Lost Vape furyan with bonza rda

The Furyan is Lost Vape’s First Full Mechanical Squonk Mod, It’s Definitely A Looker But How Does It Vape?

The Lost Vape Furyan squonk mod is the first full mechanical device from Lost Vape and despite its high end looks it is from a company known for expensive mods relatively pocket friendly.

There’s two versions – the very smart silver and black and the polished ultem and brass which is the one I received for review.

Lost Vape were one of the first of the major companies to embrace the whole squonk mod scene with the much loved Lost Vape Drone BF and the Therion BF DNA75 – so they know squonking!

Being a full mechanical device you will need to be confident with your knowledge of both Ohms law and battery safety – this is extremely important so please do your research!

OK a quick trip to Google tells me the name Furyan comes from the aliens in the Riddick series of films.

These guys have weird eyes and superhuman powers from what I can gather and the Furyan mech mod is definitely an eye catcher but does it give a vape a super hero would enjoy?

Let’s take a closer look.

The Furyan was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review direct from Lost Vape – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Inside the Box

A hint of the quality to come begins with the packaging – remove the cover and there’s a wonderful slide apart high quality box with everything packed neatly away inside:

Key Features

This is a full mechanical squonk mod featuring a soft 9ml capacity squonk bottle.

It’s made from brass and polished PEI / ultem and can take an 18650 battery using the adapter or a 20700/21700.

ultem 18650 adapter

BTW the 18650 battery adapter is the smartest one I’ve ever seen being small perfectly formed and made from matching ultem – very smart!

The 510 connector is silver-plated with copper positive and negative contacts and has a good spring to it.

Both the battery and squonk bottle are removed via the lift and lock sections in the base and a spare bottle is included.

The squonk bottle has a very handy metal rim that you can grip whilst filling – nobody likes juice squirting on their hands!

furyan bottle battery caps

It’s a simple matter of popping the bottle back in lining up the lock feature – pressing and locking into place – so simple yet very effective.

There’s also a locking switch underneath the large fire button.

I have seen other reviewers taking the whole thing apart for cleaning and maintenance however this isn’t something I’m comfortable with doing.

Design and Build Quality

I’m on record as to not being a huge fan of anything ultem however – here’s my fickle side coming out again – I have to say the version I received whilst a little more blingy than my usual taste is a stunner.

I’m guessing it’s the fact its polished and therefore see-thru that appeals – the carbon fibre sticker on the battery door housing may seem a little out of place – though Lost Vape are well known for mixing things up a bit and for me it works…just about 😉

furyan carbon fibre

There is a black and silver rendition which might appeal to the anti-ultem brigade but the more I’ve used my version the more it’s grown on me – like I said fickle!

The brass coloured button is large and has a relatively long throw to it and the safety switch seems solid and works well.

Furyan is engraved on the top of the mod and looks very nicely done and the design of the bottle and battery caps look good and operate very well indeed.

As you might expect from a company known for its quality the build is excellent and the battery door has a lovely – if a little long – thread to it that really is silky smooth.

furyan battery compartment

The bottle comes out after lifting and twisting to find the corresponding notch and is housed in a kind of metal cradle.

So a very cool design and great build – so how does it vape?

How Does the Lost Vape Furyan Perform?

I’ve used this with the Augvape Templar RDA with a single coil and the Vandy Vape Bonza RDA in dual coil mode.

I’ve used simple stainless steel micro coils that I checked at 0.15ohms for the dual and a little higher on the single coil test.

Straight away you know you’re vaping on a superb device – the ramp up time is incredibly fast – this is of course down to the build but even popping in a couple of Aliens at 0.3ohms the Furyan didn’t miss a beat – it hits!

furyan bonza

It’s got a real kick to it too especially with the Bonza and basic build in it – wow!

BTW that’s with both the 18650 and the 20700 – I don’t have a 21700 to test but have to say I’m sure it will be just as punchy maybe even more so.

Filling it is a dream and the bottle like the one I use daily in the Therion BF 75c is just the right side of soft to make squonking a pleasure.

remove furyan squonk bottle

The squonk action is a delight too with the merest of touches giving the coils a good soaking and sucking out the excess liquid.

Given its see-thru I’ve not noticed any arcing and the safety switch works very well indeed – I carried it in my back all around Vaper Expo for two days without any issues or indeed leakage.

furyan mechanism

Look it’s a Lost Vape device and trust me it performs as well as you’d expect from the company – in fact it might even surprise you just how well it does perform – did I mention it hits like two well shod feet from an angry mule???

  • Stylish ‘high end’ design
  • Superb build quality
  • Kicks like the proverbial mule
  • 9ml capacity
  • Perfect squonk bottle and action
  • Wonderful threads on the bottle and battery compartment
  • 18650 – 20700 and 21700 battery compatible
  • Decent price point

  • You need nails or tool for tabs on battery and bottle compartment
  • Not easy to take apart from cleaning and maintenance

Final Review Verdict

I’ve been fortunate to try/review a couple of very good mechanical squonkers including the Vandy Vape Pulse and the Arctic Dolphin CREA but without doubt this is the best I’ve had the pleasure of using.

Looks alone won me over as soon as I saw the first photos and trust me in the hand the Lost Vape Furyan looks and feels even better!

However it’s the whole squonk thing that does it for me – from the ease of filling and removing the bottle to the perfect squonk action – it’s flawless.

As to the hit – like I said with a fresh 20700 battery in and decent low build this is a double whammy from the proverbial mule wearing heavy horse shoes!

My daily mod is the Therion BF 75c which I love – and the Furyan is pushing that one out a bit if I’m honest lol so that tells you all you need to know about how I feel about this one 😉

Given this is a Lost Vape device I’m impressed with the price point too – whilst it’s not cheap it really is value for money given the materials – build quality and overall performance.

Just buy one already!
