In today’s review we are looking at the latest device from OXVA, the OXVA VPrime 2!
OXVA’s original VPrime is an outstanding kit that we reviewed to great acclaim back in 2024, and the follow-up to this excellent pod system is now here!
OXVA also recently released another update/sequel to one of their kits (I’m sensing a theme here!) with the OXVA NeXLIM 2- definitely worth having a read of that review and checking that one out too.
What Can We Expect From The OXVA VPrime 2?
With the OXVA VPrime 2, OXVA are delivering a kit that offers prime power, and prime hits!
One of the big selling points here is the absolutely huge 3400mAh built in battery, which is near smartphone-level capacity!
This is designed to keep you vaping for days, and there’s also 5V/3A fast charging capabilities to recharge the battery in next to no time.
This big battery device also delivers big battery too, with a maximum output of 60W, making it one of the most powerful pod systems money can buy.
With instant power activation, you get effortless draws from the OXVA VPrime 2, and huge vapour production from the adjustable airflow!
Also, it is easy to switch between eco and boost modes on the fly, allowing you to tailor your vape exactly how you like it.
A new VPrime Dual Mesh Cartridge has been designed for the VPrime 2, with a larger capacity for heavy direct-to-lung (DTL) vapers.
It boasts a 6ml capacity- but only if you are purchasing the device outside of a TPD regulated area. The TPD version will be restricted to a 2ml capacity due to regulations.
With new Unitech 3.0 technology, you can expect a 200% boost in both flavour and pod lifespan, thanks to the U-Shaped airflow and large chamber design. This also provides a 120% improvement in leak protection as well as smoother and richer flavour.
The original VPrime pod kit was renowned for its outstanding large screen, and it gets even better here with the VPrime 2’s dynamic smart screen. Adjusting settings is a breeze too, with simple button press combinations, making the VPrime 2 an accessible device.

Build Quality
Well, the original VPrime device was well known for its large size, and the VPrime 2 is actually bigger- only by a touch though, measuring in at 113.12mm x 41.2mm x 27.7mm!
The VPrime 2 is heavier than its predecessor, weighing it at 150g (compared to 116g on the original), but when you consider what OXVA have packed in here, that comes as no surprise really!
It is a pod system with a serious bit of heft to it, something I definitely noticed when carrying it around in hand or slipping it into my pocket.
The OXVA VPrime 2 is seriously robust though, able to stand up to knocks and drops quite easily, making it a great choice if you are looking for a hard wearing device.
There are six colour options available, with Mirage Blue, Mirage Purple, Mirage Pink, Black Carbon, Shard Black and Shard Gold.
These carry the OXVA design DNA sported by their most recent devices- my Shard Black review sample instantly reminded me of the XLIM Pro 2 DNA that I recently reviewed, just a lot larger!
The front of the device is dominated by the large, clear 0.98″ colour screen, which is a touch larger than the screen on the original VPrime. This is bright and beautiful, with easy to read information at a glance, the themes can also be customised.
Housed at the top of the screen is the power button, which can be used for firing the device and changing settings. On one side is the power button locking switch, and on the other side is the airflow control.
At the base is the Type-C charging port.
The VPrime pod cartridges connect magnetically to the VPrime 2 device and these are held very firmly in place.
The pod itself is fully transparent, which allows you to see the full capacity of the pod- handy for knowing when you need to fill up!
Quick Start Guide
How to Fill the Pod
The filling port is located at the side of the VPrime cartridge, and it sits above the device so you don’t even need to remove it in order to fill it up.
Pop the filling port cover open to reveal the filling port, insert your bottle nozzle from your chosen e-liquid and fill the pod all the way to near enough the top.
Of course, if you are filling a new pod up for the first time, allow e-liquid to sit in the pod for at least five minutes before you take a puff.
This will allow the cotton in the coil to fully absorb the e-liquid, prolonging the lifespan of the coil and helping to protect against the chance of dry hits happening.
Operation
Changing settings is a breeze with the VPrime 2, as this is all done via a combination of power button presses.
- 1 click activates the screen
- 2 clicks allows you to adjust the device theme
- 3 clicks will activate the wattage adjustment, which can be adjusted from 5-60W in 1W increments
- 4 clicks switches between eco and boost mode (or single/dual coil firing!)
- 5 clicks powers the device on and off
You can also toggle the fire button on and off by toggling the switch at the side of the device. An auto draw system is built in, so you can just take a draw on the device to fire it, or by unlocking the fire button you can also press the button to vape.
Charging
This kit is absolutely RAPID at charging, as it has up to 5V/3A fast charging capabilities when used with a compatible charger!
With a compatible charger, I can get a full charge in under an hour which is really impressive when you consider the huge battery that is built into the VPrime 2!
There is a Type-C cable included in the kit, which can be used to charge the device when attached to a laptop or suitable plug, and whilst the VPrime 2 is charging you can check the charging status on screen.

