In a Vaping World swimming with ever popular Squonk devices, will the Wismec Luxotic DF Box have enough to offer and stand out from the rest?
The Luxotic DF Box is the latest offering from Wismec and comes as a dual 18650 vape Mod, 200w kit including the Guillotine V2 RDA.
The Wismec Luxotic Squonk Box was an ever-popular device and still is to this day. The Wismec Luxotic MF Box, not so much a popular device, more of a Mod for Lego enthusiasts than Vapers.
The Wismec Luxotic DF Box has a rather weighty feel in the hand, though, does sit rather well in my very medium hands. It is designed well but will be interesting to see at what price point it will be aimed at when you still have the very similar and ever popular Geek Vape G-Box Squonker 200w priced very competitively.
I received the Wismec Luxotic DF Box in Blue, the kit does come in three other colours.
The Wismec Luxotic DF Box Kit was sent to me for the purposes of review. As always, I will give you my own, honest opinion of this product after a lengthy testing period.

Design and Build Quality
The Wismec Luxotic DF Box Kit is a very sturdy built device and it says in the included paperwork “Elaborately carved lines and cutting design delivers a potent masculine force”.
I’m not so sure of the “potent masculine force” but it does sit well in the hand and you aren’t struggling to fire the device whichever way round you have it sitting in your hand.
The device itself is finished very nicely, no sharp edges or awkward protruding edges.
There is some slight movement with the battery door but nothing that will cause great concern. The batteries sit nicely within the Mod and the door closes tight and sits flush with the body of the device.
Guillotine V2 RDA
The Guillotine V2 RDA is quite a versatile RDA. You can use the RDA with either side airflow or, as I prefer to use it, with bottom airflow.
The only one downfall of using the bottom airflow is you have a tendency to over squonk and your e-liquid WILL leak from the bottom airflow openings. For anyone that may not want this, the Guillotine V2 RDA performs equally as well using the side air flow, though in my opinion, slightly lacks the same in flavour as the bottom airflow.
The Guillotine V2 RDA comes with 2 drip tips made from ultem. The drip tip that comes fitted is a wide bore drip tip and the spare is a taller, narrower bore.
The juice well is very deep on the RDA so you are able to store a good amount of juice whilst squonking. The trick is, when putting in your cotton, thin it out quite substantially and you can use this RDA to squonk with ease.
Luxotic DF Box
The screen lays under a dark plastic covering, however, the display is easy to view in direct sunlight or indoors. The display is a 1.3” screen and can be navigated easily.
It comes in a simple design, very easy to navigate with all options accessible with three presses of the fire button (bottom centre) then scroll with the + and – buttons then the set, again with the fire button.
The display consists of Wattage/Temp (depending on your setting), Volts, Coil Ohm’s then a selection between Puff Counter/Time or Amps. Directly under those three are the battery indicators, each battery with its own indicator.
The squonk bottles I received with this kit each hold 7ml of e-liquid. If you are buying this kit within the UK then it will come under the TRPD regulations and will differ.
Filling the squonk bottle couldn’t be easier. Simply screw off the top screw cap, fill the bottle with your relevant e-liquid, screw back on the top and insert the bottle into the body of the Mod from the underside battery door.
One fall back of inserting the squonk bottle whilst you have batteries in the Mod is, you must be careful they don’t fall out as the battery door will no longer be holding them into position.
How does the Wismec Luxotic DF Box Perform?
Well, I must say that the Luxotic DF Box is a competent kit. I do feel that the kit should have been brought out six to eight months earlier though.
The coils I used are a pair of Fused Claptons coming out at 0.15Ω and usually vape at around 75 Watts. I was finding that I was having to vape the Luxotic DF Box at a much higher wattage, that of around 95 Watts to get the same vape that I do from other Mods so I am wondering if it isn’t quite firing at what it says.
I am sure there will be a firmware update in the near future as this kit is firmware upgradable.
The Luxotic DF Box does vape very well. The silicone used on the squonk bottles feels just about right in regards to firmness and the delivery of e-liquid is fine.
I have dropped the Mod twice during my testing and I have one little mark to show for it so it has stood up very well indeed to a drop test, though this certainly wasn’t intended.
On firing the Mod, it fires very quickly indeed, there’s no delay to note once the fire button is pressed.
How To Install The Batteries
The battery door is located at the bottom of the device. The battery door opens with a gentle slide out. To close the battery door, press down gently then slide back across until it clicks into place. The squonk bottle is also accessed from underneath the mod with a removable side section for ease of access.
The Wismec Luxotic DF Box takes dual 18650 batteries. Polarity is marked on the door, though, this would have been better to have it marked out in a different colour to the rest of the door and easier for people with limited sight to see it.
The amount of puffs generated on average were 132 at 95 watts
Flavour and Vapour Production
The flavour is very good. I did find that using the bottom airflow over the side airflow gives a slightly better flavour. If big cloudage (is that a thing?) is your thing, then it wont disappoint, you won’t be getting clouds for days as this isn’t designed as a massive cloud chucker but it will certainly block your view in front of the TV for a little while at least.

My Final Thoughts
The Wismec Luxotic DF Box is due to hit the market as I type. Depending on how well it is priced will depend on how it sells compared to other like devices already out.
I have really enjoyed my time with the Luxotic DF Box kit. It is a great all round Mod, looks good, decent battery life and performs well as a squonking device, I haven’t had any issues at all during my two week testing.
In conclusion, if you are on the lookout for a new squonk Mod or looking to replace something that has seen better days, you won’t go far wrong with the Wismec Luxotic DF Box.
Just an FYI:- TPD regulations in the EU\UK do not apply to Squonk bottles. the regs limit the amount of juice that is held in the tank only, as the squonk bottle does not constitute part of the tank it can be as large as you like.
