The range of Ehpro & Eciggity Billow RTA’s has been a firm favourite of many vapers since the release of the original Billow back in 2014 and of course the V2 RTA.

And now they have taken their recent addition to the range, the Billow V3, one step further with their latest release of the Billow V3 PLUS.

What Can We Expect From The Billow V3 PLUS by Ehpro & Eciggity?

The V3 PLUS is a 25mm diameter RTA with all the same great features of the V3 but with a handful of minor adjustments, including a slightly larger capacity tank and build deck.

Larger diameter wicking holes and airflow holes on the deck have been increased too.

So, does BIGGER really mean BETTER……….!!?

Build Quality & Design

The build quality of the Ehpro Billow V3 PLUS I have to say is top notch. I received the black version for this review and was a little apprehensive that it might just be a paint finish.ehpro billow v3 plus on mod

But thankfully, on closer inspection, it appeared to be anodized and the finish was excellent. There was no evidence of any machine oil, no burrs, and no manufacturing scratches or dents.

However, it still received the obligatory wash in the ultrasonic cleaner.

How far the Billow has come since it’s first release.

ehpro billow vs billow v3 plus

At first glance, the V3 PLUS is pretty much identical to its sibling the Billow V3, just slightly larger in diameter by 2mm. The build deck has retained all the same features and design as the V3, but with the V3 PLUS there are a few little minor modifications.

Build Deck and Airflow

Firstly, the deck has been increased to 18mm in diameter, which provides ample space for a variety of coil builds. The deck remains the same as the V3 with the milled negative post and the large block type positive post. billow v3 plus rda deck

The post holes have been enlarged to 2.5mm, which again allows a wider variety of coils to be installed.

The airflow on the build deck, which is located directly beneath the coils, has also been increased, with both airholes now being a larger 4.5mm in diameter. However the side airflow, which passes through the positive post appears to be the same size as does the twin bottom cyclops airflow holes on the external AFC ring.

The latter is a little surprising as this could have potentially affected the overall airflow performance but as it stands you could quite easily use the V3 PLUS as a snorkel.

Juice Flow Control

A great feature which appeared on the V3 is the juice flow control.

Thankfully this has been retained on the Billow V3 PLUS and in this reviewers humble opinion should be incorporated on a lot more RTA’s, which would cater for a wide varity of juice VG/PG ratios.ehpro billow v3 plus rta

At the top of the tank the V3 PLUS retains the same top-fill as the V3 where the top section lifts to expose the fill port.billow v3 plus side fill

This can be a little difficult on the first initial opening as the o-ring seal provides a very snug fit, but a few drops of e-liquid will help to easy the opening & closing of the port.

One thing I did note when the top section was opened, was that the cap felt quite loose but it didn’t appear as though it would come away from the tank.

Drip Tips

The Billow V3 PLUS comes complete with two interchangeable drip tips. An 11mm wide delrin wide bore tip and a narrower stainless steel & delrin tip.

Unfortunately both of these are non-standard in size (not 510 compatible) and there is no adapter to let you use your own drip tip, so you are limited to the two in the V3 PLUS packaging, which is a bit of a shame.

Base

Finally, at the base of the Billow V3 PLUS you have your 510 connection with a brass pin which is nonadjustable but can be unscrewed to remove the positive post & Peek insulator.

Threading on the 510 was very smooth and made a good connection to all mods it was connected to.

Overall the build quality and design of the tank was extremely good. All threads and screws were very smooth and o-rings fitted snuggly.

How Did the Billow V3 PLUS Perform?

Building on the deck of the Billow V3 PLUS was incredibly easy. This was aided by the large amount of space on and around the build deck.

One gripe I had with the deck was that the posts incorporate hex/grub screws which I usually manage to strip and did do with the V3 PLUS. This wasn’t too much of an issue as there were spares included in the spares bag.

I tested a number of builds on the deck with no issue at all and finally settled on a dual Kanthal 22AWG (0.644mm) 10 Wrap 3.0mm Diameter coils with a final combined resistance of 0.3ohm. ehpro billow v3 plus build

Wicking, as usual, was a generous amount of Cotton Bacon V2. and filled with Wick Liquor Contra.

A note on the wicking of the V3 PLUS: The cotton should be gently pushed down into the wicking holes and not packed, with a small amount just protruding into the juice holes.

Vaping the Billow V3 PLUS was pretty much on par with the slightly smaller V3. Flavour was exceptionally good and once I’d got the wicking installed properly there were absolutely no dry hits even when trying a chain vaping test.

Overall, the Billow V3 PLUS performed exceptionally well. Flavour was good, cloud was very respectable, and there were absolutely no issues with leaking.

What I Liked

The Ehpro Billow V3 PLUS is incredibly easy to build on, thanks to the larger deck which also provides ample space for a wide variety of coil setups. Wicking will take a couple of attempts to perfect but is nothing onerous.

Flavour & vapour production are exceptionally good and probably on par with some RDA’s.

The Juice flow control is a really great feature on this RTA, especially with those large juice holes in the build deck.

Personally I’d like to see this included on more atomisers as standard as I tend to vape a wide varity of e-liquids which vary considerably in VG/PG ratios.

With juice flow control, this can be adjusted to suit your eliquids consistence/viscosity and regulate its follow to your wicks, reducing the possibility of flooding with high PG juices and preventing dry hits with high VG juices.

What I Didn’t Like

My one and only real issue with the Billow V3 PLUS was the hex/grub screws in the deck posts.

Maybe I’m just a little too heavy handed but they did seem to strip very easily.

Other than that I can really find any other faults with the V3 PLUS.

Started my vape journey on Cig-a-likes before moving very swiftly onto CE4's and Ego’s, which were to remain my preferred vaping hardware for a considerable length of time. When the infamous Nautilus clearomizer was released I move completely away from my beloved CE4 and also dumped my Ego for a tube type variable wattage device. Shortly after this I was on to RTA’s, RDA’s, VW mods and rebuilding. Recently I discovered the joys of Squonking and have become completely hooked.
