The Innokin Itaste VF (VF standing for Vapor Forge) is the first rebuildable dripping atomizer (RDA) from Innokin.

Offering a functional three post design offering options for both cloud chasing and flavour vaping, the Itaste VF has been designed to offer an entry level budget introduction into dripping.

The Itaste VF also offers plenty of different airflow options that can be customised to suit any style of vaping.

Manufactured by Innokin, one of the most trusted brands within the vaping industry, you can usually be assured of a quality product whenever you make a purchase from them!Innokin VF RDA Review

Kit Contents

  • 1x Innokin Itaste VF
  • 1x Drip tip
  • 3x Screws
  • 4x O-rings

Innokin are known for having some pretty attractive packaging, and the iTaste VF comes in a clear Perspex box with the iTaste VF logo printed on the top and side, with the RDA itself housed in silver packaging and the spares found underneath this.

VF RDA Set Up

The Innokin Itaste VF was designed with the idea in mind to be able to rebuild without the use of tools, which is excellent for a beginner to rebuilding. You can unscrew the post screws by hand to insert your build of choice.

There is no pre-built coil set up here, you will have to build your own coil and wick set up and insert it into the Itaste VF before you begin.VF RDA Parts

Once that is done however, it’s a simple case of selecting your preferred airflow setting, dripping some juice in, and then happy dripping (hopefully)!

The deck itself is massive, and the Itaste VF comes with a three post base set up as standard, here you have got plenty of space for your builds and the posts themselves are quite small as a result.

With the Innokin Itaste VF you can even interchange the post bases so you can have a different set of builds set up and ready to go to switch on the move!RDA Base for the Innokin VF

The separate bases are available in configurations of 2, 3 and 4 posts which are available to buy separately.

My personal preference is a single coil setup with 0.4mm kanthal, 8 wraps around a 2.5mm screwdriver coming out at 0.8ohm which gives excellent results for flavour with the short chimney. It just about slots in the small post holes!

  • Adjustable Tri Intake Airflow System
  • Constructed from Stainless Steel
  • 510 Threaded

Replaceable bases available separately with 2, 3 and 4 post configurations.

I have seen the Innokin Itaste VF described online as a bit of a good looking RDA, but I definitely have to disagree there, it isn’t the best looking RDA around! The chamber is quite short (which actually enhances flavour), with quite a long drip tip with a wide bore mouth opening, ridges at the top of the RDA and three airflow slits around the AFC ring.

How Does The Innokin VF RDA Perform?

Boasting a tri-intake airflow system comprised of airflow slits on an AFC ring, with numerous different airflow options available as a result, Innokin are attempting to appeal not only to beginners to the RDA scene but also to those who love to cloud chase.

With the airflow wide open you get some massive cloud production which requires some deep lung hits, with the airflow restricted you can get great flavour production using mouth to lung vaping. Selecting the airflow is down to preference however, and with a bit of a play around you will find an airflow setting that suits your style of preference.Innokin VF RDA on MVP3

With the space you get on the build deck, you can accommodate a wide range of builds, microcoils work absolutely great and even those who like their coils thick will find plenty of room to build them here.

Higher resistance flavour builds work absolutely fine and I have even slotted in low ohm twisted builds down to 0.4ohm, although I did struggle a bit to fit the coil strands through the small post holes. With a bit of negotiating they slotted in eventually!

The iTaste VF stayed cool no matter what build I used in it.

As mentioned, I have had great flavour results from this RDA, and it also blows better than average clouds with the airflow on its most wide open setting. For a genuine RDA this is excellent, you definitely get your moneys worth with a really versatile RDA here!

Innokin iTaste VF Verdict

The Innokin Itaste VF was one of the first RDA’s I ever owned and it’s an RDA I have used for a long time to check the flavour of my DIY juice mixes as it is so simple to set up and rewick. I still use it very regularly to this day to test my flavours of my mixes.

Flavour wise, it provides excellent flavour results with the airflow half closed off. It also blows some pretty decent clouds with the airflow wide open but I would recommend it to someone looking for a flavour RDA. The short chamber really helps to enhance the flavour you get from your juices.

It’s a great choice of RDA for anyone looking for a simple dripper or someone looking for their first rebuildable ,as it is very easy to set up and get going, and offers a really good introduction to the world of rebuildables with its ease of use. It’s definitely worth a look if you are looking for a cheap genuine RDA with a range of different vaping options available.

The Good

  • The price- great budget genuine RDA!
  • Can easily be built to chase clouds or flavour
  • Outstanding flavour with the right build
  • Easy three post design for beginners
  • Plenty of airflow options, with a very smooth AFC ring to boot

The Not So Good

  • Thin and small posts, you need to use quite thin wire due to the small post holes
  • Not the best looking RDA!
  • Very stiff screws upon first use, does ease off with repeated use
  • Leaks quite badly if juice is left in the juice well
  • Supplied drip tip too long for my liking!

Vaping full time since 2012, started on cigalikes for a while then curiosity got the better of me and I moved onto an vape pens, a month or two later I was seeing people walking around with these interesting shiny tubes and I thought 'I gotta get one of those'. Before I knew it a trip down to my local B&M got me my first VW mod, an Innokin SVD, paired with an iClear 30, and I was hooked. Soon after that I was jumping to VW mods both box and tube shaped, before I then made the jump to rebuilding and thus sub ohming, with my first RDA and mech mod. These days I've come back to convenience and mainly use pods, disposables and the VOOPOO Drag H40. Most importantly I am still loving vaping!
