Today I’ve got my greasy mitts on the Monster Vape Labs MVL Classics disposable vapes.

MVL Classic series disposables main imageMVL have been creating high quality E-liquid for a number of years now. The Monster range consists of 10ml Nic Salt and 120ml short fill bottles and there’s something to suit most vapers.

From frozen fruit to Custard, MVL have created it. I particularly enjoyed their Tobacco Monster range. It tastes extremely authentic, ideally suited to low powered MTL vape kits.

Much of this can be attributed to some of the cleanest and most technically advanced manufacturing facilities the world has to offer.

Although based in Florida it’s nice to know MVL still have a keen eye on overseas vaping trends and habits.

The MVL Classic Series range is now available in disposable form, known as Monster Bars and available under TPD regulations to UK vapers.

What Can We Expect From The MVL Classics Disposable Vape Range?

Salt nicotine is known for its smooth inhale and the ability to stave off cravings for a cigarette.

The MVL Classics Disposable vapes contain 2ml of 20mg Salt nicotine e-liquid which makes them ideally suited for the heavier smoker.

They don’t appear to be available in any other strength.

Each disposable will last for anything up to 600 puffs (equivalent to 20 cigs) powered by a 550mAh integrated battery.

MVL The monster is back web bannerA single mesh coil takes care of the 50VG/50PG E-liquid ratio and with auto draw as standard, it is ready to go – straight out of the box.

The familiar artwork of the Classic Series has been splashed all over the outer cartons, giving them an instant appeal.

The actual disposables appear quite drab in comparison. The flavour identity is merely stamped over the top of a plain colour designed to represent the included flavour.

Alchemist

MVL AlchemistMVL Says:

Complementing the juicy-tasting, tart notes of mixed Berries with a chilly burst of icy Menthol on the exhale for a cool and fruity vape.

I Say:

I get a very strong smell of Menthol when I rip this one open but it translates much, much better on the exhale.

It’s the predominant theme with Alchemist yet strangely doesn’t impact on the fruitier elements of the vape.

These are able to tumble effortlessly out underneath and Blueberry seems to be the key player. There’s possibly a hint of Raspberry but I don’t pick out much else.

It’s almost as if the fruit is encased in that icy blast. Strangely enough I’m also reminded of Bubblegum. The vape seems to carry that texture.

A sweetness (there’s plenty of it) filters through later and leaves an impression on the lips post vape.

I feel the inclusion of Menthol as opposed to Koolada gives Alchemist a nice, cutting edge.

The fruit has a nice blending and as a consequence, everything seems to come together quite well.

The Count

MVL The CountMVL Says:

Fuses the tart notes of mixed fruits and Cherries with the juicy taste of mixed Berries, cooling them down on exhale with Eucalyptus, Menthol and Aniseed.

I Say:

Eucalyptus provides the backdrop to the flavour and is tinged with Menthol during the exhale.

It feels very much like a mixture of Strawberry, Blackcurrant and Raspberry. It’s one of those vapes where you really do feel as if you’re getting a medley of fruits.

The flavours blend to create a distinct and rather unique taste. As a combination, the juicier elements of the vape develop early on and really do help to flesh things out.

It’s nice to be able to vape a disposable without fear of too much Menthol. It’s clearly present and cools the throat down on the inhale.

Just remember that you won’t be bombarded with over concentrated or intense flavour.

This one is more for flavour freaks that appreciates subtle measures.

Killer Lemon Tart

MVL Killer Lemon tartMVL Says:

A decadent dessert blend that pairs the zingy flavour of Lemon Custard with rich Pastry notes.

I Say:

Being a bit of a dessert fan, I have to admit I’ve already tried this one in the 10ml salt nic Classic Series. How does the disposable counterpart fare?

It’s not quite the same but of course that’s due to power and coil restrictions.

MVL haven’t really been able to pull it off so well because the vape lacks sufficient heat to catapult those Pastry notes into life.

As a result they feel raw, underplayed and a bit out of place.

I still get enough of the Lemon Curd topping and tartness to the flavour but the final exhale still feels considerably weaker than the bottled version.

There’s a delicate hint of sweetness thrown in but it’s really by way of a token gesture than anything else.

It’s a nice attempt by MVL to port this exquisite dessert vape across but it’s never going to be the same in disposable format.

Minister Of Mango

MVL Minister Of MangoMVL Says:

Recreating the fruity sweetness of exotic Mango from inhale to exhale for a straightforward vape.

I Say:

Wonderful.

Ministry Of Mango delivers a very tropical, refreshing Mango. As straightforward as it is, it’s no less effective in terms of flavour quality.

It’s juicy, it’s sweet and it’s very thirst quenching – from the opening inhale to the final gasps of exhale.

The fruitiness is very consistent, hitting the palate and nasal cavities in equal measure.

