The Innokin Endura T22 is following hot on the heals of the Endura T18. The latter of which is an impressive vape pen for new users.

The T22 isn’t so much an updated device as the design is completely different. It is simply offering a higher capacity battery and tank for vapers that would prefer to have a longer battery life.Innokin Endura T22 Review

The Endura range is designed to be a super simple e cig that is easy for new users to pick up and use out of the box, something the T18 did perfectly. Will this device prove to be more of the same?

Lets take a look with our Endura T22 review.

Endura T22 Build Quality & Design

The Endura T22 is not designed in a vape pen form, instead the battery is more of a vape mod design. I have been lucky enough to try loads of vape mods (box mods) and have to say the form factor of the T22 is up there with the best designs.Innokin Endura T22 Review

It’s superb – It fits perfectly in my hand and the powder coated finish (I think that’s what is is) lends to a super smooth feel making it a pleasure to hold. The ‘go faster’ stripes on each side provide a little grip to finish things of.

Not an ‘in your face’ design, the T22 is simple, classy and small enough to slip easily into your pocket.

The firing button is solid and has very little rattle and the USB charging port is featured on the same side, not on the base like so many other e cigarettes. This just allows you to stand your device upright while charging.

It seems like a simple thing but these little design additions help make the overall vape experience that little bit better – or maybe that’s just me!Innokin Endura T22 Review

There is no menu system here as it functions at a fixed 14W so no need for a screen or extra buttons that are featured on other box mods you may have seen.

T22 Prism Tank

The T22 tank is a new design that duplicates the Prism technology and easy swap coil system of the Apex tank, which is certainly no bad thing as I love that tank! The coils are the same as those used in the T18 coil so can be swapped between the two.

The one great new addition to the Innokin tanks is the new top fill designs making it super simple to refill your tank with minimum fuss and mess.

Filling the Tank

  • Simply unscrew the top piece of the tank
  • Drip your e-liquid down the wall of the tank making sure you DO NOT get any juice in the center hole/top of the coil. If you do the latter you may get a mouthful of juice!
  • When screwing the top back on I would recommend removing the drip tip first and making sure the top of the coil lines up correctly with the hole where the drip tip fits. This just makes sure that the coil isn’t out of place which could course leaking.
  • Wait 5 minutes for the cotton to soak up the e juice and then you are good to go.

So that is it for the looks and build, I’m very impressed with the work Innokin have put in to the Endura T22, both the looks and feel are excellent.

How Does The Innokin Endura T22 Perform?

The T22 is targeted towards new vapers and those that are looking to step up from cig-a-likes. It’s also a great option for vapers that are using a basic vape pen / Ego style e cig that want an improved battery life while still keeping size to a minimum.Innokin Endura T22 Review

So after filling the tank (guidance on that in the previous section) and waiting for 5 minutes for the coils to soak up the e juice we are ready to vape.

For this review I was vaping Colonel Boom Ceasefire which is a 60/40 VG/PG mix.

The flavour from the T22 tank, as with the T18, is excellent. I have used this e liquid with numerous tanks, some of which are the same price as the whole Endura T22 kit and the difference in flavour isn’t a big one.

The vapour produced is also very good bearing in mind this is a 1.5 ohm coil and not a sub ohm vape. The draw through the delrin drip tip is built for mouth to lung, tighter draws.

Prior to carrying out this review I had received an email from an ecigclick.co.uk reader that had purchased the T22 and was concerned that the mouth piece was getting too hot for his lips while vaping.

Keep in mind the Endura T22 is built for mouth to lung vaping.

The way I vape is to take slow and steady 2-3 second draws. I will normally take about 3 separate draws at a time and then rest for a minute and repeat if necessary.

The only way I could replicate the drip tip getting too hot was to do the following:

  • Direct lung inhales with a draw/pull that was 3 or 4 seconds in length.
  • Even then I would only feel it getting too hot after the 3rd/4th draw.
  • Pulling too hard as if you were smoking a cigarette – For new vapers, keep in mind that vaping requires a different draw/pull technique. Slow, soft and steady is the way to go. Not hard pulls.

