I have been looking forward to this – I have in my hands the OXVA Xlim Pro!
It is no secret the love I have for every member of the Xlim family. In fact I have reviewed every model so far, starting with the XLIM V1/V2, XLIM SE, XLIM SQ and the XLIM C.
And all the Xlim kits are still used in rotation daily by me! The coil life and flavour raises them way above any other pod kit range in my eyes.
So I think I can say I pretty much know this range inside out since my first review in January 2022!
Will the Oxva Xlim Pro keep me smiling? Or will it all end in tears?
What Can We Expect From The OXVA Xlim Pro…
I love how OXVA listen to their customers. For instance the V1 Xlim was poo. Responding to the feedback, the V2 device and pods were quickly made available, correcting all of the issues with the V1 kit.
Now the XLIM range has kept evolving and the Pro version has some great updates.
The first main update which has made me happy is the pods.
These still come in the same 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm variants but feature a top fill port. The previous pods whilst being excellent did suffer from fill port covers that sometimes broke and leaked.
Even better is the fact this kit is still compatible with the previous V2 pods which are used in all versions except the Xlim C (which has removable coil pods).
The device has been upgraded to a higher output of 30W max. You can adjust the output and view your data on the small screen provided.
Another addition is the pretty RGB light located under the screen.
The Xlim Pro is draw activated or you can use the fire button to manually fire if that is what you prefer. Plus there is an airflow adjustment slider located on the side.
The battery capacity has also been upgraded to 1000mAh and the USB Type C charging system allows a 2A charge rate.
There are 8 colours to choose from: Black Carbon, Black Gold, Gleamy Blue, Gleamy Cyan, Gleamy Grey, Gleamy Green, Gleamy Pink and Gleamy Red.
Thank you to OXVA for sending these for review. I will report back honestly on my experience with the devices provided.

OXVA Xlim Pro Design and Build Quality
I received 2 of the kits in the Black Gold and Gleamy Green colours.
The outer box has a clear window to view the device design. A pull out tray holds the device with the 0.6ohm pod installed and a separate small cardboard box contains the spare pod, Lanyard and charging cable.
The instructions are OK. They have a diagram of all the components, specifications, how to fill, how to operate and fault protections. This has been crammed onto one page per language though.
If you are struggling to read these you can download the PDF of the User Manual Here and you can of course zoom in to help with clarity.
The Lanyard looks to be of good quality, however it came with just a clasp on the end with nothing to attach it to?
But the other kit contained a Silicone ring to install on the device. So I think one kit was sent with the wrong Lanyard!
OXVA Xlim Pro Mod
The finish is different on both devices.
Each device has a Metallic frame which runs around the top, sides and base of the mod.
The front and rear have the decorative panels.
The Black Gold version has a Black Carbon Fibre effect with Gold Metal edges. You can actually even feel the Carbon Fibre texture!
Whereas the Gleamy Green version has a Holographic stripe effect and Silver Metal Edges.
At the base of the front is the OXVA Logo and the rear is completely plain.
One side features the fire / adjustment button which only protrudes around 1mm and of course you can lock this to prevent accidental firing.
On the opposite side is the “Xlim Pro” logo which is delicately etched in and looks classy.
This side also houses the slide airflow adjustment which is stiff enough to move, it should not adjust by itself. Again the knob of this adjuster protrudes only 1mm so should not get caught on things.
The base has the required Legal logos etched in and the battery capacity. You will also find the USB Type C port here too which I have had no issues with.
It will stand up fine but it is worth noting this iteration of the Xlim is quite a bit heavier (66g compared to the 46g of the Xlim SE) so it will make a bit of a thud if toppled over.
Inside the pod port you will find 2 magnets and 2 spring loaded electrical connections. It is not a deep compartment so if you do need to clean inside it this will be easy.
I did find a bit of a wobble with the pod installed, but it is still held in firmly so no worries about it falling out!
Screen
The screen is concealed within a Black panel and it is invisible until activated.
Measuring the size of the actual display I find it to be 10mm x 5mm.