How Does The OXVA VPrime 2 Perform?
Now, this is a serious bit of kit, the VPrime 2 is a pod system that has an adjustable power output of 5-60W, making it a great choice for MTL, RDL and DTL vapers alike!
This also makes the VPrime 2 a great choice for high power users that want a kit smaller than a box mod to carry around, as this offers sub ohm box mod level performance in a pod system package.
As with OXVA products, I found that performance is extremely consistent too, meaning that there’s no sudden drop off in power or wild fluctuations in the vape quality. The puff just tastes consistent all the way through.
You can also switch between eco and boost modes on the fly simply by double clicking the power button. This essentially switches the device between single or dual coil mode, making the vape more subtle or intense.
Eco mode also means that you can squeeze a bit more out of the battery as less power is delivered to the coil, which is handy if you are in a pinch and can’t charge your device for a little while.
Flavour
I can tell you now, OXVA are the masters when it comes to flavour delivery from a pod system, I’ve been vaping their devices for a few years now and have always come away impressed by the flavour quality.
The VPrime 2 continues this trend by offering a beautiful vape, and it delivers with both nicotine salt and freebase nicotine e-liquids. I’ve definitely been enjoying getting through my stash of shortfills with this device!
Both the 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pods deliver an exceptionally crisp and flavoursome vape, I couldn’t pick a favourite out of the two of them!
These pods are an excellent choice for shortfill e-liquids too, as they can handle high VG e-liquid with ease- I had no problems with wicking even when heavily chain vaping, the VPrime cartridges could keep up no problem at all.
Pod Lifespan
I’ve had the device for just over a week at the time of writing, and my original pods are still going strong. I’ve been vaping the Kuro shortfills in these pods, and they have held up to countless refills so far.
I’m definitely coming up to 100ml worth of refills on the 0.6ohm VPrime cartridge!
I will update the review once one of these pods finally gives up the ghost….
Airflow
On the side of the device is an ergonomic airflow control, and this gives you control over a wealth of different vaping options.
You can dial it right down for a tight mouth to lung vape, which is great for vaping high strength nicotine salt based e-liquids, open it up to about three quarters for a restricted lung hit, or open it right up and crank the power up for high VG sub ohm vaping!
This really does excel at cloud production, in fact it is one of the cloudiest pod systems that I have tried! With the wattage turned up and airflow open, this can fill a room in no time at all with vapour.
I found the airflow control slider to be incredibly smooth and responsive, it’s also great at keeping your selection locked in too, I didn’t have any accidental adjustments to the airflow whilst I used the VPrime 2.
I will say however that it is easy to cover up the airflow intake when holding the device and taking a puff, especially if you wrap your fingers around the VPrime 2. You just have to be mindful of finger placement!
Battery Life
The OXVA VPrime 2 has an absolutely huge 3400mAh battery built in, the biggest yet seen on an OXVA pod kit, which offers battery life that can be measured in days.
I was primary vaping in boost mode with the wattage set to 40-50W with both the 0.4 and 0.6ohm pods and I could sail through two days of heavy vaping off of a full charge. That is very impressive for a device that slips into your pocket!
Battery life can be extended even further by switching to eco mode, so if you are running low on juice and need to eke out a little more power before you can charge your device, this mode does come in handy.

Final Verdict
If you are looking for a pod system that successfully bridges the gap between pocket-friendly convenience and sub-ohm box mod performance, the OXVA VPrime 2 is an absolute triumph!
OXVA has a well-earned reputation for being masters of flavour delivery, and this device continues that legacy in spades. Whether you are running nicotine salts or pushing high VG shortfills through the pods, the new Unitech 3.0 technology serves up a crisp, flawless, and intensely flavoursome vape.
The star of the show here is undoubtedly that mammoth 3400mAh battery. Getting two full days of heavy vaping at 40-50W out of a device that slips into your pocket is nothing short of incredible, and the 5V/3A fast charging means you’re never tethered to a plug for long.
The addition of Eco and Boost modes adds a fantastic layer of versatility on the fly, allowing you to easily stretch that battery life even further if you’re in a pinch.
It is worth noting that this kit has some serious heft to it. At 150g, it’s noticeably chunkier than its predecessor, and you do need to be mindful of your finger placement so you don’t accidentally block the airflow intake.
However, the construction feels incredibly premium and hard-wearing in the hand.
Overall, the OXVA VPrime 2 is a powerhouse of a pod kit. It might be a bit on the heavy side, but the trade-off for near smartphone-level battery capacity and staggering 60W performance is more than worth it.
From the exceptional pod lifespan to the room-filling vapour production, OXVA has delivered a highly capable, reliable, and deeply satisfying kit. Highly recommended for both cloud chasers and flavour chasers alike!
