Design & Build Quality
One thing OXVA know how to do exceptionally well is to design a sleek pod system that slides effortlessly into my pocket, and with dimensions of 121mm x 26.2mm x 15.2mm and a 78.1g weight the OXVA XLIM 4 certainly ticks the boxes there!
I received the Silken Black Leather and Silken Champagne Leather versions for review and both of these feature a lovely texture finish with a nice tactile feel, making the XLIM 4 a pleasant device to hold in hand.
The finish is pretty scratch and chip resistant too, I’ve given these kits a really good run over the time that I have had them and the finish has held up superbly well, they look pretty much as good as when I first took them out of the box!
You’ve got ten finish options to pick from in total, with Aurora Petal Pink, Aurora Petal Purple, Nacre Pink, Nacre Purple, Nacre White, Silken Black Leather, Silken Brown Leather, Silken Blue Leather, Silken Champagne Leather and Black Carbon.
The stand out feature on the device is the Visible Ring Light, which encircles the large power button on the front of the XLIM 4. This has been designed to simplify the vaping experience, without the need for a screen to display information.
Here, you can check the current power output and battery status at the click of a button, and this lights up with a bright, pulsing, multicoloured LED light effect whenever you take a puff.
XLIM Top Fill Cartridges attach magnetically to the XLIM 4 device, though there is a fair amount of wobble present, but thankfully I’ve not had issues with the pod disconnecting from the device in my pocket.
When the pod is in the device, you can see the full e-liquid level so you’ll always know when it is time to refill, and thanks to the design of the top fill system you don’t need to remove the pod from the device to refill it.
Quick Start Guide
How to Fill the Pod
As you don’t need to remove the pod from the XLIM 4 to refill it, simply locate the silicone filling port cover on the side of the pod and pop it open to expose the filling port.
Insert your bottle nozzle and fill the pod, leaving a small air bubble to ensure that e-liquid doesn’t leak back out of the filling port.
Thanks to OXVA’s new Quick Prime technology, you only need to let e-liquid stand in the pod for 30 seconds before taking a puff- meaning there’s less time waiting around before you can get vaping on your new pod!
Operation
The OXVA XLIM 4 is an auto draw device so in order to vape it, you simply take a draw on the pod. Changing settings on the device is done via button presses.
Changing the power output is achieved by pressing the power button twice in two seconds. You need to then look at the ring around the power button, which will be solid at first then will display the power level as a fraction of the ring-
- Low power will have a small fraction of the LED ring displayed
- Medium power will have half the ring illuminated
- High power will have the full ring illuminated
It took me some getting used to at first but it’s quite a cool-looking visual effect!
You can also adjust the lighting that is displayed on the ring when you take a puff, this is done by pressing the power button four times in two seconds. There’s an option for a multicoloured display or a solid single colour, but no options to switch it off entirely.
Battery level can also be checked by pressing the button once. If a green light is displayed, then there is 100-65% left, if a blue light is displayed then 65-30% remains, and when red is displayed then there is less than 30%.
Charging
A USB-C charging port is located on the side of the XLIM 4, which means the XLIM 4 can be stood up whilst charging.
There’s a USB-C cable included in the box, which just needs to be attached to the device and to a suitable power output. The light ring will illuminate whilst charging and will blink out when full.
5V/2A fast charging is supported, and the XLIM 4 can be fully charged up in under an hour.

How Does The OXVA XLIM 4 Perform?
Power output on the OXVA XLIM 4 ranges from 5-30W, however to utilise the maximum 30W output you will need the 0.4ohm OXVA Top Fill Cartridge, which is sold separately.
The XLIM 4 is compatible with the full OXVA Top Fill Cartridge range, featuring 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2ohm pod options.
A 0.8ohm OXVA Top Fill Cartridge is included within the kit, and this is excellent for mouth to lung vaping, as well as having the benefit of being compatible with restricted lung vaping at the high power setting with the airflow opened right up.
The three different power settings do offer noticeably different experiences. At low power, there’s a smoother and more relaxed vape, medium offers a good balance between a relaxed but slightly more intense vape, and high power offers a richer, warmer and more intense vape.
My preference was definitely the high power setting, but it would be interesting to try the different power settings out with some of the different resistances available in the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge range.
Thanks to the Super Pulse system, power delivery is very consistent all the way from a fully charged battery to an almost empty one, I experienced a very solid vape all the way through with no degradation in quality when the battery was running low.
Also, coil ramp up time is near instant, with vapour delivery as soon as I start to draw on the pod!
Flavour
Equipped with the 0.8ohm OXVA Top Fill Cartridge, the XLIM 4 easily tackles both MTL and RDL vaping styles, and can handle both freebase and salt nicotine e-liquid formulations.
Though, I’ve found it better suited to high strength nicotine salt to satisfy my nicotine cravings!
Powered by the latest Unitech 3.0 vaping technology, these next-gen Top Fill Cartridges provide exceptionally smooth flavour delivery, offering a clear upgrade over previous versions for a truly premium vaping experience.
Honestly, flavour from my e-liquids really sings in these pods!
Pod Lifespan
A major upgrade in these XLIM Top Fill Cartridges is the shift to Unitech 3.0 technology.
Not only does it smooth out the flavour even more, but it also introduces a triple-layered anti-leak system that genuinely lives up to the hype.
While testing the XLIM 4, I didn’t experience a single leak—just a tiny speck of condensation to wipe away after a few days of heavy vaping.
Pod longevity has also taken a massive leap- over a week of heavy use later, my original 0.8ohm cartridge is still going strong!
Airflow
Airflow is controlled via the vertical airflow control located on the side of the XLIM 4, with buttery smooth airflow control allowing me to adjust the airflow using my only my thumb.
I can adjust the airflow from a super tight draw all the way through to a restricted direct lung vape with the airflow fully open.
Even though I am primarily a restricted lung vaper I did prefer to vape with the airflow just above half open, as I felt that the flavour lost some of its intensity when the airflow was fully open.
Battery Life
A 1600mAh battery is packed into the XLIM 4 and this is more than enough for a full day’s worth of use with the 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge.
I could take the XLIM 4 out with me for a full day and only have to charge it in the evening once I was back home!

Final Verdict
OXVA has once again proved exactly why they sit comfortably at the top of the pod system food chain with the XLIM 4.
It takes the solid foundation of the previous XLIM series and refines it into an incredibly reliable daily workhorse that excels in both form and function.
The absolute star of the show here is the Unitech 3.0 Top Fill Cartridge. Flavour delivery is genuinely outstanding, tackling both MTL and RDL styles with ease, and that 30-second Quick Prime technology is a brilliant addition for those of us who hate waiting around for a new pod to saturate.
Paired with a robust triple-layered anti-leak system and fantastic coil longevity, the everyday vaping experience is practically flawless!
The hardware itself is just as impressive to use day-to-day. The massive 1600mAh battery easily breezes through a full day of heavy vaping, while the 3-level power adjustment and precise vertical airflow control allow you to dial in your perfect draw with minimal fuss.