So if you experience the drip tip getting too hot keep the above in mind. The Endura T22 is designed to be provide a top notch mouth to lung vape and this is the where you will get the best results.

If you are a direct lung vaper then you can definitely still use the T22, just be sure to keep the above points in mind when vaping and go easy with it 🙂

OK, back to the performance!

The tank itself has a 4ml capacity and when paired with the 1.5ohm coil heads should see most vapers through the whole day without needing to refill.Innokin Endura T22 Review

The life of the coils will vary from vaper to vaper. It can depend on many factors such as how much you vape and the the type of juice you use. For me I got through about 2 weeks of moderate vaping before I noticed a change in flavour.Innokin Endura T22 Review

Changing The Coil Heads

This is very simple to do:

  • Make sure that the tank has no e juice in it
  • Unscrew the base of the tank
  • Pull out the coil
  • Push in new coil being sure it fits into place correctly
  • Screw the base back in place
  • Fill tankInnokin Endura T22 Review

How easy is that!

There is one slight downside here for me. The tank has to be empty before replacing the coil so not ideal in that respect. Wouldn’t be a deal breaker though.

Final Innokin Endura T22 Review Verdict

The Endura T22 really is a fantastic kit for new vapers. Innokin have created another entry level product that has no menu’s and no variable wattage settings that can create unnecessary confusion with new vapers.

This is set at an optimal 14W power output that works perfectly with the 1.5ohm coils supplied to provide a superb mouth to lung vape with loads of flavour and plenty of vapour.

I have used all singing, all dancing vape mods and still do, but in the two weeks I have been using the Endura T22 I haven’t felt the need to switch back to any of them. This provided a quality vape with absolutely no fuss with the added bonus of being easy to carry about due to the small size.

For me, Innokin have done it again with another solid, quality product and I have no problem in recommending.

The Good

  • Superb build quality
  • Easy for new vapers to get the hang of and start using within 10 minutes of opening (be sure to buy e-liquid).
  • Great battery life
  • T22 Tank performs very well in both flavour and vapour volume
  • Coils last a reasonable amount of time
  • Priced very well for what you get.

The Not So Good

  • The only thing for me is that the tank needs to be emptied when swapping out coils.

  1. When taking a pull on the t22, do you have to keep the button pushed in the whole time or will this just burn away the juice quicker

    Thanks

  2. I want to buy the T22 Prism and hook it with Joyetech Elitar, its 22 so it will fit right on i guess but im not sure about the airflow? Any suggestions?
    Cheers!

    • They are compatible size wise and looking at the airflow on the T22 tank, that is delivered via two channels on the base of the tank, it should work OK. I’m not familiar with the Elitar though so I’m just going off what I can see.

  3. I got the Innokin Endura T22 yesterday. It is just burning my lips. I’ve heard I have to inspire soft and long but it is still burning. What can I do? Thanks a lot!

  4. Hi johnny
So I have A few questions and problems with my t22. I keep getting a gurgling sound n spitting when I smoke this I have changed the coil n juices but it keeps leaking on the bottom into the battery. When it does this I will take it off n blow thru the top and a ton of juice comes out of the thread then it stops for awhile then does it again it’s been doing this a lot lately, please help I’m getting very frustrated

    • Hi Tiffany,

What PG/VG juice ratio are you using?

Also, when you refill it make sure no liquid goes into the center of the coil, this will cause flooding/leaking. Try just filling 3/4 of the way. When replacing the top cap do so with the mouthpiece off, this will help you align the top of the coil opening with the opening in the top cap.

If you see a build up of juice on the top of the coil just take a piece of tissue rolled up tight and pop this down through the top cap hole onto the top of the coil. This will just help mop up any excess juice, if there is any there.

Hope you get it sorted Tiffany, let us know how you get on.

  5. I’m a newby. Initially had a cheap corner-shop ecigalike which was awful. A mate suggested trying a better device so I got the T18 which was was a completely different experience to the corner-shop thingy. The problem was the T18 was so leaky I couldn’t carry it in my pocket.

