I’m feeling quite fruity today! That’s because I’ve got the ‘ole brass bands on the Twelve Monkeys Oasis 50ml short fill range.
Twelve Monkeys are a Canadian based manufacturer with nine years of experience behind them. All of their E-liquids are manufactured in house under strict ISO 7 cleanroom laboratory conditions.
More often than not it’s a deliberately time consuming process in order to ensure the most consistent flavour quality possible. Each bottle is carefully steeped prior to release.
They’re probably most recognisable for classics such as Kanzi and Mangabeys. Two complex tropical fruit flavours that epitomise everything they represent.
A uniqueness rarely captured elsewhere in an E-liquid bottle.
The Classics range has been created for Sub ohm flavour chasers, the Salts range for MTL vapers using lower powered devices. The Ice range reboots the Classic range and the Origins range is tailor made for the everyday casual pod user.
It’s no surprise to learn that Twelve Monkeys have won countless awards within the vaping industry including here at Ecigclick for Best International Brand in 2017.
Our own Neil Humber reviewed the Twelve Monkeys ‘Monkey Mix’ Origins range and concluded that they were:

What Can We Expect From the Twelve Monkeys Oasis 50ml Short Fill Range?
The Oasis line is brand new to the Twelve Monkeys Monkey Mix series. It features familiar tropical fruit flavours but they’ve never appeared in this combination before.
So I’m hoping we can expect the same level of layering and complexity found elsewhere.
The Oasis quartet contains a 75VG/25PG liquid ratio. So this makes them perfect candidates for RDA’s (Rebuildable Dripping Atomisers), RTA’s (Rebuildable Tank Atomisers) and sub ohm tanks.
Because they come in a 60ml short fill bottle there’s 10ml space for a single nicotine shot of choice. As an example, I’ll be applying a high VG 18mg freebase shot to create a 60ml 80VG/20PG ratio with a 3mg nicotine strength – ideal for the RDA I plan to use.
Of course, if you’ve been successful enough to ween yourself off nicotine altogether the option to vape them straight from the bottle is there.
They may taste slightly stronger, so expect an added bonus!
Bottle Presentation
As always, Twelve Monkeys have created stonking bottle artwork. Set against a tropical island backdrop, the names of each flavour are colour coded and clearly presented.
I absolutely love how each flavour ingredient is mentioned so full kudos to Twelve Monkeys for getting such a simple thing so right!
A use by date is clearly printed on the bottom of the labelling.
The labels have been rolled onto the bottles perfectly, arriving free of creases, air bubbles or signs of lifting. In my opinion, bottle presentation is very often a visual representation of what to expect inside.
Of course you also get the obligatory tamper proof seal and all important child proof cap.

Please remember that flavour is subjective. What I pick out using my set up may very well differ from your own choice of device. Use my thoughts as a rough guide as to what to expect.
So I’m using the Digiflavor Drop V2 RDA to test the range with dual NI80 fused Clapton coils. Cotton Bacon V2 is the wicking medium of choice, replaced with each test. The SX Mini SL Class V2 is my Mod of choice and the coils are registering at 0.2ohm.
I’ve set the power to 60W / 3.4V.
Zen

I Say:
Wow! There’s a lot going on in the garden of Zen!
And this isn’t your average Melon. I was expecting something much more chemical tasting, sharper and sweeter. With Zen I get a much softer, Pear like after taste.
Boy, is this a creamy vape too. Much of this can be attributed to the amazing Banana content. It tastes fresh and ripe yet still maintains a subtle balance.
The way in which the Melon and the Banana combines is truly fascinating.
The bendy yellow fruit appears first on the way out then fuses and blends with the Melon in a smooth, seamless manner. That rich, creaminess is omnipresent at all times.
The inhale provides plenty of sweetness and this continues to permeate throughout the exhale. Therein lies the juicier, mouth watering properties of the vape and that’s where I find the Pineapple.
Both sweet and tangy, Pineapple is also perfectly replicated. Its aroma is noticeable on the drip tip, its effect felt on the palate post vape.
Just how Twelve Monkeys have managed to cram all three flavours in is quite beyond me. It’s a truly complex mix of tropical fruits and for this reason highly captivating as a vape.
Talk about moreish. I almost got a dry hit chain vaping this one!
Paradise

