Good to see yet another vaping starter kit being released and the EZ.Watt by Innokin features the excellent Prism tank.

As the EZ in the title suggests this is about as simple as it gets with an extremely easy to use and understand wattage selection system.

I say system – basically you hold down the fire and wattage button – scroll through the three settings until you get the wattage you require – more on that later.

ez.watt

You’re looking at a compact lightweight device that fires between 13 and 35 watts – so whilst predominantly a MTL (Mouth To Lung) kit straight out of the box – pop on a sub ohm tank such as the Slipstream and enjoy both styles of vaping.

OK that’s the picture – now more importantly how does it vape?

Let’s take a closer look.

This was sent to me direct from Innokin for the purpose of this review and as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Inside the Box

Innokin continues their recent spate of great packaging:

Key Features and Quick Start Guide

Simplicity is key here. With the EZ in the title the clue to just how easy this starter kit is.

I say starter kit because that’s predominantly what it’s all about.

If you’ve just come off the fags then this little beauty is perfect for you as it really is as simple as holding down two buttons to set your wattage.

wattage lights

There’s a fire button and your wattage button.

Hold them both down and three LED arrows flash individually – when you hit the wattage you require stop pressing.

There’s obviously x3 modes with each arrow representing the setting starting with the bottom one and moving up:

  • 13 – 14 watts
  • 16 – 18 watts
  • 30 – 35 watts

wattage settings

In case you forget what light means what wattage – the settings are written on the base of the kit which is handy for bumbling old memory loss type blokes like me lol.

Quick Reminder on How to Fill the Prism Tank and Swap Coils

  • Hold top cap and unscrew it from the tank
  • Add e-liquid against the side of the glass – avoiding the central chimney
  • Don’t overfill – just below the top of the window is a good guide
  • Screw top cap back on – leave 10minutes and vape away

To change the coil – unscrew the base no need to unscrew coil as it’s press fit so pull out and replace.

If You Want to Sub Ohm Vape – You’ll Need Another tank

Now Innokin are slightly – only slightly – misleading in their blurb about the EZ-Watt kit.

OK out of the box you would think this was suitable for both Mouth To Lung and Direct To Lung [MTL-DTL] styles of vaping.

Looking at the wattage you can see that is the case – however as it comes there’s no coil or tank to try a spot of DTL vaping – instead Innokin suggest popping on the Slipstream tank – which will be an additional purchase.

slipstream tank
with the slipstream

Admittedly the Slipstream is a cheap cheerful and pretty solid little tank but please be aware that to sub ohm on the Innokin EZ Watt you will need a different tank 😉

OK this is a fast charger going from empty to full battery in slightly over 90 minutes and at the middle setting of 16-18 watts I was getting a day and half vaping – so great battery life.

The mod is topped with the Prism tank which I reviewed in the Endura T20 piece and is a solid no frills easy topfill 2ml tank that delivers pretty good flavour.

The kit includes x2 coils the 0.8 ohm best at 16 to 18 watts and the 1.5ohm best at 13-14watts – with replacement coils available separately in packs of 5.

Design and Build Quality

As you might expect from Innokin the build is clean and everything marries together beautifully.

The full kit is light as a feather and finished in that rubber style that I like and it fits wonderfully in the hand and slips into your pocket with no bulge.

The overall design is reminiscent of the early Endura T22 but slightly smaller and slimmer.

ezwatt in hand

The tank and mod together is indeed a match made in heaven and both buttons are responsive with no rattle whatsoever.

I like the look of both kits I received however whilst the plain colours have a matchy matchy tank the crackle red comes with a black tank but still looks pleasing to the eye.

Other colours: Red & Black – Crackle – Black – Gray – Blue – Red – Purple

OK so most important of all – how does the EZ-Watt from Innokin vape?

How Does The EZ-Watt Kit by Innokin Perform?

If you read my review on the Endura T20 you’ll see that I would have preferred just a touch more power getting to the coils and with the EZ-Watt we have that and at the 16-18 watt setting I’m getting a very good MTL vape indeed.

Flavour wise the tank is very good with my current 50-50 12mg tobacco e-juice tasting crisp with an extremely enjoyable throat hit and decent vapour.

As I mentioned in that review I found the 13-14 watt setting a little bit low with a weaker flavour and throat hit – so I’m a lot happier with this one!

prism tank

I popped on the Nautilus 2 tank which I tend to vape around 21 watts and to be honest it vaped very well.

I took Innokin’s advice and used the Slipstream tank with the 0.8 ohm coil at the highest setting on the EZ-Watt 30-35watts and yup a very good DTL vape indeed.

I’ve always liked the Slipstream – despite it being 2ml capacity – and it sits very nicely on top and as you might expect the flavour is very good with clouds that will surprise you!

Overall this kit performs very well indeed with good flavour – decent clouds and a very good battery life.

What I Like

This is so simple to use its untrue and that makes this an absolute winner for anyone who enjoys a good MTL vape and definitely one I’d highly recommend to newcomers to e-cigs especially as a first ‘vape’.

The way you choose the power is simple but do keep it between the two lowest settings with the coils in the box.

Design wise it’s a looker and as light as feather and extremely compact.

crackle ez.watt
red crackle version

It delivers good flavour and pretty decent vapour even on the lower settings so yes it ticks all the boxes for me.

What I Don’t Like

Maybe adding an extra coil that could handle a DTL vape to let newbies have a try at that vaping style would have been nice – however that’s more a suggestion than something I don’t like!

To be honest there’s not a lot to not like!

Whilst this is only on pre-order at the time of writing a quick scout of the internet and it looks as though the Innokin EZ Watt kit will be retailing at around the £34.99 which I have to say is a fantastic price!

Pros

  • Simple to use
  • Stylish
  • Compact
  • Good battery life
  • Fast charging
  • Good flavour
  • Good throat hit
  • Good clouds
  • Good choice of colours
  • Great price!

Cons

  • None I can find!

I have simpler vape tastes these days - I never leave home without a Caliburn G, a Vaporesso Luxe 40 or Innokin EQ FLTR and a CBD vape pen or bottle of CBD drops in my rucksack...or indeed an Aspire Nautilus Prime X in my pocket... At home I'll be using various mods topped with the GeekVape Zeus X RTA or the Signature Mods Mono SQ topped with the Augvape BTFC RDA... I'm a former journalist and now a writer and sometimes author... I'm ex Army - adore dogs and never happier than hiking over the hills or with a good book on a beach.

  1. Be aware ! They look lovely. Feel good in your hands but I am given up on them and looking for a reliable
aternative.i am now in my 5th purchase in 12 months. They just stop after a short period of perpetual leakage. Still cheaper than cigarettes but at £40 a time, not impressive. Also if you read innoken returns policy ( my dealer advised to go directly to innoken) you can appreciate their lack of service should you be disappointed with their product…not worth the hassle! ( as I’m sure they intend) Not a great product overall.

  2. I just purchased this. As a newbie, I love how easy it is to use. I did have a problem with the pre-installed coil leaking – it wasn’t set in properly… lesson learned to always check that. I have to say I’m not a huge fan of the T20S tank, and that’s probably only due to my beginner status. The coils are also sold out on all but one site I’ve been to. I’d like to play around with some other tanks for this that can handle high VG but don’t know where to start… will possibly try the Nautilus 2 as yours is the only review that mentions another tank being used with this device. As beginner as this device is – and I’m sure long-term vapers are laughing reading this – it still requires some research & a learning curve, especially if you can’t get your hands on the coils & need an alternative.