As I was so taken with the experience (haven’t wanted a cigarette since I got the T18) I bought the T22.

I haven’t noticed a difference in the vaping experience, but the fact I can carry it my pocket without leakage make a vast difference in practical terms. The fact I can charge it when it is in a vertical position should not be underestimated. The T18 USB port is in the base so it can only be charged when it is lying at an angle (presumably hence the provision of the stand). The T18 in the stand still leaks.

I will carry on using the T18 at home but for out-and-about use the T22 is a clearly better product.

  6. I have the T22 but had to change the tank as was struggling to get coils. Guy in a local vape shop recommended and sold me the Aspire K3 tank but every time I change the coil (Aspire nautilis 1.6 ohm) it burns out despite priming and leaving 10 mins. So frustrated I want to lob it out of the window. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Oh….so my comment got deleted then. Thanks. That took me a while to type out.
    .
    Here is a shorter version….

This is an AWFUL vape experience. The T22 cannot be used with VG juice.

    • Hey JLo, no not deleted, your first comment was 11:30 pm and your second at 8:49am, I hadn’t logged in between those times 🙂

Yes different devices are suited to different VG/PG ratios.. coils in starter kits like the T22 are best served using 50/50 or 40/60VG juices at a max. PG is a thinner juice than VG. They are not recommended for higher VG juices.

Sub ohm coils like those in the SMOK V8 are best suited to higher VG juices and lower nicotine strengths. The bigger coils with wider holes on the coils can handle thicker VG juices.

You can check out the following guides for more info on this

Guide to VG and PG in Your e-liquid
Mouth to Lung vs Direct to Lung (Sub Ohm) Vaping

Harshness of juice is generally down to higher nicotine and higher PG juices.

The only other thing I can think of for the harshness from what you say is that the cotton seems to be burning at some point.

This can be down to taking too many drags in quick succession. The e-liquid need to be given time to ‘wick’ or in other words soak through from the tank reserve, through the holes in the coil head and onto the cotton. If there are any dry spots then the heat of the coil will burn the cotton. When this happens it can cause a harsh throat hit that unfortunately can only be rectified with a new coil.

Also, vaping is different to smoking in the ‘how you do it’ sense. Vaping is a softer slightly longer draw where as with a cigarette it is more of a hard, short, sharp intake if that makes sense. So try the former and go easy on the draws.

Once you know a device and a coil and what it can take you will be able to gauge when taking a draw if you should cut it a bit shorter or take that longer drag.

The only other thing is that it’s possible that the batch of coils you had may have had an issue. It happens from time to time although rare.

There is a 2.0 Ohm coil that requires less power from the battery which may provide a less harsh vape.

Let me know how you get on!

      Cheers

      Jonny

  8. As a new vaper i found the different choices bewildering but i read a few reviews and decided to go for the Endura T22

Prior to this i smoked 15 Silk Cut Purple a day (this was 10 before they ridiculously banned packets of 10)

I didn’t want to fall victim to the governments (Tobacco company sponsored (in my opinion, not the opinion of the website)) plot to get people to spend more on cigarettes. So i decided enough was enough and began my vaping journey.

    I visited Vape Shop A and bought a T22

I was shocked at how harsh vaping was compared to smoking Silk Cut Purple. It made me cough and splutter. Even when it didn’t, i felt on the verge of coughing.

The shop i got the T22 from (Vape Shop A) had also sold me 2 bottles of 12mg e-liquid. Which was (i believe) 95% PG. Although at the time i didn’t know there was PG and VG. I just thought the E-Juice came in different flavours and strengths.

I complained to a vaping friend about the harshness and coughing. He suggested i try 6mg strength.

I did. It was less harsh but still harsher than Silk Cut Purples. Plus i wasn’t certain i was getting the nicotine i needed.

I needed some more coils. I went to Vape Shop A and they sold me some 1.8 ohm coils.

    Still harsh.

Then i heard about VG. So i went to Vape Shop A and asked for some VG juice. They said my coil wasn’t suitable for VG and that the most i could use was 60/40

    They sold me some 60/40

I did think this was much better. I thought “This is it. This is what it’s all about”. That lasted for a day. Then the harshness returned.

