Well…Jaybo is a moustached and bearded vaping genius, whose creative talents go far beyond his ability to put together a really stylish outfit, Jaybo knows vaping and I’m always excited when I catch his name mentioned in a product preview and it’s no different for the Wismec Luxotic squonk kit.
Jaybo’s Designs add a special flair to everything he touches and, in combination with Wismec, one of our beloved Shenzhen superstar brands, what you have is a killer mix of manufacturing and design expertise.
Now, Wismec is known for the likes of their Reuleaux RX Gen3 mod and their stunning Reuleaux RX Machina mechanical mod offerings but their site is full of winners, like the Sinuous Ravage230, which I had the pleasure of reviewing recently, along with the Gnome Evo tank.
This review celebrates Wismec’s first foray into the squonking or BF business, a business I’ve personally been paying a lot of attention to lately and let me tell you, there’s cause for celebration.
Wismec and Jaybo have come together to bring us one of the most solid, high quality, compact and delightful little BF boxes I’ve had the pleasure of vaping on. Indeed, I’ve made a new green friend in Wismec Luxotic BF Box with the precious Tobhino BF RDA.

Build Quality & Design
Luxotic BF Mod
Well, well…Looking through the shiny plastic display box package, I’m already excited. The Luxotic is compact, beautifully put together, designed with innovation and the luminous green honeycomb resin panel is parked right there up my street in the midmorning, summer shade.
Now, little BF mods like this can sometimes feel flimsy, especially resin ones…I sometimes find the resin panels a little too thin to feel really solid in hand but this one is different.
The honeycomb is well cast, with firm magnets and skilful shaping round the edges of the panel and the squeezing hole.
The components below the panel include a non-see through, rather firm 7,5 ml squonk bottle, a snug and neat single battery chamber with a nice ribbon for ease of use and the contact and semi-reg setups neatly hidden in a nice little branded metal box above the bottle and under the atty seating/pin.
The innovative thing about this BF is the honeycomb grid, metal, magnetised panel on the bottom….it pops off so that you needn’t spill juice all over the place trying to remove and replace your bottle out of the side panel.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy this, I usually make a terrible mess refilling my soft squonk bottles sideways out of my mods, I’m sure any squonker out there will know the drill. This design offers the perfect solution, plus the base panel looks really cool too: wow, a mod with a good looking base, what next?
The box is rectangular and narrower than most, which makes it super comfy to hold, it has shaved vertical corners and a really cool looking, massive Wismec brand, cast smack bang down the middle of the alloy side opposite the removable resin panel.
There’s a round Jaybo brand next to the atty connection and a good quality, spring loaded squonk connection.
The narrow vertical side, below the atty has a round and PERFECT, clicky-AF fire button at the top and below it, running down the side at intervals are three ample and rather aesthetically pleasing grip indentations.
There is no lock for the fire button so watch out when you’re pocketing this guy because it fires like a killer!
A led shines through around the fire button when pressed, the source of which is hidden somewhere inside that little metal box I mentioned. So there are some electronic jiggly-doos going on in there for sure.
I don’t intend to expose the workings but, after assuming the Box mechanical at first, I did discover that this little guy is semi-regulated, like the Noisy Cricket V2…so no mechanical worries for beginners, even though all the space you’d see saved on a mech has been well-saved here by Wismec and Jaybo, good job.
The Luxotic BF Box may be really affordable but it looks and feels top dollar, loving it.
Wismec Tobhino BF RDA
The little 22 mm Wismec Tobhino BF RDA is freaking adorable…itty as can be (the smallest RDA on my shelves), from base to barrel top, it’s only 14 mm high so it’s PRECIOUS.
Stainless steel barrel, with 3 adjustable airflow holes either side…great perfect machining and o-rings makes the barrel just easy enough to remove or twist to adjust the flow.
It’s fitted with a delrin 510 top cap and removable drip tip and an 810 top cap is included in the pack but you’ll have to use your own 810 drip tip.
A 510 tip suits an RDA of this size since your mouth is very, very close to the coil indeed on little Toby.
The deck has raised sides so the deck is basically a rectangular hole in the centre, meaning there’s a good, deep juice well, considering the RDA’s size…with the BF feeding right underneath where your single coil will sit.
Airflow slots run through those deck-wall posts, with your well threaded screw punched in below the airflow on one side. Airflow is well placed to prevent leaking and align with the coil.
