Dovpo and Signature Tips Mono SQ DNA75c Review – The Perfect Mod?

The Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c review, and this stunning single 18650 mod is a collaboration with Signature Tips.

China based Dovpo might be a relatively new company on the vape scene, but has certainly made a massive impact with the Topside series of squonk mods including the Topside Lite which Neil C absolutely loved.

Most recently they’ve combined with EcigClick award winning YouTube reviewer – Sam aka the Vaping Bogan with the awesome Odin mod and of course the Bloto RTA.

Meanwhile, and as the name suggests, UK based Signature Tips began life making high quality bespoke drip tips. They have now branched out to include designing and manufacturing high end squonk mods with, some might say, wallet busting price tags.

The Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c, whilst currently priced around the £125 mark is, it’s fair to say, an entry point for some vapers into the more affordable higher end of the mod market.

As to if it stands up to the price tag we shall of course find out.

What Can We Expect From the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c?

As you can see this is powered by the DNA75c chip – some would say one of the very best out there – however, this mod doesn’t have the Replay mode.

Design wise, it’s a follow on from the hugely popular Signature Tips squonk mods – which are designed to be ergonomic – as to if that’s the case we shall of course find out.

As we can see it’s powered by the DNA75c chipset which when hooked up to the Evolv software allows you to change the settings to your hearts content.

It takes a single 18650 battery with a max power of 75w [obviously!] and has a full temperature control suite.

We’ll get into the design a little later, but the mod features a 0.97″ TFT color screen, is made from high grade aluminum and there’s a choice of colours: black – red – blue and green.

OK, the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c mod was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review direct from Dovpo – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are not swayed by freebies.

OK and given Mono can be the abbreviation of an illness known as the ‘kissing disease‘ [quite apt these days lol] let’s see if this one has got me puckering up my vaping lips in delight…

Inside the Box

As boxes go this one’s a classy affair to say the least and inside you’ll find:

• 1 x Box Mono SQ
• 1 x Micro USB cable
• 1 x User Manual

Not a lot in there, but to be honest what more do you need?

Though in mine I did find what looks like a very smart beer mat – or coaster if you’re posh 🙂

Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c – Key Features

We’ve already mentioned this is powered by the DNA75c chip and with that on board you can be sure of a quality vape.

Hook this up to the Evolv / Escribe software and you can tinker away to your hearts delight to get the settings and indeed look you want – see our guide above for more info.

Incidentally on connecting to the software there was a DNA75c update I’d missed 🙂

We can also expect this one to be comfortable in the hand – those curved cut-outs are meant to be ergonomic and fit your fingers – and we’ll of course see if that’s the case.

Without repeating myself, OK I’m repeating myself – the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c maxes out at 75w and yup there’s full temp control options.

Incidentally, this is a compact device and just a tad over 25mm wide at the top – I’ve found 24mm tanks and RBAs fit nicely and 25mm’s look OK too, any bigger and you’re into overhang.

Design and Build Quality

The signature Signature Tips design follows through from those first mech squonk mods with the finger grips giving it a badass almost knuckleduster look.

I love the design, and those finger cut-outs suit both left and right-handed vapers and really are extremely comfortable.

There is a choice of colours as I’ve already mentioned. However as you can see, the mod remains black, whilst the colour includes the buttons and the front face and top.

Personally I’m glad I got the murdered out black version – is it just me or does that coloured outline dare I say, cheapen it a little?

*ducks*

Still, for those that like it, I’m sure you’ll find a Signature Tips drip tip to match and they are bloody gorgeous 😉

The screen is compact, but extremely clear and bright even straight out of the box. Obviously you can change pretty much everything once hooked up to the Evolv software, I left mine alone given I have a tendency to ‘break things’ lol.

Build wise this is a beast!

Whilst it’s not too heavy, it is a solid weight in your hand.

Both doors come off and trust me those magnets are industrial strength – indeed it takes a fair bit of pressure to get them off and it’s a little tight in there so be careful not to force the battery in!

And take them off often you will as there’s no battery ribbon, meaning you need to push the battery out from the rear. No biggie, just a niggle 😉

Good to see those chunky peek insulators too – always good to have an extra layer of safety.

OK, so the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c looks great and is built to very high standards – so how does it vape?

How Does the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c Perform?

I’ll keep this short and sweet!

Straight out of the box and the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c performs like a charm – it’s that simple.

For a vaper that just wants to get up and vape, just pop in your battery – set the wattage or temp and bingo off you go.

Easy – no fuss – no fiddling about – just use the middle select button to er select your settings and that’s really it!

One thing you might notice if this is the first time using a DNA chip is the accuracy of the temp and wattage.

In other words 75w really IS 75w – so maybe dial back a little initially to avoid a stronger vape you’ve been used to on other chips 😉

As you might expect from a single 18650 battery mod, the higher temp or wattage you vape at, the quicker your battery will drain.

Saying that, at 30w I was getting about 6 hours constant vaping whilst at 67w that reduced by half. So if you’re out and about [not that we are these lock down days] take a spare but stored safely in a box or battery condom.

So probably best to use with single coil RTAs and drippers or even a decent MTL tank or rebuildable.

During testing I’ve used the Kelpie RDA – the GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA and the dual coil Reload RTA which really did suck the battery juice dry!

Simply put, this mod is intuitive and dead simple to use but still plenty of bells and whistles to keep the advanced vapers happy.

Final Review Verdict

Without turning this into a gush-fest I think you can guess I love the Dovpo Mono SQ DNA75c mod!

As you can see from the single – mono – Con, I really can’t find fault with it.

The chipset is one of the best out there, the design is as comfortable as it is badass and the build quality is of the highest standards I’ve seen in the vape world.

An absolutely fantastic mod that has quickly become my go to – in fact I can’t put the bloody thing down!

Highly and I mean HIGHLY recommended and then some.

BTW – I shaved .2 points off the design purely because of the lack of a battery ribbon and those colours! Me nit-picking? Naw 😉