    I swapped the coil.

    I got fresh juice.

I went to a different vape shop. Vape Shop B

The man in vape shop B said T22’s aren’t very good because the coils they use can’t take more than 60% VG

He let me try (what i think was) a SMOK V8

    It was much much smoother.

He offered to sell me one at a really good price. I declined because i didn’t have enough money on me. Also it was only about 10 days since i bought the T22

I returned to Vape Shop A. I bought different e-juices, stronger, milder, stronger, milder, much milder. All 60/40

Most seemed ok for the first couple of puffs but then too harsh after that.

Everywhere i look, the T22 recieves good reviews. So what am i doing wrong?

Whenever i change the coils, i always get tweezers and pull everything out. There is always a black area on the cotton. Even on those i have only used for a day.

YES – I wait at least 10 mins after putting in a new coil, before beginning to vape.

I started my last coil of the packet of 5 yesterday. I think rather than buy more coils i am going to return to Vape Shop B, pay the extra and get a Smok V8

Unless anyone has any other suggestions?

I don’t know if anyone will read this. So i may post it elsewhere. So apologies if you have read it before.

  9. Hi. I buy juice at 90-95% VG with distilled water and 1.8% as i am very allergic to PG.
Is the supplied Innokin tank as good as any other for this purpose ? Or is there a better alternative?
    Regards,
    Colin Biggs

    • Hey Colin,

The T22 tank is best suited to a max of 60VG, possibly 70 VG.

What battery/tank setup do you currently use?

I have heard many people try opening up wicks a bit more for high VG use. To do this just poke a few small holes into the cotton openings. But it’s not an ideal solution.

If you are looking for a mouth to lung vape with higher VG then the likes of the Kayfun V5 would be a good option although they aren’t the cheapest and not that easy to get hold of.

It may be worth getting in touch with Jacvapour about the S22 tank. Ask them if this is capable of wicking 90% VG. We only tried 70VG but worked just fine.

You will then be looking at the likes of the SMOK TFV8 tanks but these are sub ohm, direct to lung tanks.

In short, if you are looking for a Mouth to lung (MTL) vape your options may be more restricted. If you are looking for a Direct to Lung (DTL) vape then this opens up more possibilities.

If you are unsure oth the differences you can check out our DTL vs MTL guide.

      Thanks

      Jonny

  10. Just got the T22 after years of using a simple pen device. I love it…the only thing im starting to give up on is the leak between the coil and battery! Seriously doing my head in!

    • Hey Sarah!

May be worth double checking the coil is seated correctly.

      – Unscrew the base section to reveal coil
      – Ensure coil is sat correctly
      – Screw the base section of the tank back on.
      – Important to make sure the base screws on properly as this also pushes the coil up and helps seal.

If the above doesn’t help it may a case of the coil needing to be replaced.

Also Sarah, what PG/VG ration e-liquid are you using out of interest?

      Cheers

      Jonny

      • Hi Jonny
Done all that, and replaced the coil yesterday. Ive actually stopped the leaking by using one of the extra seals in the screw on base. Doesnt affect performance although now getting a really strong burnt taste despite leaving coil to soak on first use etc. Can i use any other 510 tank with this unit? Im currently using 50/50 😊

        • Strange one Sarah, was the new coil still leaking as well?

Regarding burnt taste. The problem with burning the cotton is, once it’s burnt you have to replace as you cannot get rid of the taste. No saving it unfortunately.

I have burnt coils by accident (still do now and then). When I do this the coil needs replacing straight away. Also, be sure not to empty the juice back into the bottle when refilling because the juice can also become contaminated with the burnt taste coming through.

In theory yes, you can use another 510 tank, I think the wattage from the Endura T22 is 14W so you would need to be sure the coils/tank you are looking at are rated for use for around 14W.

Which SMOK tank are you looking at using?