On the left is the output setting in Watts – this is the largest size text on the screen and therefore easy to see.
Below that is the coil resistance in Ohms so you can see which pod you have installed.
On the right side is a battery icon to display charge remaining, the “W” symbol (for Watts) and the Padlock icon. When padlock is closed the fire button is locked. When padlock is open the fire button is in use.
Below this is the puff count which you can also reset.
Under the screen is a breathing LED indicator light.
You can adjust the lighting effect of the LED and I went with the multicolour breathing effect which looks amazing!
You can cycle between
- One colour moving light (displays battery charge remaining)
- One colour fixed breathing light (displays battery charge remaining)
- LED off
- Multicolour moving light (does not display battery charge)
Below is a video showing me switching between different lighting modes.
I was charging my vape and when I look it was off. Struggle to put it on again, when it was on it only shows the Temp High. I cannot put it of or change anything, please help
Hi Michelle,
I’m undecided between purchasing the PureMax or the Oxva Xlim Pro. Which one would you recommend? Which one has a better flavor?
Thank you!
Hi there, sadly I haven’t tried the PureMax so I couldn’t tell you!
We have reviewed it here https://www.ecigclick.co.uk/sxmini-puremax-review/
But that was by another reviewer Dan who loves it.
I love the Xlim devices and use them daily ever since I tried the first model and they are slightly cheaper than the SXMini. But a lot of people rave about the PureMax too.
So sorry I am unable to give you a direct comparison.
thanks michelle! i think i will buy both of them 🙂
Hahaha that is one way to do it – I don’t blame you!!
Let us know what you think to both of them!
Enjoy!
Hi Michelle,
I wanted to share my opinion as you asked. I’ve been trying out both the PureMax by SXmini and the OXVA Xlim Pro since yesterday.
The coils for the PureMax are much larger compared to those for the OXVA, which I believe impacts the vaping experience. For both devices, I used 0.6 ohm coils at 22 watts with 50/50 e-liquids and fully open airflow. The PureMax provides a completely DTL experience, whereas the OXVA, even with fully open airflow, still feels like an MTL draw.
As for the flavor perception, I was truly impressed with the PureMax. It brings out the nuances of the e-liquid in a way the OXVA couldn’t. Perhaps the OXVA is better suited for different types of e-liquids (I only had a day and a half to test them). I was vaping Don Juan Reserve, and with the PureMax, I could taste all the notes perfectly. In contrast, the OXVA had a more restricted draw and didn’t deliver the same level of flavor.
Another drawback for the OXVA is the 2 ml pod capacity, which I finished in half a day. Meanwhile, the PureMax, with its 4 ml pod, lasted me comfortably throughout the day.
In conclusion, both are excellent devices, but overall, I think I will continue with the PureMax. I would rate it 9.5 out of 10, while the OXVA gets an 8.5 out of 10.
I hope this helps!
Best regards,
Edoardo
I love to hear how other people get on with different kits!
I have yet to try the Puremax but I still love my OXVA’s haha!
Thank you for taking the time to let me know how it went!
So pleased you have found a kit that suits you!
Hi i have an oxva slim pro I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now my screen has gone off and it flashes all colours now does anyone have any idea what going on thanks
I purchased the Xlim pro around one week ago and today I’ve had nothing but problems with it. It’s started to continue to draw on its own after I’ve stopped drawing which isn’t great. I initially thought it had something to do with the mouth piece section so I purchased a new one ( after reading up on everything tonight noticed I received a spare one with my unit in the box 🤦🏻♀️) issue still happening. I’ve cleaned out the bottom with the magnets etc. help!
It sounds to me like you have a leaking pod (tank / mouthpiece section).
I found the pods that come with this kit can leak after filling.
To cure it remove the pod. Put some tissue inside where the pod sits. Blow through the airflow adjustment area on the side (where the sliding switch is) until it stops bubbling.
Also wrap the pod in tissue and blow down it. That should clear it until you refill again.