The coil placement, especially if you fit narrow wrapped coil like the ones included, is slightly offset from the centre, which serves the squonk purpose well because you can lay a good long wick into that juice and keep those coils wet at all times.
A minor oddity is the fact that you will need to bend your parallel coil leads when building, because the terminals are off to the side but I will cover that in detail in the Coils section.
The Included Clapton Coils
Since the coil leads need to be bent at 90 degrees here, the 2 included 0.18 ohm Claptons had been pre-bent.
The problem was, the first coil I fitted had lost integrity in the leads during bending, so the thin gauge Clap-wrap had actually been damaged at the bend: the result was that right on the first pulse both leads simply gave up and the coil collapsed to the deck. I couldn’t fix that coil since the knee-break had messed up heat distribution.
All said and done, the second included coil I took pliers to before fitting, straightening and compressing the leads where I could see a weak point and then bending very gently again.
The result was great and, other than that little issue…these coils are exceptionally good to vape on…massive clouds, massive flavour, delicious and actually a truly good coil.
Wismec needs to make a plan with those leads because it’s a real shame to lose such a good coil and I’m certain some users might see both their coils suffer the same ill fate.
Very good quality vape cotton was included, nice and soft and flavour maximising. I also like the inclusion of an 810 top cap though I do feel the RDA a little short for a wide bore.
An extra bottle is included and all the necessaries. The squonk bottles are pretty firm and you need to apply pressure for a few moments to get a fill but I actually prefer this to a too-soft bottle.
How Do The Wismec Luxotic BF Box and Tobhino BF RDA Perform?
I am nuts about the Wismec Luxotic BF Box, from top to bottom, it’s my freakin’ BFF BF Box! I feel a good amount of power coming through here with the Max 100W output and the ramp is superb for a BF Box.
I really enjoy the click of this fire button, the hand feel, the look.
I appreciate a firmer bottle also, makes for less mess, although you need to focus a bit on that squeeze. I actually find this whole squonker super clean, no juice all over the show as is often the case with a sqonker so compact, especially a silicon bottle job.
There’s not much to it, except to say that it ROCKS.
Last but not least, the base design that allows you to unload your bottle from the bottom really is a big convenience for me. If you are on the market for an AWESOME, super quality, convenient and funky BF Box, this is your one!!!
Tobhino, Tobhino, you are so cute and lean-o!
So lean, so awesome and lean!
I just cannot put you away!
This teensie little RDA is a pleasure to squonk on, the flavour is absolutely off the hook here, at times I even felt like I was getting TOOOO much flavour if you can believe it and had to drink even more cold cider just to wash down all that Tiramisu juice.
Yumbles. The delrin top cap definitely enhances the flavour, that’s why I love delrin heavy RDAs so much. Toby is awesome.
A word of advice though, 60c heat on a little RDA like this, when your mouth is that close to the coil, can actually feel quite hot!
Also, directly post-squeeze, you’re bound to get a little bit of spit back, even through the 510, just because of the size factor, unavoidable but I defs wouldn’t recommend a wide bore on such a short monster…you will burn yourself silly with splutters.
That said, no discomfort for me really in spite of a little spit back, it’s a sacrifice for the compactness of it.
Oh…the airflow is lovely, slightly restricted all round.
All round master of the squonk crew over here. Such a great first offering from the brand!
How To Fill
- Remove the base plate and bottle
- Fill the bottle
- Squeeze with fair pressure for 2-3 seconds to bottom feed
Ease of build
Provided you have a good pair of pliers and are careful to not damage the lead integrity when bending your coil, this deck is a delight and really easy to build on.
How To Replace The battery
- Remove the resin panel and place battery according to markers
- Replace panel
A day and a bit on a single 2500 18650 so I’m not complaining!
- Nice, high wattage with some extra safety features (semi-regulated)
- Compact and classy looking, with an awesome shape and finishes
- Tiny, flavourful and well made RDA with an easy deck with good wick space

Final Review Verdict
Dudes and Dudettes who’re not intent on splurging too much cash and want a top class, convenient little squonker that looks a picture and vapes up an awesome flavourful cloud, here you go, you will love it. Beginners or not, this kit, as far as I’m concerned, is perfect.
Would I buy the Wismec Luxotic kit again if I lost/broke the device? Undoubtedly.