      • In addition….can i use a smok tank with the unit, as long as i stay within the 1.5-2.0 ohm range? (Or what would you recommend?
        Thank you

  11. I have recently purchased your product. I’ve been vaping only for a year, so not very experienced. Why is the e-cig far too hot to smoke? I assumed that the coil in it was set to go after resting it after filling the tank. What have I done wrong?

    • Great to hear you are enjoying the Endura T22 Wendy!

The O rings that come in the pack are just spares. It’s unlikely you will need to use them. I’ve had my Endura tank for around a year and not needed to use them.

      Thanks

      Jonny

  13. Hi Jonny, great review, but I have a question, is this T22 device still good or is there something newer/better for us beginners ? Does the T22 consume a lot of juice like some high end devices ?

    • Hey Brian,

The Endura T22 is one of those devices that kind of stands the test of time for a mouth to lung device for beginner vapers. So in answer to our question, yes I think it’s still an excellent starting point.

As for juice consumption, it’s a lot more economical than the big sub ohm tanks you see so nothing to worry about there. There are some real guzzlers but this isn’t one of them!

One note on juice, the T22 (as with most MTL tanks) is better served with a 50/50 or 60VG/40PG juice. The thicker e liquids that are higher in VG may not wick too great.

If you want, you can read more about the difference between mouth to lung and direct to lung vaping here
And more information on PG vs VG e-liquids here.

Of course, any specific questions you have on anything let me know and I’ll do my best to answer.

      Thanks

      Jonny

  14. Hi Jonny
I have just purchased the T22 , totally new to vaping
In the kit there appear to me 2 plastic “tips” which are not detailed on the box or in the manual , I am assuming these are to attach to the drip tip or use as an alternative . Do you know how to replace or use please?
    Thanks
    Maria

    • Hi Maria,

When you say tips do you mean the drip tip/mouthpiece? This is the part where you place your lips to take a draw when vaping.

If so these will be spares. To replace, it’s a simple case of removing the mouthpiece in place, by pulling off. Then just pushing the new mouthpiece in place in the top of the tank.

There is an image on the inside of the box lid that shows the parts in an exploded view. This is how they all fit together. You can see the diagram I am talking about above, second image down.

Let me know if the above is what you are referring to and any other questions please ask.

      Thanks

      Jonny

      • Hi Jonny

Thanks for your reply and yes that is exactly what I meant…figured it out now and ready to try it out. I am impressed with the battery charging , very quick.
Being new to this I just wanted to say that your website offers lots of useful knowledge and advice. I spent a long time researching vaping but found the info here the most honest and non-bias. Hope to be kicking the smokes before too long.
        Thanks again

        • Thanks Maria.. Makes me a very happy man to hear that ecigclick has helped you out!

Good to see you’re getting started OK.

I’m certain you’ll be of the ciggies before you know it! I was amazed how quickly I made the switch and the products weren’t half as good when I started.

Any other questions you have please feel free to get in touch.

          Cheers

          Jonny

    • Hey Eddie,

The Aspire ET Clearomisers have an EGO thread connection. So, as they are, they will not connect to the Innokin T22 battery which has a 510 threaded connection.

If you take a closer look at each products threaded connections you will see what I mean.

If you have or can get a 510/Ego adaptor then you should be OK using it as long as the coil resistances are similar.

  15. Hi,

Just got this, but unfortunately it keeps leaking out of the mouth piece – both of them actually.

Do you know why this would be?

    Thank you.

    • Hi Clara,

Leaking through the mouth piece / drip tip could be one of the following:

E Liquid may be too thin – Higher PG juices tend to be thinner / more viscous. What PG/VG ration juice are you using?

‘Drawing’ too hard and too quick – Try and vape soft and slow.

As a quick fix try ‘mopping up’ any excess juice or condensation build up in the drip tip and top of coil. Just remove the actual mouth piece and where it connects clean with rolled up tissue or q tip.

I have found some coils can take a short while to break in.

Also, may be worth trying another coil head.

Let me know how you get on!

