It’s time to take a look at one of the latest disposable vape releases, the Geek Bar Meloso Mini and I’m very keen to give these a toot or four!

Geek Bar Meloso Mini disposable vapesGeek Bar are a disposable vape brand created by none other than Geekvape. I guess the name kind of gives things away doesn’t it. So with over nine years of experience one thing we can be assured of is quality control.

Geek Bar company logoIn fact their culture is grounded in QC and we’ve certainly seen some excellent vape products released inside the last decade.

Potti Lan, Chief Marketing Officer for Geek Bar summarises.

‘As a company we have a duty and opportunity to shape a better future for our consumers, employees and stakeholders’.

It sounds to me like Geek bar have got every area covered, which is quite reassuring.

With an intelligent manufacturing facility dedicated to R&D and production along with clean, dust free working environments, they strive to offer great taste, convenience and ease of use.

Definitely three attributes I look for in a disposable vape. Let’s find out if the Geek Bar Meloso Mini can tick those three boxes, shall we?

What Can We Expect From the Geek Bar Meloso Mini Disposable Vapes?

Appearance

As you can also guess from the name, these disposables are small – and I mean small. That’s not to say the first of a kind as I’ve seen this form factor replicated quite heavily over the last year or so.

Size of the Geek Bar Meloso Mini disposable vapeThis means it’s totally portable and pocket friendly. Weighing next to nothing the Meloso Mini is ideal for a cheeky stealth vape or four.

All edges have been nicely contoured for further comfort while clasping. The bottom has been fitted with a Chrome cap to provide a level of elegance unseen with other disposables.

Both LED and airflow intake are placed on the bottom of the disposable

The mouthpiece is comfortable too but I do have concerns over the wide opening. Will this be too much for a decent MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape?

So we’re dealing with a disposable that’s TPD compliant – happy days for us in the UK and EU!

It holds a regulatory 2ml volume of E-liquid and only appears to be released in 20mg salt nicotine strength.

The internal battery is rated to 550mAh which should keep us vaping for anything up to 600 puffs.

Geek Bar Meloso Mini disposable vape bannerThe Geek Bar Meloso Mini relies entirely on auto draw to function with a White LED illuminating on the base with every vape. Oh, and the LED also flashes repeatedly when the battery has failed.

Vape straight out of the box. Dispose of when finished with. These disposables are single use only.

What may very well set this disposable apart from the masses is its use of dual mesh as a heating medium.

Meloso Mini dual mesh coil

Since we are assured only natural fruit extracts have been used, it will be interesting to see how the taste is affected over the extended heating area this mesh coil provides.

It would’ve been nice to have known the actual coil resistance but I wasn’t able to uncover that info. It’s probably in the region of 1.0 – 1.2ohm though, I imagine.

So the Meloso Mini disposable is currently available in a total of 10 flavours ranging from mint, fruit, tobacco and sweet style profiles.

Expect an icy cold blast to accompany most of these.

Note: The Geek Bar Meloso Mini comes in a tamper proof outer carton. Rip the side of the carton to open. They’re also contained in a sealed bag with a side effect warning booklet.

Remember to remove the Silicone mouthpiece stopper and airflow protection sticker on the base of the disposables before vaping.

Big thanks to Vape Club for sending these over for the purposes of review. As always it’s very much appreciated.

OK – time to check six of these out for flavour quality, vapour production, battery life and overall number of puffs.

Blueberry Ice

Blueberry IceGeek Bar Says:

A tartly sweet treat filled with the taste of undeniably nostalgic Blueberry with a touch of ice that can be found on the exhale. An amazingly moreish flavour that’s sure to deliver some palette-pleasing perfection.

I Say:

Wow! If Blueberry Ice is anything to go by I can tell straight off the bat that these are going to be flavour intensive.

However, this one is not for my particular taste buds. Why? Because I’m reminded more of Grape than I am Blueberry. Whether that has anything to do with flavour amplification I couldn’t say.

At the beginning of the exhale there is an associated tart like quality drifting through but is swiftly replaced by a slightly sulphuric taste that’s hard to shake.

Luckily it doesn’t remain as an aftertaste so that does take some of the sting out of things for me.

It’s extremely sweet – something to be expected and the cooling agent is actually very much on par. Just to the right level.

I’m just not a fan of the flavour output. If you like Grape vapes with maybe just a hint of Blueberry, check this one out. It could be up your vape street.

Cherry Ice

Cherry IceGeek Bar Says:

Absolute Cherry on top of any hot day! This is a sweet and smooth flavour of blended Cherries and ice for a perfect fruity vape.

I Say:

This is an odd tasting vape. Almost a vape of two halves, if I’m honest.

Usually I get the sweetness drawn up during inhale but that’s not really the case with Cherry Ice. Sure, the Koolada responds, if a little sleepy but when it hits on the exhale it hits effectively.

No – the point I’m trying to make is that the first half of the vape is something of a dry experience. It feels like all that sweetness is being crammed into the final gasps of exhale only to be left sitting on the tongue as an afterthought.

So it’s somewhat detached from the overall flavour experience.

However the Cherry itself is quite noticeable, albeit rather generic in flavour but that’s pretty much to be expected from a disposable.

And it does run consistently throughout so in general you’re getting what you paid for.

I’m just not enamoured by the tidal wave of sweetness at the end of each vape.

Mints

MintsGeek Bar Says:

It’s a cool, clean, and crisp, Mint flavour that’s perfect for anyone who likes to keep things fresh, all day long! It’s a light, all-day vape and perfect for those hot summer days when you need to feel cool and calm.

I Say:

Yup! The harshness of the Mint is on show from the very first inhale. This is a flavour to knock your socks off and really does showcase the dual mesh coil abilities.