I Say:
The bottle aroma smacks of Coconut but little else.
Coconut is the most consistent and ever present player throughout the vape, too. It tastes delightfully creamy, fresh and natural, creating an incredibly smooth vape throughout.
A deft touch of sweetness is pulled from the ripe Pineapple which isn’t, thankfully, sharp or chemical tasting. It’s as far away from the sugary, hard cubed sweets version as it gets.
In other words, its non obtrusive and actually quite subtle, blending and mixing perfectly with that tropical Coconut.
I mentioned how smooth the vape is. I think some of the richer, denser properties of the exhale can be attributed to the Banana content. As far as flavour contribution is concerned, expect more effectiveness at the start of the exhale and with the after taste.
I have a minor gripe with the Strawberry. It’s only really present via a few tart like notes that duck and dive throughout. There are no sweet, zesty like properties to lift the flavour we all know and generally enjoy.
As you can tell by the flavour description, Paradise is a very complex blend of tropical fruits. Twelve Monkeys have done their finest to fuse all four concentrates. However, it’s Coconut and Pineapple that ultimately steal this particular vape show.
I think you’ll need very receptive taste buds to pull out all four fruits.
Haven

I Say:
The major player in this one is the Pear. It’s succulent, juicy and sweet and provides a degree of roughness to the exhale. All the characteristics I look for in this particular fruit.
Indeed the inhale is both sweet and tart, something I picked up on from the get go.
The Apple is also very fresh tasting and fuses perfectly with the Pear. This is where most of the citric qualities of the exhale can be found, adding another tasty layer to the vape.
It’s probably just my taste buds but I’m also inclined to suggest the presence of Orange. It’s almost created out of the fusion between Apple and Pear.
So there’s a taste rich in flavour with Haven but I did struggle to pick out the Grape. It seems hidden under the shadow of the Pear/Apple combo and tends to present itself much later towards the end of exhale.
Even then it’s by subtle measures. I found it to develop more as an aftertaste, lingering around the palate post vape.
Pear and Apple are both dominant flavours in E-liquid so to an extent this apparent weakness is understandable.
I’m no fan of Grape vapes anyway so it’s more of a relief than a disappointment.
Harmony

I Say:
So Peach is the aroma experienced when pouring Harmony over the coils of the Drop V2 RDA.
This is a very smooth inhale where Peach is indeed the dominant, fruity flavour.
As far as Berries are concerned, I can pick out delicate hints of Strawberry and Raspberry. They’re both subtle but fuse and mix in their own little flavour channel throughout exhale.
I think the success of Harmony is down to one main ingredient – Lychee. Now I know it’s not going to please everyone – Lychee is another ‘love it or hate it’ flavour but the way Twelve Monkeys have combined it with Peach is mind blowing!
It reduces some of the sweetness of the Peach without removing inherent tart like qualities. As a result, the overall juiciness of the vape remains intact.
Almost as though Twelve Monkeys have designed a brand new drinks based flavour.
Harmony is a vape that demands extended inhales – that’s the best way to get the most out of the resulting flavour combination.
And you will experience everything mentioned on the bottle – Peach, Berries and Lychee.
Full marks to Twelve Monkeys for getting everything so, so right!
Final Review Verdict
Let’s get this out of the way first.
Rarely have I vaped E-liquids on an RDA that offer so much flavour consistency. From the very first inhale to the final gasp exhale, the Oasis range delivers the goods.
More impressive than that is the flavour mixing itself. It’s not very often I’m able to distinguish three or four flavours from a single E-liquid bottle.
Zen represents everything I’m looking for in terms of flavour quality. A rich, sweet and creamy vape bursting with fruity authenticity. The blending is absolutely incredible and dare I say, a possible contender for my E-liquid flavour of the year?
..Time will tell but I’ve not tasted a vape this good for at least the last year!
So all four in the line up have quality traits. They’re juicy, succulent, sweet and above all very authentic and natural tasting. I can tell high grade concentrates have been used and in no way have they been skimped on.
I did struggle a bit with Paradise but as we all know, flavour is subjective. The cotton does stain up a bit after a day’s use but the E-liquid is perfectly clear with no artificial colourants added.
Vapour production is insanely good. Expect a mass of thick, swirling white cloud to accompany the incredibly rich and authentic tasting flavours.
So to conclude, I echo the words of Mr Neil Humber.
Absolutely recommended.