      Thanks

      Jonny

  16. hi i bought this product two weeks ago in my last attempt to find an easy to use kit with plenty of flavour wish i had found this ages ago, i dont think its just a beginers kit if you want a reliable device that does the job no meesing around with volts/watts buy this one after nearly giving up no fags for two weeks and no cravings hope this helps others to bin the nasty fags i have been saved lol

  17. I stopped smoking 20/ day cigarettes completely with using this vape. Reliable and very easy to use, refill, change the coil.
    Highly recommend it 🙂

  18. Just got this its amazing
Only thing that I’m unsure about is when its charging there is no green light to say it’s charging is this correct?

    • Hi Andrea,

Great device, glad you are enjoying it!

      According to the Innokin instructions

The ENDURA T22 battery charging status is displayed via a green and red LED.
Red = The ENDURA T22 Personal Vaporizer is charging.
Green = The ENDURA T22 Personal Vaporizer is fully recharged.

Do you get the red light when charging?

      Cheers

      Jonny

      • Hi thanks for the reply
No red light but when I’ve charged over night the green light is on its not let me down as of yet so I guess it must be fully charged.

  19. Been using the I taste clk a few months great starter kit also.got the T22 as a back up kit for Xmas love it now the clk is kept for a spare.also agree the 60/40 mix works well.was smoking 40 a day up to mid Oct .saving a fortune thanks innokin from a truly happy vapor 🙂 happy 2017 all 🙂

  20. Hey there, thanks for the review.

I am very close to decide on this as my first e-cig. I will probably buy it online and got it posted from abroad thous since it is not sold in my country. However it is the coils that I am actually worrying about. Can I use any other brand’s/model’s coils with this one? If not, I think I will have to consider Joyetech Ego Aio (which I can see in many stores) as an alternative. Any tips would be appreciated.

    • Hi Evren,

You can’t use any other brands coils in the T22 but that is pretty much the same (in most cases) for all other e cig brands and models. There isn’t a universal size when it comes to the coils themselves.

I got on well with the Joyetech AIO and I’m sure it will be great for you as a first e cig. It’s very small and easy to use.

As a personal preference, the T22 provides better flavour though.

Any other questions let me know and be great to hear what you go for!

  21. Getting a lot of bad coils with this device. Sporadic sudden/pop in heat burning the mouth, like hot cheese on a pizza.

    • Hey Stephen,

Not a huge amount! Basically, the lower resistance coil (1.5) will provide a slightly warmer vape with a touch more clouds and throat hit than the higher resistance 1.8ohm coil.
The 1.5 Ohm coil will need a touch more power to fire it up so you may find battery life a little lower with the 1.8 ohm coil.

Be worth trying both to see what fits your needs.

      Cheers

      Jonny

  22. hey guys, I am thinking of buying this, but I am just wondering whats the highest VG% I can use with this, as I prefer juices with a higher VG content, cheers.

    • Hey Zeb

I use 60VG/40PG regularly with the T22. I have also used a 70%VG e juice with the Endura T22 with no problems.

What juice ratio were you thinking Zeb?

      Cheers

  23. Another Great review, Love this would have to get two because i just know if i only got one it would disapear in someone’s hand bag lol

  24. Looks really cool, I like the red stripes, but I think the Cool Fire 4 Plus looks a little sleeker, and I think the larger battery capacity is an important advantage. Nothing more frustrating than an e-cig with a dead battery!

  25. The Endura would be a good mod for any one with smaller hands and don’t want something they have to fight with just to enjoy a good vape.

  26. I’ve just purchased one of these for my girlfriends mother to get her off smoking, the build quality is brilliant, the vapor and taste is superb, it’s not bulky like most starter kits and vapes nicely, since she’s owned this she has not smoked a single cigarette and is now trying out new flavours and experimenting with different coils to see what she prefers most.

  27. I think this is a great starter kit I am thinking of buying two for my step dad and his girlfriend so they can stop smoking also.

  28. I’m really considering getting this for a friend as a nudge to help get them off of cigs. It seems to have most of the basics covered and I love Innokin’s brand.

  29. It’s Innokin, so the quality is probably superb as the other Innokin products. Looks like a good start point for new vapers

  30. Spot on review
This has got to be at the top of the list for a starter device or even for people that like to mouth to lung vape , top marks
