The Vandy Vape Mesh RDA is one of the latest atomizers from Vandy Vape, founded in early 2017 by one of the main designers who worked for Digiflavor.VandyVape Mesh RDA with its box

Vandy Vape have already had great success with many of their resent releases including the Govad RDA of which I did a review for not long ago, Kylin, Berserker, Pulse and Pyro.

I’ve got to say Vandy vape are creating some high quality, incredibly engineered products at brilliant prices.

Vandy Vape Mesh RDA

The new Mesh RDA is no exception! It is somewhat of a curiosity for those who never had the chance to use SS mesh back in the day as a wick in a Genesis Atomizer. Or speaking for myself in an RTA I used to use SS wicks in my old Kayfun

Let’s go and take a closer look at the Vandy Vape Mesh RDA. Is this a game changer and one of the best RDA for flavour available?

Design and Build Quality

A good looking 24mm RDA albeit slightly plain looking. The Mesh RDA is made from Stainless Steel, the one on review is Gold plated. They also come in SS, Black and Rainbow colours.

The sleeve of the RDA has a dual and single airflow which can be altered with the top cap, the sleeve also has an “M” emblem engraved into it.

The Mesh RDA is a post-less deck which is not only designed to take a half loop of mesh wire but will also hold conventional wire builds from huge single coils to micro dual coils.

The 510 connection pin is gold plated as is the included squonk pin. The RDA comes as standard with a selection 3 sheets of mesh wire (Ni80, Kanthal and Stainless Steel 316) which is a great inclusion as it gives users the chance to try out different Meshes within the RDA.

A quick guide to Coiling and Dripping The Vandy Vape Mesh RDAVandyVape Mesh RDA ready to vape

Locate the sample mesh wire that Vandy Vape include in your box and choose which type you wish to use, for this example I will use one of the SS316 sheets!VandyVape Mesh RDA mesh ribbon

  • Take your RDA apart by removing the barrel
  • Please note on each side of the build deck are two flat head screws to operate the clamp system
  • Take your sheet of Mesh and carefully place one end into one of the slots on the build deck, tighten the screw and repeat for the other end of the mesh sheet!

For this example you will need lots more cotton to wick the coil than you would normally use!

  • Place the wad of cotton through the coil making sure to fill every available space within the coil or you will get dry hits or your cotton will burn.
  • Wet the cotton with your favourite e-liquid
  • Replace the sleeve and top cap making sure to line up the coil with the airflow holes!

You are now ready to enjoy your first vape with a mesh coil.

*Tip: cut a small piece of mesh off to lower your ohms, a full piece is normally 0.2, I cut a small piece off and the ohms dropped to 0.16

How Does The Vandy Vape Mesh RDA Perform?

In the last few weeks of owning the Mesh RDA I have used loads of different builds with conventional wire as well as the included Mesh that Vandy Vape include with the RDA.

For this example I used the included SS316 Mesh, I’m also using one of my DIY e-liquids “Strawberry Vanilla cheesecake” 3mg nicotine.VandyVape Mesh RDA and liquid

I have used the Mesh RDA on various mods, RX3 Gen, RX DNA and my LMC200.

In TC mode on all the mods I tested this RDA with I found my normal temperature of 420F was a little weak so I set the mods to 460F and the resulting flavour from this setup was second to none.

I have been making this e-liquid now for many months and can honestly say that mesh for me is the way to go for flavour!

The airflow wide open produced a wicked amount of vapour! But as I prefer a slightly tighter draw to my vape I closed the airflow by half to produced an even more intense flavour with a goodly amount of vapour.

Considering many years ago the only way I had used mesh was as a wick I was pleasantly surprised and a total convert to mesh in TC.VandyVape Mesh RDA TC off

I also tried in Power or VW mode at 60w, 70w and finally settling at 80w, I found that while the flavour was good and the amount of vapour great, with SS316 Mesh the taste for me was slightly harsher than with normal SS316 wire

What I Like

The sheer novelty of doing something different with an RDA!

What a surprise… most of you will know by now I am a flavour junky with the SS316 Mesh installed this RDA fits my bill, for great flavour as well as vapour.

As I suffer from arthritis in my hands coiling this RDA was ridiculously easy, using the large amount of cotton could be classed as wasteful or expensive but the added bonus is you don’t have to drip quite as often as you would if you were using conventional coils.

Talking of conventional coils I love the idea that this will take normal coils of all sizes singles and duals. Again this RDA ticks another of my boxes being gold the sheer bling aspect lol I love shiny things!

What I Didn’t Like

You know I don’t often say this on reviews for Ecigclick or on my video reviews because of being the type of picky character that I am!

I will normally find something I don’t like. Well, in the last 2 or 3 weeks of owning the Vandy Vape Mesh RDA I can honestly say I love everything about it I cannot find one little thing or niggle that I don’t like about this RDA.

Final Review Verdict

I love the Vandy Vape Mesh RDA. Since it entered my life 2 or 3 weeks ago it has become my favourite RDA so far in 2017. Very easy for experienced and novice vapers to coil and use!

Well done Vandy Vape for what I initially thought was going to be flash in the pan, you now have me hooked with exceptional flavour and excellent vapour.

I don’t think I need to say if I would buy the Vandy Vape Mesh RDA again if I lost it or some rotten egg stole it! To be honest with you dear reader I’ve already ordered another one!

Hi my name is Kevin, I started vaping back in 2009 mainly because my little boy at 3 years old was starting to copy the way daddy smoked a cigarette! Over the years I have gained a good amount of experience with different types of vaping hardware but I'm just a normal guy who enjoys sharing my experiences. This is why I started my Youtube vape review channel in 2014. To date the channel has had over 500,000 views. Being disabled, vaping has given me a gateway to meeting people from all different walks of life, many of those I would not have met under other circumstances. The way I look at my reviews is, if I can convince just one person to give up the stinky’s my job is done. I class myself as a tinkerer as I like to take things apart to see how they work and put them back together, yes that includes e-cigarette mods! One day I would like to be able to design my own mod. I am a dedicated father, and husband to my sweetheart of nearly 30 years! Family to me comes before anything else.