It combines with a cooling agent to amplify the effect of the flavour – in a very impactful way, I might add.

It’s a very crisp, clean tasting mint and very, very refreshing to boot!

I think the title ‘Mints’ is plural for a reason because I feel I’m getting a mix between Peppermint and Spearmint. And the blending is spot on, if you ask me.

What’s also impressive is the use of sweetener. It mixes and matches effectively with the mints enough to place it in the sweets based category.

Yeah – a very powerful inhale and exhale. If you’re missing Menthol cigarettes, Mints is a vape I highly suggest you try.

.. Just be aware that it will result in brain freeze if chain vaped. And I chain vape!

Peach Ice

Peach IceGeek Bar Says:

The greatest mixture of sweetly pleasant Peach with a frosty icy finish! It’s the perfect fruity mash-up of two of the most classic flavours out there.

I Say:

This one works a treat!

And that’s because all the floral sweetness is on show – by the vape load.

It’s one of those vapes where an acidic, sulphuric edge is actually appreciated. That’s what I find from the real deal and that’s what we find here. Good stuff!

So I’m finding the flavour to be quite natural tasting and would line up with the use of natural fruit extracts.

There’s even some of that roughness commonly associated with this soft fruit.

I almost feel like I’m biting into a ripe, juicy Peach. The flavour is highly consistent throughout exhale and the application of Koolada is spot on.

This time the sweeter elements play directly into the hands of the subject matter. Always present but never over loaded, stimulating the taste buds in a very pleasant way.

Peach Ice is a very moreish vape and one that’s hard to put down once started.

Sour Apple

Sour AppleGeek Bar Says:

This is a refreshingly sour full-bodied taste of tangy Apple. One vape is enough to keep those cravings away!

I Say:

Very nice indeed.

To be brutally honest, it isn’t quite as sour as I was expecting and that’s a good thing. Too much effort spent on the sourness of Apple vapes usually results in disaster.

I tend to end up pulling faces that could win a national Gurning championship!

Instead the Apple content is allowed to fully develop beneath a careful lacing of sweetener and acidity.

The nearest version of Apple I can think of is a Granny Smith’s for the level of associated crispness that envelops the blend. It’s very nice and cleanly defined, just as I like it.

It’s not mentioned in the name but you can also expect a healthy swathe of Koolada to top thing off. It perfectly complements this perennial fruit and I’m thinking it’s perfect for any season of the year.

Plenty of flavour, plenty of intensity. Sour Apple consistently delivers the goods.

.. And that’s good!

Tobacco

TobaccoGeek Bar Says:

This is a sweet Tobacco flavour that features a light Tobacco flavour with a sweet undertone throughout. It’s a lightly sweetened treat that’s perfect for all-day vaping.

I Say:

A decent all round Tobacco vape.

Rule number one. Never bring Koolada along to a Tobacco vape. Geek Bar haven’t and that makes all the difference.

It’s bad enough that disposables lack the power to generate enough heat to replicate the experience of a cigarette. So in this case, Geek Bar have done the best they can with the tools they have.

And I’d say they’ve managed to pull it off. What we get is a mix between hand rolled Tobacco and your average tasting Cigar. No, it doesn’t remind me of say a Super King or Dunhill or whatever (can you tell I’m out of touch with ciggie brands?).

But a lack of cooling agent does allow this particular blend to evolve nicely throughout the exhale. It’s quite mellow to begin with then a layering of sweetness kicks in towards the end. Quite a pleasant experience and one worth coming back to methinks.

With a few nutty, earthy notes thrown into the mix I think Tobacco manages to be an enjoyable vape.

And I don’t say that about many Tobacco vapes.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

Battery life was about as good as could be expected. I got 6 hours use from the Meloso Mini so with my vaping habits that worked out to be around 450 puffs.

Not exactly the figures suggested but then I do have a tendency to restrictive direct lung vape disposables if the opportunities arise.

But there’s one crucial thing of note. These ones really do last the course. By this I mean consistently deliver quality flavour right up to the very last puff. On each occasion, I was caught off guard by a fully depleted battery.

To put it another way, the last vape is as good as the first. You have my word on that and I guess that’s down to the dual mesh coil tech employed.

There’s a world of difference between the Meloso Mini and many other disposables currently circulating. So fair play, Geek Bar. Job well done.

Final Review Verdict

Each disposable I sampled was very, very flavoursome. Concentrated and sweet, with a sensible layering of Koolada where needed.

Overall blending was spot on with the exception of Cherry Ice – and I’m wondering now if that was a defective product.

Simply because the rest of them were solid performers from start to finish.

OK, the actual fruits didn’t taste particularly authentic – I was expecting something else given natural fruit extracts were used but in each case I knew what I was getting.

And what I was getting was a taste the new or casual vaper will undoubtedly enjoy as they start out on their own particular vape journey.

The MTL experience was a little off kilter. I felt there was a tad too much airflow to really emulate the act of drawing from a cigarette but that’s just personal opinion.

I was more than happy to restrictive lung hit the Geek Bar Meloso Mini and in doing so received vapour production in excess of what I was expecting. Bonus!

To conclude, the real star of this vape show is the dual mesh coil structure employed. Absolutely brilliant, driving home continuously great flavour throughout use.

geek-bar-meloso-mini-disposable-vape-reviewI've reviewed a lot of disposables and I'm here to tell you the Geek Bar Meloso Mini is probably the most consistent one I've ever vaped. The flavour, although not as natural tasting as I'd hoped for holds up remarkably well throughout. Every vape is as good as the last and I think that's down to the dual mesh coil structure used. If you're looking for a solid and reliable disposable vape look no further. Highly recommended.
