The IVG Juicy range e-liquid review and I feel this UK based manufacturer needs no introduction, maybe not even on a global scale, why?
Well, not only do they have an office based in Preston but they’re also firmly established in the US, Asia and South America, talk about putting it about lol!
If that wasn’t impressive enough, IVG is about to relocate in Preston to larger premises in order to accommodate their increasing popularity.
That’s awesome news in a year full of doom and gloom because that will open doors on another 150 jobs in the vaping industry.
“Switch to vaping, lead a better lifestyle” is their mantra and it’s clearly serving them well.
Award Winning E-Liquids
Established in 2016 in the UK, IVG has risen to dominance in the global vaping market, and they’ve won countless awards at various events. As a result millions of people around the world in over 100 countries across 6 continents are Vaping Great because of IVG.
So when I write of IVG needing no introduction it’s because their e-liquid ranges would appear to speak for themselves.
In fact, such is their confidence and commitment they’ve released their very own closed pod system with a choice of four award winning flavours to choose from.
Now IVG present us with a new Juicy range well suited to the long, hot summer months ahead…
Yes! We’re well into Autumn (at the time of writing) but isn’t that the beauty of vaping?
It’s Summer all year round for us folks!
What Can We Expect From The IVG Juicy Range?
I’m reviewing the 50ml short fill version of the Juicy range and comparing it to the nicotine salt alternative.
The short fill edition comes in a 70VG/30PG ratio. Bear in mind this ratio will fluctuate especially if applying a high VG nicotine shot. It does also mean that it’s suitable for all power crazy devices including RDA’s and RTA’s.
The 50VG/50PG nicotine salt edition is perfect for starter kits and low powered pod devices. It’s available in 10ml TPD compliant bottles at strengths of 10 or 20mg.
There’s also a 50VG/50PG 10ml TPD edition, available in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg free base nicotine strengths. These will work well in devices that crave much less power.
Who knows? It may be only a matter of time before they appear as concentrates, ideal for a skin flint like me lol!
It looks like the range has been split down the middle with two featuring cooling agents. One appears to be influenced by a classic drink and another suggests a concoction of mixed fruit.
Presentation (Short fill bottle)
Incredible! Maybe I don’t get out enough but this is the first time I’ve seen silver topped bottles. And how they work!
What an ingenious way of standing out from the crowd and more importantly, along the shelves of vape outlets across the land, that strikes me as a mark of confidence.
The label designs are none too shabby either. The metallic silver backdrops complimenting the bottle lids perfectly. This allows the colourful foreground schemes to jump out in all their iridescent glory.
It goes without showing the trademark IVG logo takes pride of place at the top of the labeling. Unmistakable and probably familiar to many a vaper across the land.
One thing I always look out for is how the labels have been rolled onto the bottles. Once again, IVG pass with flying colours. Neat, tidy and evenly pressed, it’s attention to detail that matters, even before trying the flavours.
Either that or I’m just a fussy …. lol
What Am I Using To Test The IVG Juicy Range?
Short Fill Range
I’m going to be using the Wotofo NexM sub ohm tank with the rebuildable deck. Through experience I know it performs well across a variety of flavour categories.
It’s also capable of handling the additional high VG freebase nicotine shot IVG has kindly provided.
Airflow will be set mid way giving me the semi restrictive direct lung vape I prefer. It will increase flavour output while serving a healthy dose of vapour production.
Powering it will be a single Ni80 fused Clapton coil with a resistance of 0.26ohm. Cotton Bacon V2 will be the wicking material and I’ll be vaping around 55 – 60W.
The tank will be cleaned, the coil dry burned for any residue remaining and new cotton used before trying each in the range.
Nicotine Salt Range
This version of the Juicy range is specifically targeting starter kits and higher coil resistances so I’m going to use the Vaporesso Barr with its 1.2ohm disposable mesh pod.
It’s perfect for nicotine salt E liquids and I’ve found it to give amazing flavour reproduction. The tightest restriction setting will be used to represent the best MTL experience.
New pods will be used to test each in the range with a fully charged battery prior to vaping.
Before we dive in, I would like to thank IVG for sending these across for the purposes of review.
As always, taste is subjective. Your experiences with the flavours may differ wildly from mine. There’s no right or wrong – just individual opinion.
IVG Juicy Forest Berries Ice Short Fill
A distinguished blend of natural dark blackberries with hints of blackcurrant and red currants, brightened up with a sweet burst of red cherries.
An initial inhale of icy cooling agent blasts the rear of the throat full on with Forrest Berries Ice. Of course it’s to be expected but it took some time to acclimatize to. For the first few hours it was bossing the profile.