For a long term solution I would recommend the OXVA Xlim V2 pods. These have a side fill port and very rarely leak. I use my Xlim Pro’s with the V2 pods as I got annoyed with the leaking. The e-liquid gets inside the device and shorts out the firing mechanism and the airflow sensor. For some reason the V3 pods often leak – I have had issues with them before. So switch to the V2 pods and you should have no problems at all. And you will be able to enjoy this excellent kit!
Hi, I have been using the Xslim pro now for maybe a year, I have 2 so 1 in use and 1 on charge. My oldest one is now failing to charge. Is this normal after i would say alot of use? I cant fault the device at all, but just wondered on the life expectancy? I am happy to buy another one as is great for the money. Thkught I would ask, as none of the comments have asked this question. Like i say used to charge as you say quite quickly but now very lengthy and does not seem to get to max battery. Look forward to your reply, as curious. Thank you in advance.
Hi there!
I have every model from the beginning of 2022.
Sadly I have a few that now fail to charge, two of the V2, one of the SE and more recently a Xlim Pro (which may still be under warranty – will check) – but they have been very heavily used daily so I kind of think they have had a good lifespan.
But of course I – like you – am gutted when they do die on me!
I can only suggest trying a different cable and charger outlet. If it still fails to charge it might be time for a new one sadly.
The warranty period is only 90 days so if yours are older than that you are a bit stuck unfortunately. (I just checked and my Xlim Pro is older than that 🙁 )
My knackered Xlim Pro when I put it on charge lights up green but the battery is still showing empty and it doesn’t show the charging graphic.
Thank you Michelle, that is fine, a year out of it, i am happy with and the replacement has been ordered, given it is the only type that has kept me off actual cigarettes, so worth it. This Slim Pro is the best.
Thank you for your reply, i appreciate your feedback.
Kindest regards
Wendy:)
Hi! My Xlim Pro (with a 0.8ohm pod) doesn’t seem to go over 17w output…. do you have to have a 0.6ohm pod installed for it to go over that level of wattage, do you know? I’m loving the vape and have found my perfect settings, so didn’t want to switch over to the 0.6ohm pod and possibly waste what e-liquid I put in there, if you could possibly tell me the answer instead? I’m not sure if it’s a faulty one though…. as when I push the fire/options button it makes a bit of a funny ‘short circuit’ buzz often…. also, it appears that my lock on the auto draw doesn’t work. When I switch the lock on, I can still draw from it as if it wasn’t on. It originally displayed ‘No atomiser’ when I first tried to used it too, but I quickly discovered this was a stuck pin inside the pod port. I gave it a wiggle and it hasn’t been a problem since. Thanks for any advice! 😊
Hi there, yes the 0.6ohm pod and 0.4ohm pod will allow for higher outputs, the device restricts the maximum according to the pod so you don’t burn them out.
The buzz / hiss when you press the fire button is just the device firing – it might fire briefly as you press the sequence of button presses.
As for the lock, this only locks the fire button, so you don’t accidentally fire it in a bag or pocket, the auto draw will still work.
Hope you are enjoying it, it is still my favourite kit!
That clears alot up for me, thank you! I’m loving it, it’s a fab bit of kit. I’ve just ordered some replacement pods as I can see the dreaded tint to the e-liquid you get when you know that time is near! Lol!
I totally agree with you on the V2 pods aswell. I ordered these ones and they’re much better. Easier to fill, less leaks and less mess! Thanks for the help 🙂
Wonderful I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine – you have an amazing kit!!
What is the best set up to use oxva xlim pro.
Ohms, watts , E – liquid
I find the 0.8ohm pods (I use the V2 pods) with 50/50 e-liquid at 16W is perfect for me! I get epic flavour and amazing pod life!
