
When it comes to buying replacement atomiser heads (usually 1-2 weeks dependent on use) they will set you back just £3.99 for a pack of two or £8.99 for a pack of 5.
If you need to replace the actual clearomiser then you are looking at £5.95 for an EVOD clearomiser complete with an atomiser fitted. So as I am sure you can see this could be a very cost effective way to vape in the long run.
Overall – The EVOD clearomisers certainly did the e-liquid justice helping provide good flavour and great vapour volume. The atomisers are easy to change and without having to empty the e-liquid from the tank which is definitely a good thing.

Kanger Evod Review Verdict
The short of it is the the Kanger EVOD e cigarette is a great bit of kit, not only does it look good but it also performs very well. The e-liquid I was using tasted great and it gives off some good vapour volume. On top of this the atomiser heads are easily interchangeable without having to empty any e-liquid.
As for who this electronic cigarette would suit? Well it will pretty much suit any level of vaper from new users prepared to go through a short but easy learning curve right up to those using box mods looking for a backup device when out and about.
Highly recommended for new vapers.
