The Voopoo Rex kit is a new release from a brand who generally knock out some great mods.rex kit poster

Now I am trying to bite my tongue – but I can’t. There is a huge similarity between the new Rex kit and one of the early Voopoo mods – the “Newbie”. See below…

rex newbie

Although they look very alike the Rex does have the new GENE FIT chip used on the Voopoo Drag 2 and Drag Mini mods.

The GENE FIT chip boasts fast firing and like the other models the circuit board is protected from Fire, Dust, Liquid and Burnout.rex kit components

Like the Newbie the maximum output is 80W and you will need 1×18650 battery (not included) to fire this little fella up.

In the full kit you will get the Voopoo UForce sub ohm tank. This has been out for a while and you get the U2 0.4ohm coil already installed and also a N1 mesh coil with 0.13ohm resistance.rex and uforce

There are 7 colours to choose from – Black, White, Red, Blue, Orange, Dark Cyan and Olive.rex kit colours

It took me a few years to fully quit smoking but I finally stopped in June 2019 and that is all thanks to vaping! 20mg Nicotine Salts are my hero! 1. Hi so ive tried rescreaching my problem with my Rex but no luck, it has happen to me twice now I have had it for a week and it’s doing this it goes back to 80w after I don’t use it for a while or when I turn it off then on it’s like something is resetting my vape but no one touches it

    • Mine does this from time to time no idea why, cant find any help on this. Also mine has just started to die from time to time, also the screen crashes and only stays on for a few seconds meaning I cant quickly adjust it. Taking the battery out temporarily resolves the issue. I also find that sometimes when putting freshly charged batteries in it enters into completely different settings. Up until now the rex has served me well

  2. I have been vaping for many years and have remained a loyal follower of EVOD pen devices. I love my Kanger dual coil tank. However, the EVOD batteries are becoming hard to come by in the push button and fire setup. I really have had nothing but bad experiences with twist voltage batteries so am clinging on through the final days of my EVODs. Is this Rex a good straight-forward solution to my problems? Meaning I don’t want to have to mess with settings and adjust all of the time. I want to push the button and get vapor.

    • Hey William,

We haven’t actually used the the Rex but it will of course work just fine but it isn’t necessarily push and go. The Rex requires external batteries to be used (bought separately) and of course wattage change. THe latter of which should improve your experience as you can really dial in the wattage to fit your tank.

Couple of other things to be aware of – If looking to use your Evod tank this has what is called and Ego connection. This is basically the threading that you screw the tank on to the battery.

Most current vape devices have a 510 threading which is not compatible with the Evod tank without an adapter.

Second – The tank that comes with the Rex is a sub ohm tank that delivers a direct to lung vape. This is quite different to the way the Kanger tank vapes, presuming you have the evod tank or similar. The evod is a mouth to lung tank. You can read the difference between the two here.

I know it is all quite confusing but it’s important you are aware of the difference between the two if you want a similar vape to the one you have now.

As a side, there are eVod batteries available online at the Kanger online store and a few others after a quick google search.

If you just want to fill a tank and vape without any change in wattage + a similar experience to your kanger tank then I’d suggest taking a look at pod mod devices. Some don’t even need you to press a button, just inhale to activate

      The following are very good:

      Innokin EQ
      Artery PAL 2
      Vaporesso Renova Zero

For pen style devices (similar to evod design):

      Innokin Endura T18ii
      Joyetech Ego ECO

Of course any clarification or further questions just ask!