Hi there, everything in yours & every other review online was pretty much spot on, except 1 thing i cant get my head around with these pod kits, & thats the auto draw system, everyone says how responsive it is etc but to me it seems if i dont draw hard enough to almost burst a blood vessel in my eyes they just stutter/cut in & out ? Its not so bad when i close the af slider fully but that dulls down the flavour for me, i love everything else about the pod but this just irritates me, people say its when juice gets in the sensor etc but it did this straight out the box on the first 2 draws off the .8 v3 pod?? so this ruined it for me & iv gone back to my ursa nano pro which is as good in every way bar pod life, im getting between 2400 & 2900 puffs per pods from lost vape & it only slightly stutters on fully open with very light draws, something im doing wrong with the xlim pro? Or would you say the device has faulty auto draw sensor? Thanks
Hmm that sounds like a faulty device to me, I have every Xlim model and 3 of the Xlim pro’s and all of them are really quick on the Auto draw?
There is nothing blocking the airflow in the pod area of the mod is there? It can also happen when e-liquid gets in the sensor and sadly I found some of the V3 pods could leak after filling?
Perhaps try removing the pod and blowing through the fully open airflow slider. Then wrap the pod in a tissue and blow down the mouthpiece. Just in case it is e-liquid – there is a high possibility it is as the V3 pods would push e-liquid out the bottom after filling – I went back to the V2 pods for my Xlim Pro’s.
Otherwise after trying the above, I would take it back / return it to where you bought it from as this is not normal!
nah, it was like this straight out the box, plus im always extra careful when it comes to leaks etc, its not as bad when i close off the airflow fully, and in regardgs to pods i found that most refillables do leak if your not careful, as you said due to airlocks, i found they only really leak if you try to quickly force the rubber bung back in causing it to push liquid out with air pressure from the seal of the rubber before its completley pushed in, & also if you try to fill them so theres literally no room left in the pod i.e overfilling, i find if you fill to about 75% capacity & slowly ease the rubber in at an angle (not square to the fill hole) they seem to be ok, i also cover the airholes at the base of the pod with my thumb when closing the seal so if air is pushed through it goes up the drip tip not out the bottom which is easier to clean especially if you already put twisted tissue down the drip tip before you fill, i might just take it back monday see what they say, just for refrence, have you tried taking 2x lighter draws on yours with the airflow wide open? i noticed if i close the airflow fully & draw a little harder it doesnt do it as much but only if i let it cool for around 2mins between draws, if i try to take 2 draws 1after another its ok on the first but stutters on the second, thanks for your advice.
I am not enjoying the vape as much as you. Infact it has become a complete let down regarding the manufacturing quality.
The tiny black rubber fill bung tab breaks off after only several fills, then you have to have long nails to grab at anything! If you identify as a man , you have no nails, therfore the pod becomes useless unless you try using a pin of some sort, then you attack the bung making it weaker , trying to grab it then it goes inside the pod!!!!!!!! Frustration is to the point I could strangle the designer of this pathetic set up. Time and money wasted. BE A DISPOSABLE OR BE BUILT TO LAST! There is no middle ground here.
Perhaps look into the V2 pods, they still have the rubber bung thingy but you might find them easier perhaps?
I do feel your pain I used to be a nail biter so I could never open anything – so I do understand how awkward it can be sometimes.
lol good thing I read this review I had no idea I could just vape without pressing the fire button. But so far since I bought this last week it’s been great. Way better than my last vape the SMOK rpm 2. That leaked all the time every time.
Awful product I’m on my second in six weeks. works fine then You charge it up and nothing. Shows as charged (solid green line) but you can’t turn it on again.
Third time lucky! These uncommon situations are what warranties are for 😊
Hi just read your review of the xlim pro v3. I currently own the oxva xlim v2. Is it worth upgrading or would the swap not be that noticeable? I’m quite torn about buying it.
Hiya – well perhaps do what I am doing…….
I have multiple earlier XLIM kits on the go but have bought a load of the V3 pods – which are compatible with all Xlims (apart from Xlim C)
The pods are a huge upgrade with the top fill port. Also I have got over 5000 puffs from my first V3 0.8ohm pod so the pod life is even better (will update the review when it finally dies on me!).
If your existing Xlim kits are working fine, I would just keep them and buy the updated V3 pods (now available online in a lot of places)
Of course if you want a bigger battery or fancy a new kit you can’t go wrong with the Xlim Pro!
Hope you are enjoying the Xlim range as much as I am!!