The fruits are evident from the get go but they’re certainly more subtle than I was expecting. However, the level of sweetness that falls from the blackberries and red cherries are perfect thanks to this subtlety.
I had difficulty picking out the red berries from the description but blackcurrant appeared to hold the fusion of fruits together creating a “just one more” vape feeling!
It’s certainly more a blend of summer fruits with a candy like edge, offering something a little bit different.
Cloud production is thick and frivolous given that I’m using a single coil set up.
The flavour notes never falter during exhale and the cooling chill of the inhale ends up being a very satisfying accompaniment.
IVG Juicy Forest Berries Ice Nic Salt
The ice cold smoothness of Forest Berries Ice tickles the back of the throat on the inhale and the sweetness of the fruits kiss the lips whenever vaped.
This sweetness is noticeable on both inhale and exhale making it the dominant theme of the profile.
Also prominent are the red cherries and blackcurrant which blend together very well creating a cocktail of flavour. Talking of flavour, Forest Berries Ice is a keeper so to speak because it’s very consistent with every vape.
Vapour production is suitably stealthy for a 50VG/50PG ratio which means I’ve been vaping any and everywhere!
IVG Juicy Pina Colada Short Fill
The ultimate Pina Colada cocktail made with fresh pineapple juice blended with coconut milk topped with fresh cream and shaken with crushed ice. Leaving you with the most authentic Pina Colada drink, all in one vape.
Wow! Sweetness is the weakness with Pina Colada with a level that’s pitch perfect, tickling both palate and taste buds in a playful way.
It’s a very impressive blend of fresh (not chemical or synthetic tasting) pineapple and coconut. The majority of pineapple inspired vapes create an unpleasant sharpness during the inhale, often tasting like those cube shaped sugar coated sweets.
Not so here as the creamy goodness of the milk content softens any rough edges instantly removing any harshness on the throat. The cream content has a habit of lurking as a back note but don’t be fooled! It does just enough to assure a sweet and mellow exhale.
The coconut is never underplayed, consistently mixing with the tropical fruit. It’s like a match made in heaven for the flavour created. IVG obviously know its concentrate ratios and Pina Colada demonstrates that very well.
Unlike Forrest Berries, the cooling agent has been minimalised and does much to help replicate the famous drink profile.
So it’s a cool, smooth vape with ample vapour production. Any self respecting cloud loving sub ohm vaper is bound to appreciate that.
Dessert island vape? I’d say so!
Authenticity is indeed the order of the day with Pina Colada. It has to be one of the best drinks profiles I’ve tried and believe me – I’ve tried a lot!
IVG Juicy Pina Colada Nic Salt
The beauty of vaping 10mg strength nicotine salt in a low powered vape device is twofold.
Not only is the “fix” delivered quickly but the inhale is always very smooth. This smoothness plays to the unquestionable strengths of Pina Colada.
The sourness of the pineapple is picked up during the icy cold inhale while the tropical flavour notes literally explode on the exhale.
Intertwined is the trademark sweetness found throughout the IVG Juicy range, always helping to keep the interest levels high.
There’s no forgetting the coconut milk either, adding additional richness and a slightly nutty back note. A splash of cream can still be tasted in this nicotine salt version.
Pina Colada is an exemplary e-liquid. It excels in flavour authenticity and the fruit concentrate simply can’t be any closer to the real thing.
It’s an all year vape in my opinion.
IVG Juicy Berry Medley Short Fill
A unique medley of dark blackcurrants, packed with sour raspberries finished off with a green apple juice, the perfect summer concoction.
Out of the quartet, this is the sweetest one of the bunch. Without doubt the sweetness can be attributed to a combo of fruits used, green apple juice leading the way.
That’s where the sour back notes originate, adding a welcome sharpness during the inhale. The blackcurrant combines very well with the apple, creating something of a unique blend.
Raspberry tends to ghost the exhale, yet omnipresent, always providing a richness and depth to the vaping experience. As a consequence, a candy like edge is created while flavour authenticity remains fully intact.
Cloud production is superb, filling the throat on the inhale and tumbling out thick and swirly. It may be born out of enjoyment but I’m sure the vapour production is improved with Berry Medley.
Low levels of cooling agent have been applied and it’s here that IVG strike the perfect balance. It never overpowers, soothing the throat during inhale while magnifying the flavour explosion of the exhale.
This is an extremely moreish vape and the perfect summer accompany in my opinion. At no time does any one fruit element boss the other. The levels of sweet and sour are expertly balanced, helping to make this an all day vape.
My favourite of the bunch? It certainly lives up to the “juicy” description of the range.
IVG Juicy Berry Medley Nic Salt
Berry Medley is another IVG creation that bursts with flavour on every vape.