I’ve long been a fan of Mango and ice. This one hasn’t let me down either because the frostiness of the inhale really does lift those tropical notes onto another level.

This results in a succulent, tasty and mouth watering exhale – every time.

I love the way the sweetness kicks in half way through. It just completes the illusion of a chilled summer drink.

Pink Lady

MVL Pink LadyMVL Says:

Complementing zingy notes of Lemon with Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry and Blackcurrant for a fruity vape.

I Say:

There’s quite a concoction of flavours on show with Pink Lady.

I think first and foremost of hard candy sweets such as Refreshers or Love hearts. I don’t really pick out Lemon but there is a fizziness to the exhale. It may be that I’m confusing that with the bitter, citric nature of the fruit.

Of the myriad of flavours presented in the description it’s Blackcurrant that dominates the most.

Blueberry crops up much later in the vape and to be honest, doesn’t seem to play an effective role.

It leaves a pungent, almost sour quality on the palate and tends to tarnish what’s preceded it.

This is a vape of two halves because it starts out promising but ends with a cluster of flavours that never deliver the payload.

Mr Tropical

MVL Mr TropicalMVL Says:

Pairs a zingy Lemonade base note with a juicy-tasting medley of Tropical Fruits.

I Say:

Not bad at all and it’s just as much about the sweetness of the vape as it is the refreshing taste of Lemonade.

It does feel like the popular Summer beverage has been coupled with the taste of Eucalyptus, though. So this instantly makes Mr Tropical unique in terms of flavour.

Personally I think it works because the two seem well balanced throughout the exhale.

The Eucalyptus also lines the throat with a soothing frosty inhale that’s thankfully not too sharp or cutting.

Oranges and Lemons introduce themselves during the belly of the vape, absorbed by the sweeter elements. They seem to work as a team, blending seamlessly against the Lemonade.

It’s not particularly a mouth watering vape but MVL have definitely given us a new disposable flavour to chat about.

Ms Red

MVL Ms RedMVL Says:

A distinctive blend that combines the sweetness of mixed Berries with the dark taste of Purple Grapes and the cooling notes of Menthol, Eucalyptus and Aniseed.

I Say:

Oh Oh! Did I see Grape mentioned in the flavour description?

I’m not a fan – but that’s ok because I can’t make out any trace of the fruit in Ms Red.

In fact fruit content of any kind appears to be very thin on the ground. Yes, there’s Aniseed with its distinct taste and the Menthol is pitched perfect.

It’s incredibly hard to decipher much of anything else. Mixed Berries are mentioned in the flavour description but are buried beneath the weight of Aniseed. I can’t quite figure out why.

This is by far the driest vape out of the seven and even lacks the sweetness needed to bring out the fruits.

No – Ms Red doesn’t work for me, I’m afraid. There’s more than enough cooling and Aniseed but no way near enough fruit to make this one pack any kind of punch.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

The MVL Classics Disposable Vapes gave me 7.5 hours of use. Heavy airflow restrictions meant that RDL vaping was out and MTL was the order of the day. I was vaping quite regularly too – more than the average user would.

If the terms MTL and RDL are going over your head – read our Guide To Vape Styles.

So I suggest that 600 puffs is a realistic figure. A new or casual vaper is likely to get anything up to two days use from the Classic Series disposables.

The flavour and vapour production held up quite well but I did experience random gurgling noises as the E-liquid ran out.

The Blue auto draw LED will blink 10 times when the battery has finally had enough.

Final Review Verdict

Bang went the idea of trying for a restrictive lung vape. So many disposables let me get away with it. This range was having none of it!

I think that’s due to the tapering on the mouthpiece. The outer diameter is around 10mm but the inner drops to 4mm. I also believe it’s why I get a suctioning effect.

So the MVL Classics Disposable vape doesn’t give me the most comfortable of mouth to lung vapes either. Don’t get me wrong, it does work but just feels a little odd. I highly doubt the newer vaper will notice.

As far as flavour goes I feel a bit underwhelmed. That’s not something I often write when it comes to disposable vapes.

It seemed to come a distant second to the Eucalyptus, Aniseed and Menthol. At times the blending was fine, other times there wasn’t enough to hold my interest.

If the concentrates used were directly lifted from the bottled E-liquid classic range I’m not sure what’s happened.

Maybe the battery has the clout but the mesh coil hasn’t?

You’ll have to be the judge of that.

Let me know in the comments section if you have tried the MVL Classics Disposable Vapes.

mvl-classics-disposable-reviewI must admit I've tasted better disposable vape flavours than the ones on offer here. The MVL Classic Series are average at best. The Eucalyptus, Aniseed and Menthol all work effectively together but have a tendency to smother what little flavour's on offer from the fruits.
