So what do we think of the Crown 4 Kit? Will it be the King of Vapes or will its Crown slip? Let take a detailed look……………….
This Kit was sent to us for the purpose of review. As always my thoughts and views are my own.

Design and Build Quality
The Uwell Crown 4 Kit comes nicely displayed in a card box with an over sleeve, and some spares to get you started.
The Crown 4 Atomiser is made of SS, Pyrex and Delrin. The tank breaks down into 6 parts including the pre installed coil. The 25mm diameter Crown 4 tank is very well designed and the build quality is top notch, it features a host of improvements from the previous tanks in the Crown series, including a sturdier construction, a simplified ¼ turn cap, the top-fill port has 4 kidney shaped slots. The tank has adjustable cylon bottom airflow with triple slots. The chimney section has a “Min” line for liquid level; Branding on the tank body is at a minimum with just a crown one side. The tank boasts an innovative, self-cleaning technology in which the coils are able to absorb excess e-liquid into a separate chamber, which can then be vaped later on!
Not only does this help to reduce e-liquid wastage, but it means that you don’t have to clean the tank as often as you would with other tanks.
The kit is supplied with 2 stock coils 0.4Ω (60-70w) and a 0.2Ω (70-80w). Both coils are SS904L standard round wire. Two glass tanks were supplied with my kit a 5ml and 6ml bubble glass. The tank is topped off with a black 510 delrin drip tip that has a metal ring to match the colour of the tank. All the treads function well with no burrs; the O rings are all of good quality.
The Crown 4 Mod is made of zinc alloy and aluminium; the mods vital statistics are 84mm x 52mm x 25mm. The protruding plastic firing button has a raised crown projection and is nice and clicky. As are the adjustment buttons. The USB charge port is located under the adjustment buttons. The Oled screen, while bright, is a little small but it does display all relative information. As a dual 18650 battery mod the device will fire up to 200 watts in power mode and 120w in TC, the battery sled is a nice clean plastic, and the battery orientation while moulded into the plastic can be seen best in bright light. The 510 connection is effective at preventing e-liquid from leaking into the mod; the connection thread is stainless steel and well turned and the gold plated pin is spring loaded.
The Crown 4 mod is made for comfort and ease of use; both sides of the device have an anodised aluminium panel in a stunning Baroque design. The battery door is held by 3 strong magnets on the door and inside the battery compartment. Uwell have added a newly-designed circuit board, which helps to extend the lifespan of the device and improves the performance of the mod. The bottom of the device houses the battery venting as well as 2 silicone strips (feet) to aid in preservation of the bottom of the device.
The quality and design of the Uwell Crown 4 mod is excellent.
Basic Guide to First Time Use
It is possible to change the coil while the tank is half filled with e-liquid.
Crown 4 Tank
- Choose which glass tank suits you best, the glass is held by 2 thick O rings which can make it difficult to remove the glass I recommend running this section under warm water to aid removal.
- Pre wick the coil by dipping some liquid into the coil to start the cotton soaking
- Re assemble the tank
- Remove the ¼ turn top cap and fill with liquid of your choice
- Replace the cap and leave to the side for a few minutes so the coil can soak up more liquid
Crown 4 Mod
Place 2×18650 batteries into the mod and replace the magnetized battery door! Screw on the tank! You are now ready to enjoy your new Crown 4 kit.
- X5 clicks to turn the device on and off
- X 3 clicks to enter the wire selection mode, Power, TC– SS and TCR
- X1 click after wire selection in TC to alter the wattage
- To lock the adjustment buttons fire and up adjustment button together
- To lock the device fully fire and down adjustment button together
- Reverse the above steps to unlock
- To flip the screen hold both adjustment button together
How Does The Uwell Crown 4 Kit Perform?
For this review I have installed the 0.2Ω coil and filled the bubble tank with 3mg 50/50 Raspberry & Apple by Vapouriz.
It’s been a couple of years or so since I used any Uwell products, I am impressed by how the company has matured in this time, the quality and design of this kit is simply beautiful.
Power Mode 50 to 80W
Starting at 50w with the airflow (AF) set to half the resulting vapour was quite thick with a very yummy flavour.
Upping the wattage to 65w with AF to ¾ open the vapour was very thick and the flavour was very good.
80w AF open fully! I found the result was a little on the hot side for me and my micro lungs LOL, however the vapour was again very thick, so much so I almost filled my small office with 2 toots, the flavour for me was a little muted.
I prefer to fire this combo at 60w and ½ AF.
While I don’t normally fire my Mods in TC during my normal vape time the tests I ran with the SS904L supplied stock coils left me in no doubt that the Uwell Crown 4 mod fires extremely well.
I have been firing the unit with my normal 420f and 60w, maybe it’s my imagination but the flavour I get from these coils with those setting is exemplary, the amount of vapour produced was thick, nice and warm.
I’m very satisfied with the Uwell Crown 4 tank which is unusual for me where sub ohm tanks are concerned.
Although I will say that in both modes chain vaping did leave the tank rather warm with some heat transfer to the mod, this is not unexpected as chain vaping is not the normal practice.
I have had no leaks from the tank not even purged vapour residue.
I have tested the mod with my Innokin iRoar Eurus RDA with a variety of different coils at different wattage’s up to 120w almost ruining my micro lungs LOL. The mod performs great at higher wattage even if it’s too much for me, while the ramp up is a tiny bit slow when compared to my Artery Hive 200.
The silicone strips or feet on the bottom of the mod, I personally feel they are to close together! If you knock the mod slightly while it’s standing it will fall over. While Uwell have mesh coils for purchase separately for the tank, they didn’t include one in the box, in the day and age of mesh coils this would have been nice to see.
Finally, some may the drip tip cover might be a good idea, for me personally it’s a wasted gimmick.
- A very good looking kit
- Build quality is very good for both tank and mod
- Design is good for both tank and mod
- Menu usability is simple
- Very good vapour production
- Good flavour production
- No Mesh coils included
Final Review Verdict
Well I have to say I am impressed with the Crown 4 kit. Both together and as separate items. While they are well built and gorgeous to look at I wouldn’t call the kit the king of vapes but it does a prince of a job at trying.
I would say that the whole kit is aimed at the intermediate vaper.
I was a little confused with their choice of stock coils included with the kit because of the popularity of stock mesh coils these days I was expecting them to be included! The idea of the drip tip cover is a novel waste of time that I will never personally use.
Would I buy the Uwell Crown 4 kit should mine get damaged or lost? One word “Yes”.