Although never mentioned in the profile description I can pick out a cooling effect on the inhale. It’s not overpowering and mixes well, especially with an authentic blackcurrant.
The blackcurrant and associated sweetness powers Berry Medley and is the driving force. Raspberry appears as a back note, its sourness being more prevalent than the fruit itself.
I’m not able to pick out much of the green apple juice however, coming across somewhat muddied and muddled. That’s a little disappointing because it would’ve helped to create more of a seasonal cocktail.
Cloud production is what I’d expect from a 50VG/50PG ratio in a low powered device. At least it won’t be “bothersome” to any non vaper. In fact most non vapers I know were quite curious about the pleasant aroma!
.. Non vapers showing interest in a flavour profile? Unheard of! Go, IVG!
IVG Juicy Tropical Ice Blast Short Fill
A complex merge of freshly squeezed and iced exotic fruits bringing you notes of sweet and sour kiwi followed by natural luscious red watermelons, rounded off with delicate amounts of sour green apples.
Tropical Ice Blast is the most intriguing juice out of the quartet…let me explain why.
The inhale provides a suitably icy blast that latches into the sour nature of the green apple, leaving an impression long after the exhale. The apple isn’t as pronounced as Berry Medley, lurking under an apparent cluster of tropical fruits.
During exhale I’m able to pick out the tangy tartness of the Kiwi but little of the fruit itself. I’m not a big lover of Kiwi so that’s no great shake.
There’s also a creamy smoothness to the vape which may be the only thing I can associate with the watermelon. (Red watermelon by the way is common. Yellow is much harder to find).
It’s the watermelon I struggle to find the most. To be honest, the main theme of Tropical Ice Blast is highly reminiscent of cucumber! I hate cucumber vapes lol.
Yet I’ve been vaping this one without pulling any faces. That’s why I find it very intriguing. Exotic fruits are mentioned in the flavour description and I wholeheartedly agree with that.
It would seem IVG has played a number on my taste buds!
At times I pick out hints of orange. Other times there may be a subtle back note of lemon. This is the magic of Tropical Ice Blast. The flavour experience seems to evolve the more it’s vaped and that’s certainly not a bad thing.
By no means a bad vape and with so much going on, Tropical Ice Blast manages to hold the interest levels.
IVG Juicy Tropical Ice Blast Nic Salt
There’s plenty of sourness to accompany the ice cool blast of the inhale. It’s a very smooth, thirst quenching inhale too giving way to a blast of sweet green apple on the exhale.
The green apple is subtle in tone but combines well with other fruity content, orange being one I pick out as another minor player.
I don’t find watermelon to be the major contributing factor to Tropical Ice Blast. Instead I personally feel it belongs to cucumber!
Yes I know it’s not even mentioned as part of the profile breakdown (and why would it?) but remember taste perception varies greatly. I can only honestly state what I experience.
Generally speaking I detest cucumber vapes but there’s enough going on with Tropical Ice Blast to stop it becoming irksome. It certainly offers up a taste of the tropical and vapes consistently well. It’s quite possibly the sweetest profile in the nicotine salt range.
Cloud production is once again stealth like and duplicates that found with all other flavours in the range.
Final Review Verdict
The IVG Juicy range is impressive. I say this because I found myself guzzling through the 50ml short fill bottles in no time at all!
They’ve used a very effective natural sweetener across the range which may be a little intense for some (especially with the nicotine salt version). I personally found the level to be spot on when combined with a sour and tarty inhale.
The overall majority of the fruits tasted clean, crisp and authentic. Yes, they were blended in a subtle way but prevented them from becoming sickly.
An example of this was Pina Colada – the fusion of coconut and pineapple was absolutely stunning!
Consistent Flavour Across Both Options
Comparing the short fill with the nicotine salt version is relatively easy.
Obviously vapour production is going to be the most noticeable difference. Flavour replication between both was more or less identical. For example, there was nothing to separate the flavour of the blackcurrant during exhale, both being equally crisp and clean.
Any overall differences were based purely on the power capabilities of the devices used.
It’s for this reason the scores are identical for both versions.
The short fill versions were far more effective at creating an icy cool blast (occasionally overwhelming) while the nicotine salt renditions favoured the almost wet sweetness of the range.
IVG certainly hasn’t skimped on its use of concentrate, because each and every vape was consistent for flavour. This always resulted in a flavour “explosion” on the exhale which I for one give a massive thumbs up to.
Yes, at times it felt like the apple content was lacking. The watermelon wasn’t what I was expecting and raspberry seemed to be muted by other dark berries.
The Juicy range relies heavily on a blend of subtle flavour notes and that’s no bad thing.
The fact that I’ve practically vaped all the bottles has to speak volumes.
There’s no getting round the fact the IVG Juicy range does indeed vape great.
