Matchless Electronic Cigarette
The Matchless brand of e cigarette is another (such as VIP and E-Lites) that is focusing part of it’s resources to stocking ‘bricks and mortar’ stores as a way of supplying their product to the end user.
They do also sell online and although the website is easy enough to navigate it’s not as easy on the eye as other branded e cig websites out there.
Ecigclick were sent, free of charge, a selection of their product to review.
There is no starter kit as such, or at least as you may have seen with other brands but the product we received (the below are all sold separately) was as follows:
Matchless rechargeable e cig, Blue – Contains 2 ‘Aquamiser Cartridges’ 1 Battery and 1 USB Charger.
Matchless Blue King Size Disposable E Cigarette.
Matchless Red King Size Disposable E Cigarette.
Matchless Mint SuperKing Size Disposable E Cigarette.
Matchless have designed their disposable e cigarette to look like an actual cigarette, this is something that many new e cig users are looking for, something that resembles a cigarette.
This is something that can be important for those trying e cigs for the first time, it does help make an easier transition from smoking.
The actual disposable battery itself is attached to the cartomiser and as the name ‘disposable’ hints at you simply throw this away once it no longer works. There are two types of disposable from Matchless, the King Size and the Superking.
Again they have tried to keep things easy for the smoker to recognise and as with their tobacco cigarette counterparts the Superking version is larger than the King Size and provides more in both the amount of puffs you get and the amount of time the battery will last.
According to their website you should expect to get 300 puffs from the disposable SuperKing and 200 puffs from the disposable King Size.
These numbers of course could be different depending on the person and their vaping habits. For instance if you are taking 1.5 – 2 second drags you may get to these numbers but for those with a 4 second drag you may find this number cut by upto half, it is also dependent on the battery outlasting the cartomiser.
This is however the same for any brand. As the actual performance goes the disposables worked well and were reactive to every drag.
The rechargeable Matchless e cigarette battery is of course re-usable and after the first few charges was lasting around one hour to an hour and a half of vaping time which is just OK for an e cig this size. Again the battery responded well and helped provide a smooth draw.
Overall – The batteries for both the disposable and rechargeable e cig are reactive, the battery life on the rechargeable e cig is just OK although.
Vapour / Flavour
The matchless disposables come in 3 different and are pretty much colour coded so they are easier to understand.
They have the full strength Reds (24mg), medium strength Blue (18mg) and the Mint which is also 18mg.
The mint and tobacco flavours were decent, not the best I have tried if you were to compare to other brands such as Vapour2 Cigs but definitely not the worse.
If it is the first e cigarette you have tried then you shouldn’t get any nasty shocks!
The vapour volume on the disposables was OK and the rechargeable e cig performed vey well in the vapour volume department.
Matchless do offer replacement cartomisers, or aquamisers as they call them. These are in a sealed tub containing 5 and are available in 24mg, 18mg, 12mg and 0mg nicotine volume for those wanting to wean themselves off nicotine gradually.
Overall – The tobacco and mint flavours were just OK when compared with others and the vapour volume is good. Whilst there is a lack of flavours on offer there is a good offering of nicotine strengths from 24mg to nicotine free.
Matchless offer a 7 day return policy on unused and unopened product within 7 days. They also offer a 30 day warranty on their battery products. As usual please see the T & C’s on their website for upto date information!
They are available via email and freephone telephone as well as having an active Twitter account.
We haven’t come across any Matchless discount codes as of yet but rest assured if we do we will post them here at ecigclick.
Overall – If you skipped to the end!
The Matchless product is obviously aimed at the new e cig user, so for those that have been vaping for a while and maybe tried other brands you won’t necessarily find anything new here.
However, for those brand new to vaping that maybe just want to try an e cig at a low cost to see what all the fuss is about then Matchless disposables are a good option. I would recommend the SuperKings here as you will be getting a little more product for a small additional outlay.
When it comes to the re-chargeable, again this does do the job but it still feels like a tester kit. Would be nice to see Matchless provide a more complete kit here with 5+ cartomisers and 2 batteries but even if they did have this there are other brands and kits available for just a touch more money that offer better quality and increased customisable options.
Rounding things up, Matchless for me is best suited for those that have not tried e cigs and don’t want to spend a lot of money doing so in the process. If however your budget allows then the Magnum Snaps kit from Epuffer is also a great.
